Yamato Steak House Of Japan

If I could describe this place with one word it would be "UNBELIEVABLE". Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted so delicious and the proportions were great for what they cost. We ordered the Pink Lady & Volcano sushi, the kids Hibachi steak meal, the dinner Hibachi Chicken with miso soup and ginger salad, and fried cheescake. Everything surpassed my expectations. The service was outstanding too. I fully recommend this place to anyone looking for great Japanese cuisine.

I ordered the salmon hibachi dinner. It came with a house salad and miso soup.

Also got the dinosaur eggs, sashimi, and a number 13 (forgot the name) special roll.

I love ❤ love loved it. I forgot to get the waitress's name. She was soo attentive. The appetizer Dancing Crab was delicious. The chef did a freaking fantastic amazing art job on the plate, I thought it was a decorative plate HECK no that the Chef's work of art. Totally Amazing

Super place in the Bay, small and intimate. Get the “dinosaur egg” if they have it, it’s a frequent special. Shaped crab and avocado with sauce and just.... yum! Their rolls rock and their hibachi is rippin’ hot. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. Best sushi place in the Bay/Waveland

If you want great Japanese food but not outrageous proces, go here! You always get a large portion of food...enough for at least one more meal, without breaking the bank. The people are nice and friendly that work here. It's a great Friday night hot spot when you don't feel like cooking.

This was very comparable to Samurai and Koi. I think their special rolls might have been a little less "stuffed" compared with Koi/Samurai, but nonetheless, they were very good. The chicken hibachi dinner was tasty as well. I was not expecting this place to be as good as it was, considering the location.

We like hibachi. You can get it here but at your own table. The chef does all the cooking in the kitchen. I had filet mignon and it was delicious. Comes with fried rice and vegetables and also meso soup and salad with the ginger dressing. It seemed to be a popular place with a lot of customers coming in for dine in as well as take out. That's one way you can tell a place has good food.
