It's literally a roadside grill. The food is awesome, but like everything else it is a little pricey too. I got a cb plate. It was big enough for several meals for me. I got a take home order for my husband. I didn't check it there like I usually do. It wasn't what I ordered, but it looked so good, he said not to worry about it. Must've been really good. He wiped it out. Lol. Definitely a place I like to go. I only gave the atmosphere three stars cause it's not anything fancy, with roughly 5-6 booths. I personally like this type of diner. You can almost bet the food will be good. The staff was very friendly also.

Best burgers in hickory and the staff are really nice

I see a lot of bad reviews on this place, but I have no idea why. The burgers are a touch pricey, but that's the cost of goods nowadays and the burgers they sell here are HUGE. I got a double, and I could barely finish it!

The food is excellent, it's hard to find a great diner-style burger. The crinkle fries are sightly overcooked, but in the best way possible. They have a perfect crunch to them and just like the burgers, the portion of fries you get in an order is huge!

If you're looking for a dirt cheap burger, go to McDonald's. If you're looking for a GOOD burger, pay a little bit more, support local, and get a stellar burger from Roadside Grill.

I mean seriously, a hidden gem. The staff is extremely friendly - above and beyond. I had no idea this existed and now I’m sad I didn’t. The best chili cheeseburger and crinkle fries I’ve ever had. Also, don’t skip dessert. 10/10 recommend the warm brownie sundae. Thank me later for this one.

Wow! We just had the burgers and fries. Fantastic and huge. You are getting a lot of food for the price. 100% recommend this place. And the lady that took our order was so incredibly sweet.

I decided to give Roadside Diner a try for supper earlier this evening. I've been hearing how good their food is. Man, did I hit the jackpot! I pulled up to the window to order and a super nice lady greeted me and gave me a menu. I then ordered 2 hamburgers all the way and paid my 11.00 with a smile. Remember that it's cash only at the Roadside Diner. So I pulled over to a parking spot and waited for my food. All food is cooked to order. It didn't take long at all and I got the signal to drive back around and pick up my order. The very friendly lady told me to come back again and wished me a good night, and I wished her a good night also. I pulled over to a nearby parking lot and started eating. Each burger was wonderful and each bite was perfection! The burgers were large, I'm thinking 1/3 lb each. Great toppings on each and the buns were sesame seed. On a scale of 10, these 2 burgers each rated an 11. I got my money's worth and then some. Their hamburger is a strong candidate for best burger in Catawba County. I will definitely be back to the Roadside Diner!!

Best burger value in town! Big 1/3 patties cooked perfectly, plated the way you want, with a huge serving of perfectly crispy, salty fries for $7.25. Don't sleep on the barbecue, either - it's top notch. Bring cash, though - they don't do plastic.

A small town grille owned by a genuine man. I'm surprised that there are so many locals that don't know about this place. Their cheeseburgers are huge and delicious! You definitely get your money's worth
