UNC Family Medicine at Hillsborough

I have had a great experience with Dr. Patel and his wonderful staff at this office and am glad I switched from Duke. The warm and friendly environment combined with how insightful and thorough Dr. Patel is makes this a really great GP office. Having been anemic for several years now, after treatment here I am finally a healthy iron levels for the first time in a very long time. Great work!

I love my doctor. She listens to me and helps me decide in the best possible care that I can manage. I can trust in what she says and believe she has my best interests in her care. The staff and her medical assistant are great and make sure my messages and/or concerns get answered.

I've had quit a few doctors in my life time, but none can hold a candle to the doctors at UNC family medicine. The doctors and staff are a number 1 group of people. I give them 5+ stars.

Doctors fine. Front staff and telephonic commo not so good.

Very professional and friendly. I am a nervous patient and the staff from the front desk -> nurses->doctor are always friendly. I never wait long and the doctor always spends time discussing things with me.

Have seen a real change in the last 2 yrs and not a change for the good.

I have decided to switch practices because it was always hard to get an appointment. The biggest thing I am upset about, however, is the office
and there lack of organization or desire to help its customers. I have been trying to get the forms needed for the daycare for TWO WEEKS. This was just the immunization record and a Medical Report that had 5 questions on it that should only take five minutes. I seriously have called them over a dozen times, as well as went in the office twice. They were not helpful at all, and it actually seemed like they took longer on purpose because I needed it so badly and "bugged" them too much....Their response was it takes 72 hours to get this forms back, and it most certainly took longer than that.
Go somewhere else where the people actually care for their patients!!!

Went in because I ate old deli and felt dizzy and weak. Dr. Patel checked vitals and said he didn't find aything wrong and that I should come back if worsen. Nevertheless proceeded to remove wax from ears saying that “it might help”. Charged me $300. They just want to get your $$$.

Impossible to get appointments moved so you better make sure you have no pop up plans on the day of your appointment or you're screwed.... Dr offices are supposed to be flexable and be able to fit you, not this one.

This practice is very unprofessional in the amount of time it takes to get a prescription filled. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

I just stopped seeing Dr Singer. His staff is atrocious. Over last year I have had horrible communications with his support staff. After last visit, they were supposed to call me to give a reference for a surgeon. After multiple times leaving messages and asking for assistance, i gave up. Then the day before new years i needed a prescription filled. I called numerous times, no one ever called back, even after i left message begging for a callback by end of day so i could decide what to do. I even sent a letter to Dr Singer saying i was leaving his practice and outlined the above. He didn't seem to care as he never tried to contact me to apologize or try to retain me as a client.

Disorganized to a ridiculous degree. The doctors are fine, but the nurses seem to be lacking in professionalism as well as bedside manner.

You’re better off driving the 12 miles to Durham and going to Duke.

Anytime I call when I'm sick I can never get an appointment. I'm sent to a sister clinic which is pretty much an urgent care. Getting ready to find a new doctor.

This place is horrible, all they want is money. And they can't even the insurance claims right
