Papas & Beer Mexican Restaurant

Best Mexican restaurant in my opinion in Anderson SC! Service is above average, salsa bar available for patrons if you like to have options. Atmosphere is great for family as well.

I have seen Papa's and Beer in a lot of places since moving to the upstate and I have wanted to go for the last year. I was a little nervous because a lot of chain restaurants turn out to be less then satisfying. So finally after a long couple of hours of running errands we decided to try it out. Walking through it had a very good atmosphere and they have a salsa bar right near the door with large amounts of options, everything from kids salsa that is light on the seasonings to fresh habanero salsa that has an amazing flavor and you can definitely tell that it was fresh.

I ordered my beer 32oz Dos Equies Amber, from tap, my favorite! They offer guacamole that is made right next to the table to show the freshness of their product. They have a kids menu which features the usual kids menu items, tacos and fries, burrito and fries, enchilada and fries, hand made chicken tenders and........thats right, fries. You can also substitute fries with rice and beans. The wife and I had two different check dishes that absolutely blew our minds with the flavors. The service was amazing, the food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, and of course, the dips were Outstanding. If you haven't been to a Papa's and Beer lately I highly recommend you go!

Food was delicious! They have a salsa bar with an amazing selection of good, fresh salsas. Our favorite was the pumpkin salsa. It was not even as expected but in a great way. The service was really good. Portion sizes of the plates were huge and tasty. Great atmosphere! Good prices. We're definitely coming back when we visit South Carolina again.

$35 for two- WELL spent! You must bring an appetite because you are never cheated on portions. Clean, friendly staff and amazing food.

Caleb was our server and he was great! He was friendly, fast, and got everything right. As always the food was delicious, hot and fresh! I had the shredded beef in the molcajete sauce with vegetables and it was amazing, so savory and tender! My wife had the salmon and she said it was wonderfully seasoned and delicious. The music was festive and fun and we enjoyed our meal very much.

We are from Arizona and come out here to visit family often. Everytime we are here for a family graduation from Clemson we all come in to eat. We have never been dissapointed. The spinach enchiladas are the very best!

We celebrated my mom in law's birthday here and out was great. The food we ordered was very good. Service was superb 🥰

Food was excellent. A lot of food for a good price. Wait staff are very friendly. Great dining experience.

Loved the food of my choice. Potato Tacos/ hold the cheese. I'm a vegan, so this works well. Love to see more vegan choices. Their Frozen Margaritas are awesome. The waitress we had that Sunday evening was great. She has blonde hair. She was on the ball with our table of 11. Kept our chips coming along with our Margaritas 😀😀.

If you have that spring cold like I do. My magic combination - Mucinex, Papa's & Beer Chicken Soup & a house margarita. I swear I feel better already!!! The soup is not what your Mom or Campbell's ever made. It has huge chunks of chicken, avocado, carrot, potato, onion & zucchini. It is the best!!! Eat it there in the restaurant while it's hot & fresh. You won't be disappointed!!!

Delicious! And so much variety, too, from chicken to beef to fish to vegetarian. Fair pricing, too. And friendly service.

Spacious for larger groups. Always busy at night and on weekends. During the week, during the day is best if you want to have less commotion. Large parking lot that wraps around the building.

Located behind Target, up on a hill.

Highly recommended for single diners, small groups, large groups, parties, all ages.

Great authentic Mexican cuisine. When I went they were dealing with being short staffed but had a sign so customers were aware. Even with low staff the food was fast and service was amazing.

Food is great. Love the table side guac and the flaming fajitas. Great margaritas as well. Our family loves it

Staff is friendly and helpful, Food was great, portions are large and prices are fair.

Original review: I mistakenly asked for my meal in a stupid way and the server accommodated me exactly the way I asked for it. When I realized my mistake, I tried to suffer through it but couldn't. I then embarrassingly explained my mistake and the server, Madelyn, understood, didn't give me any attitude, apologized for MY mistake and fixed my order promptly. It was Delicious (thanks whoever made my 2nd Chimichanga!) 5 stars! The beer was perfectly cold too!

We stopped here for dinner on a road trip and the food was great. We ordered the California Jalapeno Bacon Fajitas for two. Honestly, you could have fed four people easily. The fajitas were great and we enjoyed the salsa bar, especially the pumpkin salsa and the cilantro salsa. The queso was good and the steak fries with the burger were even better. If we lived here, this would be our regular place for Mexican.

Another wonderful salad, this is the tropical fruit and chicken. Fresh tableside sizzle salad was so delicious 😋

The food was awesome, and the server was great also. Great margaritas an great food. I will be coming back
