Dave's Burger Barn

Located near 35 this place is a must go to for both locals and people visiting. It’s simple and welcoming. Anyone is sure to feel comfortable here. Decorated with all the info about the zipper ripper which is their legendary challenge. Look at the photo for information on it.

The food here is made fresh, it’s hot, and it’s delicious. I ordered the jalapeno cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, cheese was perfectly melted, and the meat was well seasoned. My fries were cooked well and not soggy or overcooked like sweet potato fries sometimes get. The sodas were good too! I loved the root beer. It almost had a little vanilla taste to it. The onion rings were really crispy and hot too.

The staff were really wonderful and kind.

Such a fun place! The burgers are worth the visit, we were not brave enough to try the zipper ripper.

Gosh dang this was a good old fashioned delicious cheeseburger!! Definitely recommend adding chili to it!

We had the jalapeño cheeseburgers with tater tots. The tater tots were perfectly crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside! Definitely recommend these burgers and the chocolate chip cookie dough shake!

Dave’s is not fancy, not trendy, not polished into something that distracts you from the food. What it is, though, is the place where you can get the best burger in town.

Yes, if what you want is a burger made from fresh ground beef, cooked as you order it by people who actually know what they are doing, Dave’s is the place.

Note that the fries have sugar on them. If you don’t want them that way, speak up! Oh, and the sugar cane lemonade is outstanding. Give it and the other specialty sodas a go. They are all good.

Finally, if you are interested in over-eating in a display of uniquely American gluttony, try the Zipper Ripper. Yep, pretty much a whole cow which you have to eat in 12 minutes. Then you’ll have a heart attack, but, before they wheel you out in an ambulance, you’ll get your picture on the board with the other King Carnivores!

Great food with good options. Cheeseburger, Sweet Potato fries, and Onion rings. Mmmm. Plenty of seating, highly recommend!

Best hotdogs I've ever had, and I love real fries! They were seasoned perfectly. So good!

They have the best burgers I've had. Not only that their Frito pie is delicious. Chilli bowls smoking good. They have great timing and the atmosphere reminds you of home. Go eat their y'all it's delicious 😋🤤

This a great place. I've been here 3 times. It pricey, on 6.6.17 1 hamburger basket (burger,fries, 20oz) & a 1 double cheese burger with 20oz drink $17.93. It's has always been perfect. Very yummy. The place can be crowded quickly since its small but it's clean and they offer Blue Bell ice cream and its even on displayed, it's a nice touch. They even offer this $25 deal. Eat all the food in 12 minutes its free and your photo goes up the wall. Get there earlier or after the rush for best seating. Bone appetit

Loved this place. Delicious food freshly made. The staff were wonderful and helpful. If you're looking for a place to stop on IH-35 between Dallas and Austin, stop here! You'll be glad you did

The atmosphere gives a hole in the wall you’re about to have good food feeling to it, the customer service is amazing, hit the nail on the head with that one, we personally had Sky, and she made us feel like we were amongst friends, the food hit the spot as usual, giving classic burger with the freshness and flavor many other restaurants lack

My wife came before me telling me was so good, she bring me here a Saturday that wasn’t busy, let me tell you guys one of the best burgers I ate, I got the jalapeño burger, that any place will put pickle jalapeños but the put fresh cut ones!

Lady in the back dont like to be told she made a mistake. She took the tomato off the burger and just gave it back instead of replacing the whole burger. Otherwise I love the place. Tip dine in and you get alot more fries than if you get it to go.

Exceptional service and food. I was looking for a local place to meet my friends for an hour in Waco and this was a solid win. (Also, it's away from traffic centers. Not so close to any of the sites, if that is a concern.) We did not participate in the challenge (see pics) but it looked like fun, too. The men's bathroom was clean when I went in the store, but my wife had exception to the women's. Maybe they could be a little more diligent about that. We will definitely stop here again when we are just having a lunch in Waco.

The menu has been updated (thanks to inflation) since the last picture I saw here, so I posted a new menu. We did not try the ice cream, but they offered Blue Bell, which is "the best ice cream in the country." Haha...but it makes the store into a smaller version of Braum's. And better burgers, too.

The cashier that we had was super sweet to my toddler and the food came out hot and fresh! And the fries are amazing!

Dave’s is top-notch! Even with a full lobby and a line to the door, staff were very friendly and efficient.

Firt time coming here and the food was amazing, ghe atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. 10 out of ten will come back
