The Food Lady Cafe and Catering

First off if you reading this trying to decide if you want to eat here, stop and go eat there then finish reading the review. We are currently evacuated from New Orleans and this tasted like home. Both me and my boyfriend held back tears because as the song goes “we know what it means to miss New Orleans” and so do they at the “Food Lady”. The Boudin balls are fantastic, the catfish is the best I’ve had in Texas, and the shrimp and grits was good enough to have a line out the gate at Jazz Fest. All of that and still priced like a good neighborhood place. Most of all though it felt like home, Ms.Kiki came by and let us know she would pray for us and hoped our house was ok. Everyone was so kind and helpful and made us feel at home. Will be stopping by every time we are in town from now on.

I've been here a few times, and I have to say, it is one of my favorite places to go in Livingston, Tx. She does different types of main entree specials each day of the week, with a set list of a few items everyday. Everything I've had is really awesome, though so far, my two favorites are the meat loaf and the etouffee. With the meat loaf meal she does green beans, mac and cheese, and a dessert. The meat loaf was cooked to perfection, nice a seared meat that's tender on the inside, with a delicious sauce to top it off. The mac and cheese is seasoned and cooked exactly how mac and cheese should be, the perfect amount of creaminess and cheesiness. The etouffee had perfect spice and flavor, one of the best I've had in a long time. It had a nice amount meat, and the sauce to rice ratio is just right. Not only do they have amazing food, but the owner and staff are extremely friendly and professional, they make you feel like family when you talk to them. If you're ever in the area, please check them out and see for yourselves.

This is literally the best place to eat lunch in Livingston. The staff makes you feel at home and you can taste the love in the food. My absolutely favorite spot for lunch!

Delicious! Point, blank, period! The Food lady catered for my event and all of the rave was about how good the Cajun Pasta and Banana pudding was! I will forever be a customer, and she will forever be blessed!❤
