Amazing atmosphere, great hospitality from when we walked in, customer service great, and food is great! It is inside the old Taylor High band hall! The history of Taylor is definitely seen and felt when you step into the restaurant. Mimosas are perfect! Love a little heavy pour. The ranch burger tastes like a homemade burger! Just how I like it. The farm breakfast is a classic breakfast plate. Can’t go wrong with that choice. The Bacon and the French Toast ARE A MUST TRY! My daughter finished her chocolate chip pancake so it must have been really good. I highly recommend this place! I look forward to trying new dishes on my next visit. Especially the brunch!

We arrived for dinner at 6:45 and were pleased that the place looked busy but not such as we’d have to wait for a table. The atmosphere and decor is absolutely divine!! The staff were all welcoming and friendly.

We started with chips (homemade) and queso. Tasty! I had Mom’s Meatloaf with loaded mashed potatoes (because they were out of baked potatoes) with deviled eggs as a side. I recommend you order the tomato sauce topping for the meatloaf on the side. It was too sweet for my taste but I saw others enjoying it on their meatloaf. My husband got the chicken fried steak with the cowboy caviar which he said was delicious.

We ended by sharing a slice of the lemon blueberry pie and, OMG(!!), don’t leave Plowman’s without having dessert!

I will be sure to add Plowman’s Kitchen to our rotation of favorite sit down restaurants.

We absolutely love coming here and every time I forget to leave a review (probably because I’m so focused on eating). I think I’ve tried almost everything on the menu but I’d like to highlight their deserts. The banana split pie is a must! The service here is great too the vibe is always chill. Taylor is a small town and it’s rare to get a bad experience. As for entree I’d recommend the salmon croquette.

This place really impressed me! I loved it. They took an abandoned elementary school and turned it into a fantastic bakery/bar and restaurant.

The food was amazing! Great flavor, especially that chicken fried steak! I honest cannot remember the last time i had one that good.

The fried green tomatoes were fried perfectly with good crisp green tomato slices! Their sweet drizzle really sets these thing apart from anywhere else!

The cajun shrimp pasta was good! Rich, saucy, and well cooked shrimp! They have a decent bar selection with a great menu to dive into!

I would highly recommend you stop in here and try it!

Taylor is full of great food, unique spots, and lovely people. But, none have them all in spades like Plowman's.

This spot is a household favorite for us, and for good reason. We've eaten our way through much of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, and it's all been excellent. The burgers are some of the best around, the pancakes are fluffy and flavorful, the salmon croquettes are a delight, and the mac and cheese - it speaks for itself.

The servers here are all friendly and seem to love their job, as does the management staff. The location and atmosphere are incredibly unique, showcasing bits of the old Taylor High while feeling new.

There's a lot of great food in Taylor, but if you're only stopping for one meal, Plowman's has something for everyone. (Be sure to stop by their bakery case for a brownie, chocolate pie, or anything else they have!)

The atmosphere is fantastic!l, the old school conversion is super cool!

It’s southern cooking and is delicious. They have all the staples with a twist and some unexpected options. The meatloaf and chicken fried steak are phenomenal. The seasonal veggies and okra are mouthwatering, and the pan fried biscuits are just like my mom makes (amazing).

We joked about finding a house and moving to Taylor just to eat here! Or is it a joke…

I have eaten here four or five times and have thoroughly enjoyed myself every time. The food is always excellent. The facilities are always clean. The staff is fantastic. Everyone is always kind, friendly, polite, and timely. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I enjoy their all day breakfast and daily specials. I also really enjoyed the item they served my mother for her birthday. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!

My one and only complaint, and it's not that big of a deal, is that the restaurant is quite warm in the summer. I understand they are doing their best and Texas temperatures are very difficult to combat. But, perhaps a few more fans would help. Otherwise I have no complaints and think Plowman's is a fantastic place to eat.

We both had perfect, toasted sandwiches with yummy crisp fries. We also ordered a side of deviled eggs which we both thought were perfect as well. Creamy and classic without unnecessary toppings. We were just in Taylor for a bit and stopped in for a bite. Delicious food made with care. Cool use of old school too. Love the flowers/logs out front. We'll come back sometime to try a dinner entree. Thanks.

Went on a Sunday. We were given the brunch menu. We asked if we would be able to order the fried green tomatoes, we had seen them online but not on the brunch menu. They were able to do it, and boy were those the best elevated flavors on a fried green tomato! (Pictured after we ate some, because i was so excited that I forgot to take the pic when it came out) I'd be back for those alone. So fresh.... nice crispy batter, on a bed of fresh greens (I think spinach), with feta and a sweet jam. I think she said it was an apple bacon jam. It was to die for. The tomato basil soup was great also. The meatloaf was a bit denser than I like, but flavors were there. And it had freshly prepared chunky tomato sauce on top. The club sandwich was pretty great also. Service was great as well. Our server was so knowledgeable about the menu and had a wonderful bubbly personality. We will be back!

We were passing by and found this gem. Delicious food, desserts, and drinks. Our food was good only flaw was the quinoa (served cold and wish it was noted as cold not warm on the menu). I had the lavender alcoholic drink - yummy! Fun place will come back. Military friendly with a nice discount.

Thank you to the responder for your kind response. Not all businesses can take feedback and it is appreciated when we deal with professionals that are kind and open minded to reviews. That is why we love your restaurant and are repeat visitors.

Everything was bursting with flavor! I got pulled pork nachos and my husband got fried chicken. Both were delicious. We got a slice of apple pie for dessert and it was delectable, the crust and filling were perfect.

Stopped by for lunch and was very impressed. Burger and chicken fried chicken (and tortilla soup) were loved by my boys 11& 12). I had the fried green tomatoes and a small beet salad and both were amazing. Service was great, friendly. Very cool atmosphere. Highly recommend and definitely coming back!!

For my first time trying plowman’s kitchen I ordered a cheeseburger & club sandwich. Both of these tasted amazing! For the burger, they let you choose your bread & a side. At the first bite you could tell the bun was fresh. The club was easily one of the best I’ve had. I could only eat one half of the sandwich because of how much they packed into the sandwich. The bacon wasn’t microwaved bacon that tastes like rubber. You can taste that they had just fried it prior to bringing the sandwich to the table.

I love how they repurposed this restaurant. It is so unique & I love that they put the band instruments on the walls, lamps, etc. The service was great & you can’t beat the price!

Great small town restaurant that did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, awesome wait staff, the food and desserts were on point. Our waitress, Xiola, was very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. Today we had the chicken fried chicken and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. We are definitely returning to try more menu items.

I came here Sunday morning, which was very busy. Service was great though. Food was hot and fresh. Took a little because of the crowd, the bacon was top notch, the eggs tasted homemade, and coffee was very fresh! Ultimately impressed with my experience. Certainly will be back!

Nice local restaurant in an old school building. Subtly decorated with a few touches of a marching band. Helpful service, even serving my husband's salmon plain and with no salt. My enchiladas were also excellent.

OMG...you have to check this place out. Great menu, great service and an interesting location. The fried green tomatoes are to die for. They are the only restaurant I've been to in 40 years that have deviled eggs!! We got the filet and the pork medallions. Check it out.

I had takeout from this place and it was really fantastic. Every item we tried was good. My favorite were the brussel sprouts. Absolutely off the hook. Definitely the best brussel sprouts I have had in YEARS. Like, I could not make them this good at home if I tried. Everything we ordered from here was good though, we had sandwiches, biscuits, and a bunch of other stuff, including a salad with beets and goat cheese. I did not set food inside the place because someone else picked up the order so I can't say anything about atmosphere, but the quality of the food at this place really impressed me.
