McCoy's Building Supply

Very clean and organized store. The staff was super helpful and greeted me as i entered.
The only thing to think is that since the road to get to it is divided, you need to be coming from the I-35 side or you'll have to do a U-turn.

Started rough. Bought 18 boards and waited in the yard to be loaded for too long. However, once I got help they were very friendly and helpful. They even helped me with my creative loading solution to carry boards that were much too long for my vehicle. I give them 5 stars bc no other lumber yard would work that hard for 1 customer buying just 18 boards.

I have been a general contractor for the past 14 years and I am extremely happy with McCoy’s building supplies everything about this place is awesome!

I always enjoy McCoys everyone is always welcoming decent prices i go there for most everything for my projects electrical, plumbing painting ,drywall, outdoor materials ,keys etc....

Walked in and had six people ask if I needed help. Way better than Lowe's or Home Depot where their people are clearly trained to avoid contact with customers at all costs. Very friendly, knowledge employees who seem to WANT to help!

Had a great experience working with Adriana at McCoy’s in Georgetown. She helped us locate baseboard trim to match our existing trim for an interior remodel project. She even helped load it into our truck. We drove from Austin as material was not available in other locations. She was helpful, friendly, and efficient. We give Adriana and McCoy’s 5 stars!

Everyone is so nice and helpful there. I love to support the Local businesses when I can, and for the most part, I can find what I need there. Store is always clean and organized and you are greeted as soon as you walk through the door. So I encourage you to support your local businesses when possible.

The store was clean and the people were helpful! They showed me the lumber so i could make a informed descision, and even let me pick each board to make sure they were all to my specifications. They cut each piece with care to make sure it was the proper length, and loaded me up with a smile! Even though it was raining! Thanks guys, see you again on my next project!

My first visit here was very top notch customer service. Coming here is a better experience than a chain store like Home Depot or Lowe’s. At McCoy’s, I felt like the knowledgeable employees there really cared about me as they helped me color match my paint.

Good customer service. Picked up railroad ties and they loaded them. Didn’t have to do anything.

We entered the store to be greeted by a cheerful employee named Mary. She immediately offered to assist us. We were looking for a front door for our home. Mary possessed great soft skills which so many companies obviously don't require any more. Rather than BS us like some employees at other places would do, she told us she'd get an employee more knowledgeable. Alex was that employee and absolutely knowledgeable. Mary, rather then leave, she stayed close by, learning, as Alex helped us. Alex, with Mary by his side, saw to our satisfaction with the product and pricing. Customer service was outstanding by both. Definitely assets to this company or any company. It's more rare these days to find people that give 100%. Congratulations to McCoy's on finding two!

Love this place. May not have everything that the big box stores have, but what they have is something that the big stores can't get. History with the locals.

I love shopping here as it is smaller than Home Depot and not as crowded. Plus, there is always a friendly face at the register at the front of the store and I can always ask for something is. They always leave me right to it, saving a lot of time.

I love these guys! This is the only retail lumber store where I am not exhausted and frustrated to shop. They are a good 30 minutes from me, but whenever I have a planned purchase, I use these folks. They seem to genuinely care.

Always a smiling group of employees, they know their store well. Always respectful and just an all around great place to grab what you need quick and convenient.

I revised my original post (see below) & increased my rating from 3 stars to 5 after reading the owner’s response to my review. It’s really nice to see the decision makes paying attention and replying to a random online post!

I build furniture & buy a lot of lumber, so I’m always looking for the best quality for the lowest cost. After checking out McCoy’s website & comparing their prices with Home Depot, I was stoked to find that McCoy’s wins. But...almost every piece of lumber I’ve gotten from them winds up warping or bowing, making it completely useless. Now I scrutinize every board I buy before I buy it so I know it’s in good shape at that time but within a relatively short tome, I find that the piece becomes distorted in one way or another. I’m sure they’d replace the boards or refund my money but by that time it becomes worthless, I’ve usually already cut it. And even though I’ve found that you’ve gotta dig thru piles of wood at Home Depot to find good pieces, the quality just seems to be a lot better....sometimes.

Excellent customer service from cashier Nina offer veterans discount with proper id & ag exemption with ag # they load with forklifts which is great instead of lugging material through store only draw back is some of the wood material isn't # 1 product when you can't pick through it
