Breakaway Airport

We are new to the Breakaway airport family and neighborhood. After years of searching we finally found our dream home in a dream location. For the business traveler or the aviation enthusiast, this private runway community is a real gem! I am thrilled to raise my kids within a community that shares a respect for the tradition and heritage of flight. We feel blessed beyond reason!

My wife grew up here as her Dad is a pilot, then we built our house here on the runway about 12 years ago. And while I am not a pilot it is very cool to see the occasional plane landing and taking off. A friend mentioned one day it was like being on a lake and watching sail boats. Since its private there’s not a ton of activity but still very cool. And any perceived noise or disruption is extremely minimal, you don’t even notice it from that aspect (even from a non-pilot!). Then there is the community...the people are great!

This private airport community has thrived for over 40 years and has always been a place where the freedom of flight and the pursuit of happiness is celebrated . Once a sleepy grass strip way outside of Austin down a dirt road, Breakaway is a jewel and sanctuary for living independently with airplanes and the ability to travel anywhere in the world from a 3000 foot runway. Over the years, the city’s of Austin and Cedar Park have enveloped the community and we have always worked to be welcoming and good neighbors. Everyone likes peace and quite but if you live in NYC you don’t expect it. So if you are new to the area and don’t like the sounds of airplanes then you should have considered this. Same goes if you live by a train track or busy highway. If these were there before you decided to move next to them, your complaints are hollow. With that said if you are not familiar with airplanes and want to learn more about them, we hold public events a couple times a year and any of us are more than happy to share our love of flight with you. Hank Sasser Breakaway Airport is thriving and here to stay a beacon for private aviation and the spirit of flight in the Metro Austin area.

Love our little airport community! Our kids loved growing up here & being a part of the neighborhood activities. They love bringing our grandson to visit so he can fly in Grandpa's plane!

Created in 1980 as a small private strip away from the hustle and bustle of Austin. Better than ever and a great place to live.

Great little private airport that has been there since the 70's, well before anything else was here. Lots of friendly folks around. Even though it is private, they have a picnic open to everyone every fall.

Great little private airpark in the heart of Texas. Privately owned, private use. Must have permission from current resident in order to land. No services available.

This is right next to my school so when I got outside for gym I get to see tons of airplanes flying around.

Great little airport community in Cedar Park.
