Jess 'n Nic's Pizzeria & Pub

Is it worth driving a half hour north of Portland to get a cheeseburger here? Well it’ll have to be, and I better get used to driving, because Jess ‘n Nic’s has the best cheeseburger anywhere. You can keep the Portland fancy-pants stuff, I’ll go north anytime for their food here. Lots of poser “good cheeseburgers” out there, but not at Jess ‘n Nic’s. They are the real deal. We went Saturday eve after a day out in the woods trying to get our own hamburger meat. No luck until we stopped here. Nice and warm, family atmosphere, and probably everybody there knew one another. A young gent was coming in hair as we got to the door and I asked him how the food was. He said, “It’s my Aunt’s place, so I better say it’s good.” He wasn’t exaggerating. It was that good. Friendly young waitress knew her menu and made some recommendations. I picked the “Putter Burger” cheese bbq sauce, red onions and a really tender medium patty. This place also has those really good long French fries. My buddy had the Steak Panini. I’m sure it was good, but I was too busy eating the fantastic cheeseburger they gave me to notice. The place has a bar too. They shut down by 8, and that’s fine by me, so be early.
I didn’t take pics of my cheeseburger for you because it would have delayed my gratification. Get in your Ram, Ford, or Subaru, and head up. Right off the Gray exit. You’ve been told.

We were driving from Seacoast NH to Bangor and randomly picked this place to stop for lunch. So glad we did! They were short staffed (as are a lot of places these days), but service was quick enough and pleasant and efficient. Food Wes delicious. We both had pizza and both were top notch. The other food we saw being delivered looked yummy too. Would whole heartedly recommend and would be a go to place for us if we lived cliser.

Stopped for lunch and had the fire jack burger. Great service and the food was delicious! I knew I had the right place when it was busy mid-week for lunch. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Great " little" neighborhood grocery. The employees are well trained and very helpful. Publix is one of my favorite corporate citizens for hiring the elderly and handicapped. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've been a fan for over 20 years. The food is consistent, well priced, well portioned, and always good. The staff is friendly, honest, and compassionate. The only downside to this place is that everyone loves it and on a Friday or Saturday night a table could take up to 2 hours to sit at - and sometimes a take out order can have the same wait time. I just think that speaks to why you should wait if you need to!

Unassuming exterior, but don't be fooled. Open since 1981, they have in every way kept up with 2021. Wines are available by the glass or bottled, beers are available by the bottle or on tap. At the bar counter you'll see regulars with their mugs from the Mug Club, and the occasional martini glass as well.

It's a seat yourself concept, or at least it was when we went on a Wednesday night. Stuffed Shells and a Wayno Burger treated us right. If you're thinking about a pasta dinner but don't want the salad & garlic bread, you can sub out a plate of fries instead. Which worked out for us because it meant he wasn't eating my fries, and I wasn't eating his ;)

Abby will take excellent care of you, if you're lucky enough to sit in her section. If you walk in, and it seems like there's no room, take heart and walk ALL the way back. We were only two, but they do have at least one table in the bar area that can accommodate up to five.

*If you're a party of six or more, I'd call ahead. From what I saw, seating for large groups is limited, and anything six or more I think you'd have to ask them to combine tables. With how fast they're kitchen is, I doubt you would have long to wait, but best to get that wait started while you're still on your way! Believe me, it's worth it 💫

Came here tonight for the first time with special company😊 The atmosphere was very comfortable and homey- beautifully decorated! Classic yet modern. There was a bar area as well as a quiet family area for seating. We shared a pizza that was very fairly priced, huge, and delicious! Our server was also very pleasant, as the whole staff seemed to be. Will definitely be back! Thanks for contributing to a great evening!

Food was great and not overpriced. One of our orders was wrong, but still yummy. We got a steak quesadilla instead of a steak panini. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

Glad we found Jess 'n Nic's. The food was amazing. Jess (not the Jess) took great care of us. The burgers and Italians were delicious. Also mom got the roast beef and said it was the best she had ever had. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area. 😀

I went last night with a friend. We got a table immediately but then had a pretty long wait time for food. With Covid a lot of places are understaffed so we weren't surprised by it. However, the waiter was awesome! He kept checking on us and updated us on the kitchen status. He also came through and gave us free snacks since we'd waited for a while. The atmosphere was friendly and fun, and when our food came out the cook brought them out and thanked us for being patient.

Also, it was totally worth the wait! We ordered paninis and sweet potato wedges and they were wonderful! I will definitely br returning

Nice place with good pizza & decent beer selection. Very busy for a Thursday, good for them though. Our waitress was super busy but managed to still be attentive and friendly. I'll be back again to try other delicious items on gheir menu.

Like most people with kids, we eat pizza everywhere we go. It's always a safe meal and everyone is happy. But you know how you find yourself rating pizza: great crust, but too much sauce. Or delicious cheese blend but the crust is too thin or crispy. It's hard to find a pizza that is just perfect in every way.

Jess 'n Nic's makes that perfect pizza.

Thick, doughy crust...just the right amount of sauce...generous cheese and toppings. If we lived closer, I would be in serious trouble. As it is, we settle for Friday pizza night takeout and look forward to it every week.

We've sampled their delicious salads, sandwiches, and fries, too. But we always go back to the pizza. If you get the chance, you should give it a try, too.

Best place to eat in the Gray/Windham Area for sure, hands down! Great Service, Friendly Staff and Amaaazing Food! I wish you guys were open 24/7 I never know where to go on mondays when you guys are closed lol.

Met my sister in law at this local place and let me tell you, service is excellent as well as the Pizza. This is a place that everyone knows your name! Felt very welcome to be there and mingle with the locals!!
