Love this place! I try to stop here for lunch whenever I am headed over that way. My absolute favorite is their fruit and nut salad with chicken. The french fries are delicious and perfectly crunchy. The staff is always welcoming and pleasant and the owner is great!

Up North has a wide array of sandwiches and a variety of pasties for sale. They were very friendly when I picked up my food. The frozen to go pasties are amazing if you are having people over and need to feed a crowd. Definitely don’t skip out on the gravy when you order

We enjoy getting takeout from Up North whenever we are in Richland. The pasties are delicious and an extremely hearty meal with a side of gravy. All of the sandwiches and salads are delicious. The Dirty Reuben is my favorite. All the food is really fresh and made to order. Highly recommend supporting this small business that brings a taste of the UP down to the trolls in SW Michigan.

This place is something you would pass without a second look when on the road. It would certainly be your loss. The food and service is great! The food will be out before you know it and might rival JJ’s. Lol

The streak sandwich was delicious, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. The bread was the softest bread and was perfect for the sandwich. I enjoyed the sandwich from the very first bit to the last. I didn’t have green peppers on mine but it can come with it. The ingredients that were on there (onions and mushrooms were fresh and plentiful. If you like cheese, you will love this one. The meat was tender and delicious.

The other sandwich is the pecan chicken salad with a drink. If you like chicken salad, this is the one. The ingredients are all fresh and the grapes and pecan really set everything off but after bite. The croissant was soft and had a slight sweetness to it. If I could have ate both, I would have!

The seating area is basic but accommodating. The tables and chairs are not the most up to date but I am not going there for the seating. The tables can easily accommodate a larger group or just one. You do feel comfortable while eating there.

If you're ever offered a fork for a sandwich, you know it's going to be good! Chipotle cheese steak & BBQ brisket are the sandwiches we chose. Beautifully crafted, amazing flavors. We ordered jalenpo mozzarella sticks as well. Everything was delicious!

Up north was excellent to work with for our catering order. Portions more than fed our group.

Food is incredible, I've never been disappointed. Sandwiches are huge. Definitely well worth the money. Pro tip-when they ask if you want silverware, get the silverware 😆

It was recommended to us by friends to try this place out while passing by the area, but by God, we will be back. This food is SO GOOD! Friendly staff that offers a huge variety of cold and hot sandwiches, pasties and all the Michigan goodies to go with. Feels like I’m in the U.P.! If you’re teetering on the edge, let me tell you, this place will not disappoint!

My fiancé and I went here today and what a wonderful experience it was! The food itself was DELICIOUS, but the service and incredibly personal staff made it even better. Audrey made a point to come over to our table and ask us how our food was and get to know us! I was floored by how sweet she was, why doesn’t every place in the world have service like this?! Anyway-the food-I ordered the chicken cheese steak and added marinara (pictured), then my fiancé and I split a side of cheddar broccoli soup (pictured) and shoe string fries with their amazing HOME-MADE RANCH (a midwesterners dream)…and every single bit of it was amazing! We were too happily full for dessert, but we will back to try one of the several they have (I have my heart set on the cookie with butter cream in the middle…or maybe the chocolate cake?!) Anyway, just go! There’s no way you’ll be disappointed. I promise U.P. North beats any other sandwich/sub shop in the area!!! It was the best dining experience we’ve had in a really long time.

Great hot sandwiches and cold. Unique fixings. Great staff, owner actively managing and greeting customers. They also have cheese cake, brownies and fudge, all made from scratch and in house. Up North also does catering.
I recommend this place. Love this place.

We love the pasties and everytime we go through Richland we stop by and pick up a few. They are so yummy, this time we ate in and picked up an extra dozen to take home with us!

It's such a great spot for Pastys to eat hot and fresh or take home frozen and bake yourself. I recommend the steak pasty and cheese curds with ranch. We'll have to visit again soon to explore more of the menu.

We ordered the chicken pasty and eggplant parmesan sandwich, a cream puff and a piece of chocolate cake. The food exceeded expectations, and the chef came out to make sure everything was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning soon.

Bought a dozen frozen pasties for the family next week. I live 45 miles away, but plan to come here again. 7/30/23....just today we finished up the pasties I bought previously....country gravy on the breakfast pasty, beef gravy on steak or burger pasty. What a meal! Was so good with fresh veggies.

Up North is the best place in Lower Michigan to get Pasties and their delicious gravy. The sandwiches and fries are absolutely delicious.

Love this place!! The staff is amazing, they are all so nice. And food is just downright delicious! I absolutely love their potato soup! We drive to Richland just for their food.

The pasties here are fantastic. We got Steak and Chicken warm, and they were a huge portion, lots of flavor. The crust was better than average, very hearty, had something that others don't have (maybe it was a whole wheat dough? Definitely something special). So good that we had to take some frozen , of which there are more choices. The prices are good, the folks that run the place are so nice. She let us know that with an hour's advance notice they can heat up any pasty even if it's only on the frozen menu.

Coming from a picky eater. Everything was FIRE! Amazing! No complaints. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Fantastic sandwich. Had the BBQ brisket and man, let me tell you, it was fantastic. The bread was nummy as well. Highly recommend.

The steak pasty with french fries is my favorite. It comes with brown gravy. The crust is very flaky and soft, but not too soft. The service is very quick and the people behind the counter are great! They have a beautiful assortment of desserts including fudge, cheesecake and pies too.
