i went in crying, (which was unrelated, i’m sorry about that) asking for a replacement of a vinyl i got the day before. they tried to clean it but did give another copy since there was a fat scratch on it. they were really empathetic, i have been going here for years as a teen in grand rapids who collects physical music. they always have a great selection at really good prices. and their second-hand vinyls are also great!

Soooooooooooooo MUCH VINYL!! Very Cool Old Skool Vinyl Spot! I could have spent an entire day just going thru bins and still not gotten thru them all. Staff was cool and knowledgeable as well. 5 Stars! Highly recommend. 😎

I live in Chicago and I have a good sized record collection. I hunt for rare records on Discogs, where a lot of local stores post their inventory online. I saw a record I wanted and was traveling to Grand Rapids for work for the week. I entered Vertigo Music and they had a wide variety of great music. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I inquired about the record and they looked for record in the back, which gave me time to look through their collection. They were so nice and apologized for making me wait as they looked for the record, that they even gave me a discount. I honestly didn’t mind waiting but that extra level of customer service was amazing. I highly recommend this awesome store!

Great selection of records and the prices are very fair! Found a pretty cool Metallica album that I feel like I wouldn't have found at a big box store. I always try to support independently owned record stores! Need to stop by again next time I'm in the area!

That hard-to-find record you want is probably here. Among the best record stores anywhere, certainly in Michigan. Terrific and reasonably priced used selection; solid post-punk, experimental, EDM, metal, and hip hop records, as well as everything else; friendly, knowledgeable service. Worth traveling for.

Great selection. Went here before I went out to dinner with my lady. We picked up a few albums. Will be back.

My daughter is on the hunt for Taylor Swift cds, so stopping at Vertigo was a done deal. This shop is packed from wall to wall with records, cd's, and even a few cassettes laying around. I love seeing our generation stuff, that's now called "classics" come back around. Keep strong Vertigo

I stumbled upon this record store in downtown Grand Rapids. It is, without a doubt, one of the best organized shops I’ve been in. Hats off to the staff for making a better shopping experience.

They have an inventory of about 2/3 LPs, 1/3 CDs and some cassettes in the mix. The selection of new and used vinyl are again about 1/4 new and 3/4 used. They seem to be discerning in the used LPs they take. There is a good mix of genres.

The employee working was extremely helpful with locating items. He even found a near mint condition LP for me. He went above and beyond to help me package my LP for travel. This led to a discussion about packaging LPs for shipment. I saw first hand that Vertigo carefully packages items in LP specific shipping cardboard.

I’ll plan to be back for future purchases online or when I visit Grand Rapids again. A great, if not exemplary example of a quality record shop

This place has all of the obscure stuff I'm looking for! This afternoon I found a copy of "Trout Harbors - The Hexagonal Hershey Foundation" on CD, an album I've been casually looking for for the last 8 years! I also love the FREE box of junk records and media in the doorway to the entrance! I found a sealed VHS copy of "How to Kill a Shump: After-Hours Unrated Cut." You can find some of the most obscure records of all time at Vertigo Music. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL COLLECTORS WHO CAN'T FIND THE OBSCURE STUFF THEY WANT!

Sometimes record stores can feel like High Fidelity. This is not one of them! Such a welcoming atmosphere, and the employees are very helpful. I was able to find a lot of used records I had been looking for and all priced very reasonably- most around $3.99! Overall I had a wonderful time visiting today, and I will be back!

I go here all the time, it's a really great place and a great location if you want to grab a bite to eat before or after (I personally recommend Two Beards just a block away). Heads up there is paid parking on weekdays during business hours. But it's worth it for the great selection of records and CDs. If they don't have something they almost always can order it within a week or two and you can come back and pick it up at no extra charge. I know of a few websites where you might be able to find deals on vinyl that are technically a little cheaper than coming to Vertigo, but then you have to deal with the uncertainty of the mailing process and the potential your goods get damaged in transit. This way Vertigo takes all the risk up front and you still get a fair price on your records. Plus you are supporting an awesome local business and all the cool staff they have that are so friendly and helpful. I love talking to the staff, they have great tastes and are eager to help you find what you're looking for at a fair price. I can't recommend this place enough!

A Grand Rapids institution. Best record store in the city. I’ve spent too much money here over the years. But it’s doesn’t feel like spending too much if it has all been worth it. And it has been worth it. The staff has always been so kind and helpful. I hope to continue going to vertigo for the many years to come!
