Great Experience. Very professional and accepts my Medicaid and Priority Health. $160.20 is not terrible for a basic pair of no line bifocal eyeglasses 👓.

Andrew Bringard, O.D., the optometrist, at Rxoptical on Apple Avenue is the best optometrist. I'm 61, and he is the only one that has actually explained a problem I've been having with my vision. He took the time to explain it in a way that made perfect sense.

Kelsey was great. Very intuitive with me since it’s my first set of glasses.

After a few positive visits, I have to say that my last visit was incredibly disappointing. One of the ladies incorrectly gave me the wrong time for my contact lens finalizing visit on my appointment card. I had to wait a solid month between my contact lens exam and the visit to finalize my prescription and then even longer to actually get my annual supply of lenses even though I had paid for them during my initial visit.

And the thing that really was the kicker was the staff's ignorance towards picking up the telephone! During my visit the ladies in the front did not answer the phone at all during the several times that it rang. It's no wonder why I had difficulty trying to reach anyone in the office when I needed to call up here.

I can understand being understaffed but it's really starting to rub off on your customer's experience. It's a shame, I liked going here in the past but this last experience really left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm seriously considering going somewhere different for my eye care needs.

I tend to have good experiences here which is why I’m leaving 2 stars. But the last time I went was pretty poor. After being told I’d have to get a whole new pair of glasses and take another eye test, the lady up front joked about my situation to “cheer me up.” I couldn’t find my phone to transfer money I didn’t plan on spending to my account today. “Rough day? You lost your phone, gotta get new glasses.” It was a pretty poor excuse of a joke.

The lady who did my test was cold and distant and clearly did not want to strike up a conversation.

The last lady, Shelly, was particularly egregious. She asked if I wanted blue light reduction on my glasses but I knew it was going to cost too much so I said no. She then doesn’t ask me about the warranty and I bring it up to her. “Oh, well i didn’t ask because I figured we were pinching pennies today.” She was very rude and also inept. She wasn’t sure how to handle my insurance and needed help figuring out the cost of everything for me. When I asked about some of the “finer details” she was clearly annoyed and said she wasn’t trying to cheat me out of my money.

I’m a 21-year-old college student looking to make things affordable. The fact that I paid $113 for this awful experience is why I don’t like going to appointments like this.

The only comparison I can make to visiting this eye doctor is going to a used car lot. 2 stars because this experience opened my eyes that when you go in for an annual vision exam you are actually going in to be sold glasses.

$145 for nothing. My insurance covers a standard eye exam once a year at no cost. I came in for this exam and I was very clear this is all I wanted. I did mention I was interested in contact lenses. The doctor performed the same standard exam that I get every year. At the end, she asked me a couple questions about contact lenses, two minutes total.

When I went to check out, the receptionist told me it was $145 for the contact lens exam and fitting. I told her I did not get a fitting as I have been wearing contact lenses for years. She said it is for the contact lens exam. I said that was a standard exam, what portion was specific contact lenses? She could not answer. I told her it was OK if she wanted to check with the doctor and that I would actually like to speak to the doctor.

After waiting for a while she came back out and informed me the $145 was for the exam. I asked her again to explain how it was different from the exam I get every year and she could not. She also mentioned future benefits if I get contacts from them. The Dr would not see me. Although this explanation did not satisfy me I agreed to pay the $145 just because I had been there for a long time waiting for an explanation.

My three children and I all wear glasses and/or contacts. Congratulations on getting your $145 for what seems to have been a two minute conversation. You will not be getting any more business from us.

I no problem paying for a service, but when the provider cannot explain what I am paying for that’s where I have a problem.

I walked out emtpy-handed, with no glasses after they took payment from my insurance for an eye exam. The receptionist was not forthcoming in letting me know up front that there was only one small selection of glasses that was covered by my insurance.
I walked in & stated that I wanted to find a pair of glasses I liked before making an appointment. I gave her my insurance information & she entered it into the system as I looked around. She told me about 2 other selections of glasses that were specific to other types of insurance but never once mentioned the type of insurance I had. I told her more than once that I did not have any money for extras. Not even for the eye x-ray that was going to be $44 out-of-pocket, so I was not able to have that done. I found a pair of glasses that I liked & she got me in for the appointment right then. After the exam, she proceeded to tell me that it was going to be a total of $179.00 out-of-pocket & after insurance! I walked out with nothing.
She knew what she did was not completely honest. I have already been in touch with Fatimah from Patient Relations. She wanted to give me a $30 credit on my account. That does not help me or rectify this experience & I said that to her. The right thing here would be that I walked out with a pair of glasses that the receptionist set an expectation that I would & could have.
I wish I had read the reviews before selecting this establishment. I hope my review deters anyone else from having the same service that I had. It appears from other reviews that customer satisfaction is not this companies top priority. This is not a business I can recommend.

Asked if they took my insurance yes they do so went thru with appointment exam and picked out a pair. Picking them up they charged me almost $900 dollars and also charged my insurance the same amount. Never charged that much in my life for glasses and was lead to believe insurance would cover.
