There were other locations we were ready to try but we close enough to give the original spot a drop-in. So glad we did! We came in right before the Sunday rush and ordered a Detroit Zoo 8-square with pepperoni and a small Greek salad. Look at that salad: perfect appetizer for us to snack on. The pizza came out nice and hot, the cheese pull was lovely. We really could have finished the whole thing but we had an early dinner to go to. Zeke was very pleasant and took very good care of us, drink refills just appeared, we didn't have to wave him down at all.

The neighborhood seems shady but, as a city girl, I didn't get any bad vibes at all. The patrons were all extremely diverse, exactly what Detroit is. Good parking lot with plenty of spots.

Absolutely delicious food all around. Service was great. Atmosphere was wonderful. Our waitress was super helpful with offering recommendations. The meatballs with garlic bread are a must try. We also have the 4 square pizzas. Each one is enough for 2 people. We had the Greektown, detrioter and spicy Italian pizzas. Would definitely get any of them again!

I came from across the border to try this famed pizza that had such a good reputation and was not at all disappointed. If you have never tried Detroit style pizza this is the place to try it - although I doubt there is anywhere else that could satisfy your newfound craving.

I came in after a good day of exploring the beautiful areas of Detroit and Dearborn and had a meal that absolutely hit the spot. I personally ordered a personal 4-square sized Detroiter without pepperoni and it was fantastic. The pie has the perfect crispy crust, holding the tasty meld of Wisconsin brick cheese,
tomato basil sauce, shaved Parmesan cheese and
Buddy’s Sicilian spice blend.

If I ever come back I will definitely have to revisit. Dejuan was such an amazing host and made the experience great.

Was in town visiting from Canada...had to check the original Buddy's out. Simply delicious. The crust, sauce, salad, service...all fantastic. It's great to see Detroit style pizza getting Its long overdue praise. This place is still the standard all should be measured by.

It's one of those cool places that's been around forever and when you are close you have to stop by! Super friendly staff and patrons. The ambiance is very cool and takes you back in time. I visited with my wife and mother in-law. We shared the medium side salad and it was more than enough for all three of us to have two small plates. My mother-in-law and I shared the 8 square Sicilian and finished half, it was delicious! My wife had the gluten free crust and was pleased with the way it tasted. I would definitely return and recommend it if you are in town.

When in Detroit what are the foods you have to eat. One: #DetroitStylePizza Two: #VernorsGingerSoda Where to get both? Answer: #BuddysPizza on Conant (6 Mile) in Detroit. They are the originators of Detroit Style Pizza! We arrived there during the Detroit Lions game on the TV so they were busy, however they had a seat for us right away next to the Bar. We started with the Vernors Ginger Soda, Aged in oak barrels for three years before being bottled and shipped out. They had it on Tap. As the waitress said “we Drink Vernors in Michigan”. It was very good, smooth, I like it, A uniquely flavored Ginger ale. We then enjoyed a wonderful #CaesarSalad made with a fantastic house made dressing and lots of shaved #Parmesan I should’ve bought a bottle of Buddy’s Classic Caesar dressing to bring home, the salad was so good. For Detroit Pizza we ordered 4Squares each of #BBQConant Wisconsin brick cheese, grilled chicken, red onions, fresh cilantro and Buddy's BBQ sauce. The brick cheese gave it great flavor and the BBQ sauce created a lovely sweetness. The #SpicyItalian Motor City cheese blend, Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, garlic, tomato basil sauce and Buddy's Sicilian spice blend. It was very tasty one of the best Detroit pizzas I’ve had. Loved the roasted red pepper and tomato Basil sauce. We finished the meal, satiated, and very happy. The service was friendly, and sweet. We hope to return to enjoy more Detroit Pizza at Buddy’s.

Originally wanted to grab takeout from Loui’s but the wait for pickup was too long (40mins on a Sunday night ) and had buddys as my backup. I should’ve went to buddys to begin with because this might be the best pizza I’ve had in my life.

Ordered the 4 square Hawaiian to go and only took 15 ish mins. It came out piping hot and I knew I had to eat it asap. The dough was crispy but sooo light and fluffy. I’ve had 2-3 squares and it didn’t feel heavy at all. I would definitely recommend and regret not ordering more since I came from Canada.

A must eat in the motor city. I’ve had pizza all around the world and the first thing I think of when I think of good pizza is Buddy’s! The Detroiter is the best way to go

Incredible Detroit style pizza. The crust is excellent, it's perfectly crispy all the way around and very flavourful. Wide selection of topping options, and you can also build your own pizza. I personally tried the Sicilian which was very good.

My only gripe is with the tomato sauce, which could use more garlic to pack a stronger flavour punch.

Was in town for the LL Cool J concert and was looking for some pizza. Buddy's did not disappoint! We got the 4 corners and it was definitely big enough for both of us. Pizza came out hot and fresh, I am definitely a fan of the cheese they used on our pizza!

My husband was on a quest for the best, original recipe Detroit style pizza, and we found it here. This is THE BEST pizza I've ever had. I also tried the Vernon's Float and it was delicious!

Pizza was really good. I love a deeper crust!!!!!! The Wisconsin Brick cheese was 🔥👌service was good. We will go back when back in town. We got the 4 square 6 Mile and garlic bread. Added cheese to garlic bread!!!!! Highly reccomend

First Detroit pizza, paying respect to the OG. Incredible golden brown butter crust. I now understand the hype.

I saw the reviews and they didn't disappoint. I wanted to try a classic Detroit style pizza. I had the Detroiter. It was really good. I am used to deep dish pizza that is round. This was similar but square. I also tried the minestrone soup. It was nothing like I had before. It was more creamy textured. I really liked it.

To sum it up in one word .... Amazing!!! The crust was unlike anything we have had before and the cheese and toppings were just perfect. The service is also excellent and they have a wide variety of pizzas and sandwiches that you can try out from. Did I mention the desserts? They are excellent too. Definitely make it a point to go there if you are visiting Detroit.

Our server was very nice. She took the time to talk to us and walked us through the menu. when we left she wished us a safe flight back to our home state. It was nice to have a server who paid attention and remembered details about her customers. The food was great. This was my first Detroit style pizza. It was delicious. I highly recommend Buddy's if you're in Detroit.

Pizza was delicious...nice crisp with little grease lots of cheese and really good bacon! Garlic bread was really good with a little bit of a chunky sauce that I absolutely loved...ranch was also a hit.

Our Senior Diva Lunch Group ♥ had lunch because I choose it as my January Birthday location. Food was hot and good. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Great gathering location.

As an out of town Lions fan, stopping here is an absolute must when I Detroit. We bellied up to the bar, as we always do, and the Bartender, (Janice?... I really hope I didn't get that wrong), was as knowledgeable as they come, and really damn good at her job.

The food was exactly what we hoped for and expected...good pizza, mac-n-cheese, Caesar salad, and DAMN that Minestrone.

This place, specifically the one on 6-Mile, is just an absolute must when you're in the D!
