This is THE old school Italian deli shop that you need to visit. The sandwiches are all made with fresh ingredients that you can taste with every bite. The meatloaf on Wednesday's are to die for. I've learned quickly that they sell out by 11am, so if you ever want to try their meatloaf make sure to call in to reserve yourself a plate.

It's been awhile since I wrote a review and this coupled with COVID protocols and so many businesses not meeting the standards I want to mention a business that does the right thing while still putting out the most delicious dishes daily. The sign outside clearly says no more than 4 people at a time. Regulars faithfully line up to wait their turn to pick up fabulous lunches and in my case I'm picking up our dinner as well. Gino puts out daily specials Monday through Saturday. He offers a homemade soup every day (all of them are delicious), several hot dishes are available each day, salads i.e.. he gives you a fresh salad base but you can pick from the many dishes to create your own personal creation. He is very accommodating to his customers. Everything from grilled chicken on salad to a scoop of this and a scoop of that from the numerous cold delights he makes. His sun dried tomatoes for example are off the hook. The fresh mozzarella salad, cannelloni beans in seasoned oil, the pasta salad with cold cuts, the olives, two tuna's Italian version and mayo version, sautéed veggies etc. Been coming here for more than 30 years, love the people, love the food and love the fact that I know my lunch or dinner will be fabulous, fresh and memorable. Lately I have become a fixture as life has been so busy there has not been much time for cooking. One big tip...come early in the day, his specials can go really fast. He makes a ton every day but his regulars know there are a lot of us who stop in all the time. He also offers grocery items like pasta, jarred specialties, oils etc. Stop by and checks out the selection

So beware that once you’ve had one of their sandwiches, you’ll be hooked. But that’s ok since they are very reasonable priced for the size portion and quality. Fast pleasant service every time and simply worth spending most of your stimulus check on!

Aside from the great food, the customer service that Gino offers is exceptional. In the winter months Gino offers 5 to 6 different kinds of soups. (Soup of the day). Friday is usually my favorite since he adds fish & seafood salad to the menu. Gino is a humble old school Italian guy that brings traditional value to the "old Italian deli in the neighborhood" that everyone loves to visit.

I was living close by since the late 70s until the mid 80s. It was great back then and is still great now. Wish I could have this close to Miami now. Excellent food and service all around, the best.

I am adding this update to my review because thanks must be shared. For the first time in my life, I catered my Christmas Eve get together because we have just been so busy. Every single one of my guests said how terrific the food was. I had people asking me if they could have a dish to take home before I had the chance to offer. Gino and the crew's love and care showed in every dish we had. Needless to say, my future parties of any kind will have LaBella as a huge part of the event! So happy to back in the neighborhood and near La Bella. Gino's kitchen prepares fabulous hot specials daily. Huge Tip! Get there early. Everyone knows the specials are delicious and they go quickly. They make plenty of trays but they are so popular in the area that if you wait you may miss out. Not just Italian either, their empanada's, rice dishes, pork tenderloin are all fabulous. If you want a sandwich you can never go wrong with his homemade roast beef. I get a roast beef and fresh mozzarella on Italian roll probably once a week. The homemade potato, green bean salad has been one of my favorites for over 20 years! A must try

My Fav Deli In Union City. They haven't changed which is a good thing. Greatly priced and great Subs. I plan on making a little trip there very soon. Thanks for keeping it classic !

Awesome Deli in the heart of Union City. It's a true Italian owned family for a really long time now and their food and service shows! Get there early or order before as things run out fast and the line gets LONG!

Had my dads birthday party catered from here. The food was excellent. Chicken Marsala, sausage, peppers, onions, antipasto and baked ziti. Can’t go wrong with this place.

On Italian Bread.

This delicious sandwich will feed two moderately hungry people or one very hungry person. So good.

Bought a couple of sandwiches and a chix soup, very happy 😊 with my lunch, lived in this ares for almost 10 years, never knew this store was there, they been there for 35 years, IL be back soon

Best Italian Deli in Hudson County...been there forever...if you want a hot lunch go before 12:30 all the food will be gone...best eggplant parm too
