I was so excited to go to Tatchen’s 10 course tasting menu dinner and it did not disappoint!! Chef Mike is a food genius. The dishes he created were delicious and well thought out. He described each course in detail and smiled as we all enjoyed his food experience. I will definitely be back for lunch. Oh, and he makes his own bread and chocolate chip cookies too. Doesn’t get any better!

Tatchens is the hidden gem in central NJ. The sandwiches are creative and made with local ingredients. The soups are almost unbelievable with how delicious they are! Home made bread, btw. You have to check this pace out!!!!!!

Had a great experience here. Walked in for lunch the other day and the man I believe to be the owner and chef greeted us. He was extremely nice and helpful with letting us know about the menu items. The chicken salad sandwich and the mushroom soup is an awesome combo for a cold day. Love it here and will be returning often! Great little gem and a MUST HAVE if you are in the area.

Mike hands down is a great chef! I had the honor to cook next to him and he taught me some of his tricks of the trade. I know his food is awesome first hand. Keep up the good work. He’s a soup genius. And his creativity is second to none!!

As soon as I walked in I knew that this place was good. The owner made me try all his soups cause I told him it was my first time there. They were all excellent. Couldn’t decide. 😂 I decided on the mushroom soup & rib eye sandwich. They were delicious!! I will be back. I highly recommend this place. A+ all the way!!

Absolutely outstanding in every way. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel like a friend. It's so quick and easy to go in for lunch and get the best soups, salads and sandwiches made with care from fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. I can't wait to join them for one of their special dinner tasting menus. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Elevated deli experience. The sandwiches and soups are made with locally sourced ingredients. The way everything is prepared you can tell is done by someone who is classically trained.

Was looking for a new place to try some lunch and me and my wife stumbled across Tatchens. We came in and were immediately greeted by a gentleman with some soup samples that were to die for. All made from scratch. The two sandwiches we ordered were awesome and the breads were homemade, by him, every day. This gentleman really pours his heart and soul into his business, and it shows. I will be back and I recommend you to give it a try.

I went here to pickup an order for Handcrafted Chocolate and I decided to also get lunch. I was more than pleasantly surprised. Mike was so nice and let us try a bunch of his different delicious homemade soups. He makes his own bread and I can honestly say it is some of the best I have ever had. The ribeye sandwich was absolutely amazing as well; you can tell he only uses fresh quality ingredients. This is definitely a hidden gem and I will absolutely be back.

Tucked away gem. Bread rolls are amazing. Ingredients are super fresh. Soups are perfect. And the service provided by Mike is outstanding. Chicken Salad was like "mom" would make. Ribeye is tender and flavorful. Take the time to find this place.

Wow! Best prime rib roast beef sandwich ever! Tender, roasted to a perfect medium rare, flavorful and on a freshly baked rye roll made by the chef this morning! I got to taste most of the soups and enjoyed the creamy shrimp chowder with my sandwich. We brought containers of the broccoli soup and black bean soup home with us to enjoy with dinner tonight. I Highly recommend you check out this restaurant!!!

Impressively delicious. High quality. Home made breads for the sandwiches. Interesting sandwiches and great soups. Chef Mike makes it all with love and attention. Went there today for lunch and highly recommend it. I liked it so much I got each of his soups to go so I can enjoy for the next couple of days.

Local gem. Great deli items. The Broccoli soup, corn Chowder soup, turkey sandwich and cold watermelon ginger soup were all delicious. The bread is freshly made. The owner Mike was pleasant and the food is reasonably priced. We will go back and definitely recommend 👌

One of my teammates took me here for lunch and it was amazing. I tried her favorite sandwich, which was the Sweet Potato and it was so good. The roll was so fluffy and fresh. We were offered so many different soups to try, which was very nice. I took home the Tomato Soup which was also incredible. We ended our lunch with delicious cookies too. Make sure you check the menu, it changes every week!

If you are looking for a great place for lunch alternative to fastfood, try this place. Soup, salad and/or sandwich. Love the concept of the menu, simple and quick. Chef Mike, gives you a sample tasting of his soups while you contemplate what you want. Checkout the website for weekly specials. The creamier soups were well seasoned (corn or mushrooms soups) but the others could use a little more salt/seasoning. It would be great for those that are on low sodium diet and maybe that was his purpose. I had the grown up tuna and roast beef sandwich and it was spot on. Perfectly cooked roasted beef and tuna was fresh. The bread that the sandwiches comes on were so soft and found out he bakes them every morning. Will definitely come back to try the other sandwiches and their salad. He also does tasting menus on the weekends. Ask him about it.

Loved it. The owner puts his all into his recipes. Soup and sandwiches are so good and inventive. The tasting dinners are amazing.

Visited this place while staying in Hazlet. A short half hour trip that was worth it. The roast beef had an amazing sauce and the cheddar was fantastic. The sweet potato sandwich was a wonderful mix of flavors. The squash soup was seasoned perfectly and the spicy corn chowder had great flavor and texture. There's a reason this place has the rating it has.

This is the way fast food should be. Quality was exceptional, friendly owner behind the counter, faster than any fast food joint. This is a definite recommend for anyone looking for real food, fast. Oh yeah, and the price, for the quality, is also excellent.
