Takara Japanese Steakhouse

I almost didn't go to Takara because of the negative reviews, but I'm so glad I ignored them and took a chance. I don't know what any of those negative reviewers were talking about. The food was EXCELLENT!! Hibachi is so much fun! The portions were huge and we all received evenly served portions, as you can see in my photos (1 of which was taken after I took several bites of steak and vegetables). Everything was flavored beautifully and nothing needed extra seasoning. We ordered sushi appetizers, a cocktail and hibachi entrées. We asked for water and were offered a choice of tap or bottled. Kosher food is always more expensive but that is expected. The prices were on par with other kosher hibachi and you will pay the same or more for kosher steak anywhere. The mashgiyachs even placed the meat on the hibachi grills themselves! Usually in restaurants you never even see the mashgiyach so it's nice to know that they are actively involved in making sure your meal is handled properly. As hibachi is so much fun for kids, I would like to see them add a children's menu. We had to order my kid an adult meal, but leftovers will be enjoyed tomorrow! We moved to NJ from NY just under 2 years ago so we have very high standards when it comes to restaurants and food, and Takara does not disappoint!

So beautiful place . Friendly staff very nice management especially they have vegans hibachi special .we ordered vegan shrimp poke bowl for appetizer so....yummy. Then we ordered vegan shrimp . Beef and vegan scallop are great taste . Love it . We will be back to try more vegan specials thanks Takara

Food was beyond delicious, so entertaining how the food is cooked right in front of you! Great customer service. Best place to get dinner!

Whenever I personally go the place is dead which is fabulous because our food comes out very quickly. The sushi and sashimi are always fresh and presented in a beautiful form. Their koifish pond with bonsai is a beautiful relaxing view especially with the waterfall built in it. This place has a full bar as well and their cocktails are delish. Overall I love their food, the speedy service and the atmosphere. Totally recommend dining in as they also have hibachi.

Mt wife and I had a great dinner there. Everybody is so nice and the food is delicious. We are planning to take our family there. If you've never had hibachi, it's worth the experience.

Recently moved to Ocean and have been wanting to try this place. Grabbed a drink and some sushi late last night with my husband. Reasonably priced drinks, delicious food. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

First time at takara this weekend and it was great! As soon as I entered I was blown away by the interior decor. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our hibachi chef, Jimmy, put on a great show for my kids and everybody loved him. The fireball appetizer was probably the best thing I have ever eaten, my wife had the NY steak hibachi which was delicious. We also split 2 rolls, the black angel roll and a chef specialty roll of lucifer. They were both fresh and extremely scrumptious. I will definitely be coming back, seeing as how I haven't stopped thinking about their food since I left. Cheers!

Went on a Wednesday night because we had a groupon. I'm soo glad we did! It was the best miso soup and kani salad we've ever had. We shared 3 rolls and were completely full. Decor is wonderful and the service was quick and polite. We will definitely be back!!

Great fun Kosher restaurant. Kids enjoyed. The on the table cooking is super exciting and a fun experience for all. The restaurant is a little price high but that's what's needed to keep it Kosher. All around a fun experience.

Hands down the best sushi at the jersey shore. The fish is so fresh that I might as well be swimming with the fishies:) The service is excellent and the drinks compliment the food perfectly;) I recommend this restaurant to all my friends when they ask about a great place to dine around here. Takara makes you feel at home with a friendly staff. The cozy asian decor tops off my five star review along with the fact they are one of the only hibachi restaurants that will let you eat hibachi in the dining room, party room, or even in their authentic japanese tatami rooms!! Great place to bring a date <3 Takara Japanse Steak House is a true hidden gem. Can't wait to go back!!!

The food is awesome and there desserts are insainly good. One of my best friend's mom and Dad own this place. I go here a lot to hang out with my friend. There Japanese Soda's are also amazing.

I've been here with friends and family many a time and it has been excellent every time. They have excellent food with both accurate cultural foods and a section for hibachi. The food is a bit expensive but definitely worth it.

Great place. Very sensitive to needs of privacy. I went there on a date, they have a quiet section behind the regular dining/party room, and they knew not to come to many times and disturb. Best place!

I adore this restaurant. The food and service are great and consistent. I never had the hibachi, but I have eaten in the little private rooms which was super fun.

We ordered the boneless ribeye , dark meat chicken, surprise steak , and more and it was all so delicious! Very happy with the food, show, and service . Will come again!

We have a nice time celebrating a birthday here. We were a group of 15 and we were entertained and fed well.

Now that they are JSOR supervised, we had the chance to try it. It was delicious, and the hibatchi show was great! Definately going to go back with the whole family!
