Abby's services are unmatched! She tailored a dress for my daughter's junior prom that was no easy task, as it had a crazy number of appliques that needed to be removed and replaced. She did a phenomenal job! We, of course, had to return for her senior prom dress, which she special ordered for my daughter. Then she tailored and added special beading, per our request. She is sweet and accommodating and her prices are fantastic!

Abby is the best! She turned my mom’s wedding dress into a cocktail dress for my rehearsal dinner for my wedding. The dress is 39 years old, and was too small to zip up the back passed my waist. She didn’t think twice about that and just asked “okay so how do you want it to look?” and worked her magic! I am beyond happy with how it turned out, and got so many compliments on the beautiful job she did. I highly recommend Abby 💗

Abby is amazing! After reaching out to her in a panic with my wedding dress, she went above and beyond to help anyway she could in the short time frame I had. She was able to complete my alterations on short notice and the end result was nothing short of spectacular. Highly recommend and plan on going back in the future for other events and services. We have been using Abby's Sew Right for alterations for years. I am one of 3 sisters, and we have definitely put Abby to work! I had purchased my wedding dress from Abby, and not only did she have an amazing selection, but SHE personally, pulled a dress for me, based on what I told her I was looking for, out of a shipment that just came in that day- and it was the dress! She was extremely accommodating for me, as the bride, as well as all my sisters who had alterations with her.
My mom even picked a dress that she did not like the style of because it had sleeves, but liked the dress and the fit, so Abby changed the entire top of the dress to a halter, and did it flawlessly!
All Shortman girls could not be happier with the outstanding service Abby provided, and the fun, personal environment of her shop.

After shopping at three other shops in the area I found my dress at Abby’s Sew Right. Her selection was up-to-date, plentiful without being overwhelming, name brand, and affordable! I was welcomed by her and her staff and was given free range to look at her selection, while also having her staff pull gowns that I described/showed pictures of. Abby’s attention to detail is unbelievable and she is beyond talented in her abilities. I did not, at any point, feel like I was dealing with a bridal factory, judged (like I did at other shops) or rushed. Although the shop is very busy in its growing popularity, I never once felt like I was not important. Abby took care of me like I was one of her own. Highly recommend.

Abby did a wonderful job with my wedding dress!! She was so fun to try on dresses with, and when it came time for alterations she did a phenomenal job making sure I could wear my dress without a bra - for a very reasonable price! She made my bustle so easy for my mom and bridesmaids. Abby is amazing and I would highly recommend having her alter your wedding dress!! (Photo is the only one I have of the bustle)

Abby was an angel and saved my sanity! I went to Nazli in Ridgewood and she turned my dress down because it was “too much work”. Nazli was so sweet so I don’t want to bash her but I was 2 months out from my wedding and was under the impression that she’d get the job done. I called 2 other tailors that said it would be impossible to get my dress done in less than 2 months. I then saw Abby and she was so ridiculously sweet and was confident that she can get my dress done in time. I only went to 2 fittings and she did everything I wanted for such a low price. She hemmed my dress, removed 2 layers of crinoline, took in my dress 2 sizes because I lost weight, added an American bustle, added lace to my bodice, and completely altered my neckline. All this for $760 in less than 2 months- she’s seriously amazing!

Abby really saved the day! I bought my dress in 2020 (I was a Covid bride!) from David's Bridal and didn't love the idea of doing my alterations there as well. I came to Abby on a recommendation and I'm SO glad I did! The photos speak for themselves and the way she made my dress fit made me feel like a princess on my big day. Don't hesitate, go see her!

I picked up my bridesmaid dress tonight & even though they were super busy & backed up due to unforeseen circumstances, Abby was still very accommodating & attentive. She did a beautiful job on my dress & fixed a weirdly manufactured stitch on the front of the dress & made it look perfect & seamless. She is a perfectionist & really pays attention to detail. I highly recommend her and her work. Diana who works the front desk is also amazing. She went above & beyond to accommodate everyone in the facility & make sure they were well taken care of.

Abby is the absolute best. The sweetest person you'll ever meet who also does incredible work! Abby worked on the alterations for my wedding dress and my mom's mother of the bride dress. She listened to all of our wants while also making professional suggestions to give us the best outcome. When I started having some stress and anxiety about my dress, Abby let me come in and worked through it with me. Our dresses fit perfectly, and we received so many compliments! Abby had everything - the most beautiful bridesmaid dresses for my girls, my mom’s gorgeous “mother of the bride” dress, and my stunning rehearsal dinner dress. My girls occasionally had difficulty getting in touch with Abby, however we see just how hardworking Abby is. She offers such excellent attire and services. This is truly her passion. Give her grace - she is fun and so worth working with!

I got both of my recital gowns from Abby, and I have gotten more compliments on them than on any other dress I've gotten! She does beautiful work tailoring them quickly and without hassle. I get all my dresses from Abby's now!

Abby is fantastic. I showed her a picture of an example dress and 2 seconds later she had my dress picked out. I tried on others and that was the one I ended up with. My timeline was tight but she made alterations quickly with attention to detail and precision. Abby is so positive and patient there were times I would be undecided about what I wanted but she showed me different ideas. I never felt rushed.

My wedding dress shopping experience at Abby's was truly fantastic. Abby has a wonderful personality and made me feel so comfortable. I found out about Abby’s Sew Right when I went with my friend 2 years ago to get her wedding dress altered. When I was there, I saw the most beautiful dress that I fell in love with. I took a picture and knew I would go back to Abby’s when I got engaged. 2 years later, it finally happened! I went back to Abby’s and took the picture of the beautiful dress with me. At my appointment I wanted to try on a variety of dresses and thanks to the help of Abby and Emily every dress I wore I loved, but none of them were the one. I showed Abby the picture of the dress I loved 2 years ago and she luckily still had it! I tried it on, and it was the perfect dress for me! I even cried when Emily placed the vail on my head. When you are wearing your dress, you just know! Abby and Emily made my experience so unforgettable with my family and gave me my perfect dress! I would highly recommend Abby and her team for any wedding dress needs!

Abby is amazingly kind and patient. I originally bought and returned my dress from David’s bridal as I felt pressured to purchase it when I came to Abby’s she allowed me to try on as many dresses I wanted and actually encouraged me to sleep on my decision which I did and went back a week later to purchase. We ended up purchasing my bridesmaids dresses (9) with her she was very patient with all my girls and clipped the dresses so you could picture what they would look like when they fit. The only thing I would say is recently it has been hard getting in touch with her but this is due to COVID restrictions she only works during appointments. Would definitely recommend Abby and her team, they made my experience very special

I highly recommend going to Abby for your alteration needs!! I had a wedding sneak up on me and need a quick fix on a dress. Abby was up front and clear about any additional costs because of a rush. She was so incredible to work with and my dress fit perfectly!! 10/10!

I went today just to see what I liked. All the staff was so fantastic and helpful. The whole reason I went to that store is to try on Stella York dresses. Abby handpicked my dress from Casablanca just by talking to me. I didn't want to try it on and immediately when I put the dress on I fell in love. Once I stood in front of my family I started to cry. The personal service and expertise that Abby brought was totally worth the 45 minute drive I had. Just a friendly and happy group working together and she knows exactly how to make a bride smile. If you are looking for any type of gown I strongly suggest you go to Abby.

Abby is truly gifted at her profession. I needed a 3-layer bridesmaid dress hemmed a week before the wedding and she accepted the challenge with grace, despite a very busy schedule. The dress turned out beautiful and on time. I highly recommend her services!
