Stillwater Prairie Reserve

Blue jays, blue birds and blue ash trees. Restrooms heated and well maintained. Paths were easily accessible on foot, mostly gravel, some paved.

You can use your phone to access special recordings along the way. Off the path natural play areas that promote imagination. Enjoy woods, water, flowers and covered picnic areas. Original homestead on site. Good time for families as well to burn off some calories and energy. Calm, pleasant environment. We saw some joggers here as well.

Well I ended up at another, it seems, Stillwater Preserve. It's named the same but not the same Praire. Hmmm..anyway, another AWESOME Preserve today. It's beautiful. Long winding trails. This preserve reminds me of Renaissance. It's fairytale forest. Just beautiful w/ the flowing river. It's very peaceful, quiet. I was waiting for a knight to come around the corner at any moment. Great place for a 1st date, walk-n-talk, get-to-know them. Great for children to learn about the not so fast paced life. Scenic. Beauty. I loved it! ♥

Great place to take the grand kids fishing! We took them for the first time, they are 5,6and7 years old. We baited hooks and took off the fish. They ended up with 46 bluegills total and keep busy for three hours with no issues. Also They have the nicest and cleanest restrooms that have been used recently

Stillwater is a great place to go hiking and walking! I’m so happy that it’s in my area because it’s such a good place to have fun at. You can fish, hike, and play in the river (in a certain area). In the area where a lot of people are playing in the water and soaking in the sunlight, I like to go minnow catching and crawdad hunting. The minnows are SO abundant in the area it’s crazy and the crawdads aren’t to hard to find either. So it gives me a fun game to play trying to catch them. After I’m done with them I just release them back in the water and head home.
The reserve also has a couple of shelters, including one that they recently added that comes with places to put your pots and I’m pretty sure there are outlets on the support beams of the structure. So it’s a cool place to have a family gathering or a birthday party!
But on to hiking. About 2-3 years ago they added a suspension bridge over the river so you can more easily access the Maple Ridge portion of the reserve. I just love to stop in the middle of the bridge to look at the fish, usually decently sized coy, lazily swimming below me. So the suspension bridge that they added is great! But about the trails, the actual material they used is gravel, so if you don’t want the annoying rocks getting into your shoes and poking at your feet then I’d wear tight-closing shoes. But it’s great they’re using gravel because it’s more economically safe than asphalt or concrete.
In conclusion, Stillwater Prairie Reserve is a GREAT place to bring the family to enjoy some of Ohio’s amazing scenery. To have fun with the family. And to ENJOY yourself.

Still water is beautiful and clean. The trails are very moderate so perfect for families with small children

One of the most beautiful parks in the state. I had a wonderful hike and enjoyed all the colors and scents of the late summer early fall time. Stillwater is so quiet and peaceful I love spending my time here amongst all of nature.

There is trails, fishing spots, and picnic areas. They are always well taken care of and there is plenty to see. There are deer, rabits, squirrels, and various birds to name a few.

My family loves to visit this preserve! The woods area has a natural play space for children, the wide, shallow river is a safe and scenic place for children to play in & out of the water. With walking trails, super CLEAN restrooms (which is rare), makes this place a beautiful, free, place to spend quality, family time.

Stillwater Prairie Reserve has so much to offer from prairie to wetlands and boardwalk near the river to suspension bridge across the river. Natural play area with a storybook trail and real bathrooms with flush toilets year-round!

Loved this park! Well maintained pathways, clear signage, multiple parking lots. I also love the conservation of the land and wetlands there. Many insects, flowers, and birds to look at.

They have many cool upgrades including a natural play area. Every time I visit Ohio, I stop by the prairie. It is so peaceful.

Went to a date night sunset canoe event here. It could have been a bit better organized but it was a lot of fun and the reserve was beautiful and well maintained. We plan on coming back and going to other events!

This is a beautiful and well maintained park even after inches of rain and early March, the grounds and paths were neat, wide with a thick base of gravel. The bathroom was immaculately clean !! I will be back!!!
