OPPENHEIMER HISTORY! I drove here just to do a little research on Robert Oppenheimer before watching the movie. This is a small museum, but does provide some background information on the whole Manhattan Project and Robert Oppenheimer. It was definitely worth my time! :-)

The museum is nicely done and explains much of the history of the area and the Manhattan Project. There is a main building and several other houses, including the Oppenheimer house (not open while we were there). The docents were excellent at providing information and color.

Important part of history that most of us know very little about. The story of how this all happened is so interesting. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and informative.

Wow -we spent three hours here. We took the guided tour, and then spent some time on our own. Covers prehistory to contemporary times and covers the Manhattan Project in great detail. Fascinating. I thought I knew a lot about this and I was stunned at how much I learned here.

A very informative museum, specifically about the history of Los Alamos before the government took over the plateau. The docent working the front desk was very friendly and provided a lot of additional information.

Wow. What a surprise. The museum was well managed and the interpreters were knowledgeable. The museum is in the actual buildings and locations of the original boys school and then the Manhattan Project. But as amazing is the geology, paleontology, and landscape. It's well worth the 40 minute drive from Santa Fe.

Amazing to learn the details of the Manhattan Project. The docents are super knowledgeable and easy to speak with. When was the last time you saw a Nobel Prize?

Had great time seeing and learning history of the area. I recommend the guided tour to get a great one day history lesson from a very knowledgeable guide. They have been doing it so long that they know any questions you ask they can answer you then.

Visited the Los Alamos History Museum in December of 2022 before the Oppenheimer movie was released. Enjoyed the museum and the fuller lodge, which is where he made the speech after it was announced that the bomb was used in the war. Take your time reading the year by year timeline they have and then watch the movie

This book is fantastic for introducing the concept of Los Alamos to a young child who hasn't been there and helping them understand its significance. I purchased a T-shirt for my nephew and wanted a simple way to explain to him why it was cool, and this book was exactly what I was looking for.
