We had a fabulous time fishing with Trout Stalkers. We had four boats. Some experienced fisher people and others with no experience at all. Our guides gave us excellent instruction and were super knowledgeable of the river and area also. We can't wait to come back again.

First class guided fishing experience on the infamous Madison River Valley. Nick took me from never having casted to catching trout in under an hour. Great mix of learning and having fun.

Short notice rent of equipment but accommodated me easily, loved my day on the Madison despite the wind 😁, very impressed

My friends and I fished with Trout Stalkers last year. These guys know what they are doing when it comes to the Madison River. They've got the best guides in the region without a doubt. The shop is great as well. After getting off the river we got a beer next door and sat on the porch for a while with the owner and our guide. It was nice to feel like we were welcome even after such a long day. We will definitely be back.

I've been fishing with Joe for about 20 years and never had a bad day. There is something special and infectious in his enthusiasm for the Madison Valley and all things trout. In my experience all around world I've never fished with such great people in such an amazing setting. I've very much a do-it-myself fisherman, but when it comes to the Big Sky country of SW Montana, I highly recommend letting Joe hook you up with a world class trip. Also, just as note, we've started doing cast n' blast trips with Joe where we incorporate some upland bird shooting. It's a nice way to break up a trip and there a plenty of beautiful places to shoot.

July 12 we rented two boats for a full day on the Madison ( Windy Pt to McAtee). My guide was Jason and the young man who guided my sons’ boat did a fantastic job as well.

My compliments for an epic float trip. Jason not only helped me understand the science of fly fishing but also the art of it. I learned in that 6+ hours with him more than I did over the last 20 years. I walked away with a renewed and invigorated passion for the sport, one that had been waning in the struggle to make sense of the art.

After a week of frustrating results from “hack” fly fishing I expected a long day in the hot sun. What I experienced was a 7 hr. trip that was non stop “catching.” There was a fish on the line as we set out and one on when we were pulling in, and a fish on the line every 10 to 15 minutes (for 6+ hrs.). I will always remember the adrenalin when a massive brown trout tried to swallow a small rainbow already on the line. A little more patience I might have gotten both.

My gratitude to Jason , this was a trip that I had dreamed of for years. And that the success of the trip was not only its results but the knowledge and confidence that Jason was able pass on to me. My only regret (other than that big brown) was that the trip was on our last day there instead of our first.

Booked a multi-day trip with Troutstalkers. It was as good as it gets for a high end fly fishing experience. I am experienced fly fisherman with high expectations and consider this to be one of the best trips in North America. The guides are as good as anyone in the US in terms of knowing how to catch fish; educating the customers on technique and the local environment; and being good to hang out with.

Fishing the Madison in Montana is awesome and the only guide I would consider is from Troutstalkers. I look forward to returning.

Joe and his staff have guided my family several times down the Madison River. Each is very knowledgeable of the river and surroundings. I highly recommend at least a day trip. We could not have had a better time.

Joe and his team of guides are the professional fly fishing outfiters in the Madison Valley and surrounding area. I have been fishing in the Valley since 1993 and have come back to them many times. They are capable of guiding people at all experience levels and ages.

Fished the Missouri with Joe in September 2013. One of the most productive days (size X number) of fly fishing that I have had. Joe put us on fish with great knowledge of the river and did a great job mixing up the flies until we found what worked.

Scenery, food, drink and company weren't so bad either!

Great guys and guides, and the shop is stocked with everything you need to go fish or bring back as souvenirs. We hooked 2 dozen trout on a 4-hour float with Joey on the Madison - a tremendous, memorable experience!

Montana Trout Stalkers is an amazing little fly shop that has all the essential flies/gear, guides, and of course the G bar. I make a point to swing in and get the goods from MTS before and after each trip to the upper madison. With Joe's experience and his knowledge of the river, its hard to have a bad day on the water.

For the second year in a row my dad and I have enjoyed going out on the river with Troutstalkers. Our guide, Justin, never fails to put us right on the fish. His patience, expertise, and ample supplies of snacks (particularly the local jerky) make for an excellent, fun-filled day on the Madison. Thanks again to Troutstalkers and Justin, we will be back!
