we absolutely love this park. my 2 year old son especially loves the wooden treehouse/platform, the water / sand earthworks feature, the wooden tipi, the spiral garden and the lovely garden. this is the perfect blend of nature/wildlife reserve and also lots of human built structures to enjoy without detracting from the feeling of nature. i’m so grateful our town has this place!

Perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. Lots of birds, squirrels, deer and other wild life. Well kept grounds. Sand play areas are engaging for Littles. Bathrooms are clean.

We didn't realize plastic wasn't allowed until we already had it out there but next time we won't bring them and will only use the natural stuff provided.
We had so much fun! The sand/water area was awesome! We can hardly wait to go back again.

I've been coming to Ashland for 20 years, but this was the first time I ever went to this park. It is a beautiful park with some great trails and a whole lot of green. They have some great signs detailing the native peoples and plants of the area. They have lots of play equipment and green spaces for kids to have fun.

A wonderful place to bring the kids and teach them about nature, horticulture, and native plants. It's great for adults too. There are a lot of beautiful things.

Amazing beautiful place. So glad I found this place. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the well maintained gardens, labeled plant life, creek and trail. They even have two ponds with a plethora of wildlife.

Not a wooded park, there are a few baseball, soccer, and tennis fields and a small paved bike trail.

Little something for everyone. Sports fields, nature center, woodland trails, bear creek, public restrooms, kids jungle-gym on the hill overlooking the park,Grizzly Peak and environs. Benches to sit on and take it all in.

Visited here in April, just as leaves were coming out on the trees. Lots of great habitat for birds! Nice paths too.

What a gem! Native wildlife and flora are the dominant feature of this park. There are plenty of learning and volunteer opportunities available through the nature center. The trails are easy to access and are very child friendly. Please do not bring your dog as there are no dogs allowed in the park. For good reason.

Update: Lomakatsi has been working hard at creek restoration making the park even more pleasant.

It's always a pleasure to take a walk through North Mtn Park. Don't take your pups or you'll have to leave them in the car! They aren't welcome as it protects the natural environment by keeping their scent and feces away. Even if you clean it up, certain animals, etc. may not stay in the area if they smell dogs. Certain species of plants are also affected.
The walking areas are very flat and there are many places of interest, especially for a moment of solitude or to watch birds. You can look for animal prints too. There is an interactive play area for children. You could spend hours there with your little ones!
The path outside the park can take you into a residential area where it is much steeper, if you'd like a bit more lift to your walk. There are picnic benches there.
For a safe, in-city-but-not walk, check it out!

One of the best grass fields in Ashland! Great for ultimate frisbee or soccer. Large and spacious!

A lovely nature oriented playground with a hand water pump that feeds into a sand play are where kids can enjoy making dams or playing with the wet sand. Actually they seemed to like working the pump the most! There is a climbing area here with rocks and logs to climb and balance on. Also there's some shade, but probably not enough for a hot sunny day.

A group I was with arranged our lunch at this lovely place. It has a covered picnic area that you can reserve plus nature trails that are almost all accessible (I use rolling walker). Plus the place is filled with native plants, many flowers as well as some naturally wild flowers. It has a gurgling stream and a small, still pond inside the Park. It also has a building and I don't know what's inside it as we were there on Saturday and the building wasn't open. A spot to stop briefly or for several hours

Amazing place to explore. Beautiful garden and surround areas to walk around. Giant outdoor sand pit for kids with toys. Cover patio with table. Staff very friendly. Lots of local resources provided. Parking area is small.
