The Ashland Oregon Police are the finest police force I've ever encountered. They are invariably courteous, helpful and professional. Ignore all the other negative reviews. They're almost all from lawbreakers like college students who like to loudly drink and party in quiet, residential neighborhoods and who get caught and fined.

I'm not a big fan of Ashland politics and such but I have to commend the Police Department in Ashland for their 'bait bike' plan. Buying a $1,500 bike so that if someone steals it -- it nets them a Felony -- is awesome! About time bike theft is taken seriously!

They were a big help reconnecting some lost dogs I found to their owners late at night. They even went out of thier way to call me to confirm the dogs made it home.

Was pulled over for speeding because someone was tailgating me so close I could barely see their headlights behind me. As I increased my speed so the person wasn’t so close anymore, they turned on their highbeems then was instantly pulled over. The officer accused me of drifting around a corner before he followed me and gave me a ticket for speeding but not driving recklessly.. AVOID ASHLAND AT ALL COST!!!

Among many issues of malpractice, one of the most notable is when I showed an officer a video of me getting assaulted, and his response was “it looks like that person doesn’t like being videoed” and “maybe you shouldn’t video record people”.

Really lazy cops that work at night. Call them saying someones breaking into a car, takes about 15 minutes for one to show up and the cop drove by with a spot light on the other side of the road going about 30 and just drove on. Didn't stop to check if anyone was in a car at all. Also saw a drunk/drugged up guy yelling at a cop saying "if you didn't have that badge I'd beat your @$$" and then said "step out of your car and see what happens" while spitting at the cop car and I don't know if the cop was scared of the guy but the cop just drove off. They don't want to arrest anyone because that would require a little more work from them. If I was a police officer I would take pride in my work. These people are so incompetent it's crazy. They should all be fired to open up spots to hire people who actually do there jobs. Not just ones that wanna sit in parking lots in the squad cars and talk to one another.

It's illegal to exist and probably illegal to fart. I got a camping ticket parked on a forest service road. I got a seatbelt ticket while parked. I got an open container ticket and I don't drink. I got arrested for a 5 year old citation three years past the statute of limitations. My Deschutes County deputy friend was called a vagrant and a boondocker by the APD for parking his truck and camper next to the park when he arrived into town for the first time to visit an old friend for a weekend camping trip. I call it liberal fascism. They like the counter culture but it's all a act, Shakespeare. Self righteous libtard hippie scum just want your money. Don't drink the Kool aid, I mean lithia water. At least the junior officers are cute and look like cub scouts. They have free junior officer stickers and babysit the homeless

Was told skateboarding in downtown is illegal while the officer and I got passed by someone on a board I asked if he was going to enforce the law and his exact words were "can't catch them all."
