The historic Jackson County Courthouse, now City of Jacksonville OR City Hall, is a beautiful old west building that stands out in the City. It is now the location for Jacksonville City Council and City offices. It is a widely used building (used to be a museum) and has two stories. Right now the City Council Chambers are on the second floor (which is transformable into a ball room or other uses). Check-it-out. Its a cool photograph location as well.

An amazing little historic town this place they call. No matter what season. And the people, they're special too.

Went to listen to live music from members of SOSA(Song writers of Southern Oregon Association). Perfect spot with shade, places to sit, and bathroom open. There was also a craft fair. Loved hearing original live music in a lovely setting. The crafts displayed were very good also.

Although the museum is not open on weekends my lovely teenage girls and i enjoyed a crisp snowball (frozenball) filled walk around the historical building. We stopped to read the posters, hypothesized about the broken and or missing prison bars of the cellars , and attempted to gather, throw and dodge the (seriously) frozen snow we found in the ground. The outing, even for winter was quick and enjoyable as we all three squealed in laughter and ran from each other as we hoisted large slabs of frozen snow at each other before falling into our car and laughing with pleasure as we left beautiful historic Jacksonville and headed to our home and steamy mugs of hot cocoa.

This is a gorgeous spot in a gorgeous town. Sunday morning markets are wonderful, and this is also where the Art Presence Art Center has a presence. Green grass, trees, historic architecture: what's not to love?
