Old School Coffee

Really great coffee and atmosphere. I went in near closing and asked the barista for the sweetest drink they had on their menu. They recommended to me “the student”. Really tasty. The workers were really kind and helpful, and whipped up my order really quick. I took my coffee to go hence why it looks separated. Will definitely need to come back to try their other drinks.

So blessed to call this my local coffee shop. The baristas are so laid-back and kind and their selection is always fantastic. Man, can they move a line quickly – I’ve been in a line out the door and they’ve gotten me through in under 10 minutes, which I’m incredibly grateful for on hectic mornings. It can get busy and seating inside the cafe can fill up at times, but they have lots of great seating throughout the building as well. Highly recommend!

Such a cool repurposed old school building to house this coffee shop along with several other businesses. One of my favorite Lexington coffee shops. Worth a stop by if you have never been there before.

First of all, old school cafe deserves the 4.9 google review.
Well decorated, cosy, organized place with high quality coffee. We went there during weekend, it was a little bit busy but we did not wait long for our coffee.
It is a nice place for students to do their stuff and there were a couple of people were working there creating a nice atmosphere.
My only recommendation is locating a place for the staff’s-related items that would help to the organization of place.

I love Old School! One of my go-tos. I love that they have weekly special coffees. The workers are also great, nice and timely :)

If you're in Lexington and scrolling for a good latte, stop because this is the best in town. I can say this because I've been here at least 70 times.

Old School has a large menu of specialty lattes. I like the art teacher (lavender + honey) in summer and the Cuban latte in winter. And yet, I rarely order these because I usually prefer whatever the drink of the week is. Old School is a rare coffee shop that routinely strikes a good balance between espresso and sweetness, so I trust them. They've basically been right 99% of the time.

For context, I like my coffee less sweet. If you prefer really sweet drinks, they have frozen options that are also good.

They have standard cafe fare, including croissants and baked goods from La Petite Delicat in town and Spalding's donuts on weekends. Nice for a quick breakfast or snack with your coffee.

As for the spot, it's very cool. I'm not 100% up to date on the history, but I believe it was an early Lexington schoolhouse and it has feminist ties to the American revolution. It is, if you will, an old school.

The cafe is a nice place to get work done but spots fill up quickly, especially when UK is in session, so prepare to sit in the atrium. There's plenty of free parking right next door and in the lot across the street.

Oh, and how could I forget? Everyone working here is great at what they do and so fun to chat with. Great for recommendations and always ready to accommodate.

Old school is a great little spot to get some work done or grab coffee with a friends. It’s always buzzing with students, professionals, I really love the atmosphere and their tea selection

We took a large group in without advance notice and they handled us like champs! The coffee was fabulous, the local donuts delectable and the atmosphere was quaint in the old school house. Really enjoyed this coffee house.

The coffee was amazing - got an iced mocha latte. The service was quick and the staff was so friendly.

There are lots of work spots with outlets and the WiFi is quick. There is a sign that they have a two hour limit so I respected that. I got some work done and the environment was very calm. Most people were working or grabbing coffee with a friend.

It’s inside a building which was confusing at first. Parking lot with free two hour limit parking spots.

We loved this place! My wife and I stopped by on a Sunday morning during our weekend trip to Lexington. It was busy but service was friendly and efficient. I got a nice dark roast coffee and my wife got a pumpkin spice chai that she really liked. The schoolhouse location was cool as well! Also a fun block to walk around after - great old houses and architecture. We’d already gotten donuts that morning but the ones they had looked delicious, and as someone with a food allergy, I appreciated that they had a sign listing the ingredients - hardly any places do that.

We absolutely loved coming here every morning for coffee while we were in town visiting. The owner was a complete doll. We also tried their Butterfly Refresher 10/10 recommend!

Took the wife here for coffee, and it took her back in time to her high school days. Great repurposed job on an old school house, coffee and food are very good, great prices and friendly service. Really nice to see the younger generation being creative and reusing an old building. It's her new favorite spot for coffee.

Coffee was great. Location and design was amazing. This will be a stop for me whenever I’m in the Lexington area for sure. Ended up here on an afternoon work trip for somewhere to land and was happily surprised. In an old renovated building with lots of character.

The vibes of Old school are amazing but the coffee is somehow even better! One of my favorite spots in Lex and a must go whenever we have visitors! Everyone is so friendly and they even have punch cards!

We found Old School on a Google coffee search and I am so glad we did! We happened to be in town for a conference at the Campbell House Hilton Hotel but wanted to duck out for coffee. This was a WONDERFUL reprieve!

You’ll find Old School inside an old schoolhouse along with a few other businesses. It’s right on the main floor. It’s very school room vibe! The coffee is phenomenal. They do have a 2 hour wifi usage limit, but that was Al we needed to catch up on our morning work before heading back for sessions.

It’s common to find it pretty busy, full of UK kids studying or folks grabbing a quick cup of coffee! If the main room is full you’ll find some tables just in the hall! This is one of my favorite places to stop when I’m town! Check them out!

This coffee shop is so pretty! The building is old and beautiful and the decor inside is so simple and nice. Love the old school specialties. Lots of good flavors to choose from. I got an iced school house #3 and it's really good! The guy working was really nice and friendly and kept everything meticulously clean between customers. I'll definitely be coming back!

Old School makes a mean latte! The quality of their coffee is just great. You can really tell the difference. Plus, they have all the milk alternatives.

It's a hip joint right by UK, complete with studying college students. Tables are spaced out enough to be safe. Speaking of safe they maintain a 100 inspection rating.

A must-stop coffee shop.
