Joe Bologna's Restaurant & Pizzeria

Dropped in on a weekday during the lunchtime rush. We were seated as fast as the host could humanly manage (we were 4th in line) and our waiter wasted no time in taking our drink and appetizer orders.

Our breadsticks came out hot and tasty, and our pizzas arrived just as I was stealing the last bit my daughter and wife had left of theirs.

I won't speak to the pizza my wife ate, but she loved it and it was quite beautiful in appearance too! My daughter finished her tiny pizza before I slowed long enough to snap a pic. My pizza, wow, those nice crisp pepperonis were a treat

When in Lexington, this is a place we will be stopping by again.

We got carryout, very busy on a Saturday night. Large portions and packaged well. Took a little longer than anticipated but food was hot and secured so nothing spilled.

We had a large group of 16 staying do one night on our way through town and were brought here by a local. It was a great place! The food was good, the restaurant is large and the atmosphere is unique since it is in an old church. You HAVE to get a breadstick when you go and yes you only need one! They are huge and mouth watering delicious! Joe himself was there to greet us which made it an even better experience! Local is best!

Recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. The garlic breadstick was amazing. We had veggie lasagna and deep dish pizza that was very good. Service was friendly and very welcoming.

We were visiting here for the weekend for a conference and was looking for a great place to dine. We wasn’t sure what to expect but we’re definitely glad we stopped by! The wings here are so good and Terri our waitress did a great job serving us.We ate here again the next day! Joe was very personable with us. He was very sweet and the atmosphere was nice as well. A church turned into a restaurant, how cool!

I am a huge fan of Joe B’s. They have all you can eat spaghetti on Sundays which is a great deal. Their bread is huge and is served in butter. I have never had anything bad there. The service is usually great also. They are in an old converted church so the inside is impressive.

The nicest owner Ever!!! First time visiting this restaurant and will definitely be back. Joe Bologna welcomed us into his restaurant and was just the most gracious host. He provided samples of a few of his favorite items on the menu ..bread sticks, meatballs, dill soup..delicious. we also had pizza which was delicious!

Joe Bologna's has been around for many years, in an old church with the stained glass. If you're in town looking for a great local place to get a pizza or some pasta give Joe B's a try. Tonight my son had the manicotti and my wife and I had the spaghetti and meatballs. We asked if they could bake it for us which they were more than happy to accommodate. Everything tasted delicious. They were low staffed but our waitress did an excellent job keeping up as well working the bar even though we were seated in the dining section. When you go please try the bread sticks. Thank me later.

We ate there late last year on the way back from a trip. The meatball sub, meat sauce, and breadsticks were all amazing! My girlfriend said it was the best meat sauce she has ever had.

Amazing place! First time here - they were SLAMMED, but we were seated within 15 minutes, our waitress was FANTASTIC, and the food... Big chef kisses all around!! (could have gone heavier on the horseradish in the sauce for the Zucchini, but...) Their marinara is to DIE for! ❤❤

Have heard about this place and have been wanting to try it. Went on a Friday night and didn't have to wait long. The server was very friendly and prompt. Food was excellent and quick for as busy as they were. Highly recommend. Parking is limited, but there is pay parking just a short walk away.

Great pizza crust. Awesome homemade bread sticks. Nice light breading on the fried appetizers. The cannoli was also delicious. Cream of potato soup was the kind of food where after 3 bites you start to enjoy it

A little expensive but you will go home with leftovers. Chicken Primavera left something to be desired but the atmosphere and staff are pretty friendly. Expect to be there at least an hour once you sit down

Grab yourself an Ale 8, and big breadstick, and whatever else you’d like and have a great meal at Joe B’s!

This was my first time here. His is in an old church. The waitress was attentive and took great care of us. And the food, OMG! Amazing!!! Breadsticks, potato soup, and lasagne was amazing!!!

Wow... my wife went to college in Lexington and this was a favorite haunt of hers. I've been hearing about their breadsticks for 4 years now. This is an Uber cool spot with great vibes.. Located in an old Jewish Synagogue is a minor detail compared to the breadsticks, pasta, and pizza. Our waitress, Nikki was fun, knew her beers and was GREAT! We regretted not getting any desert but I promise to return and try out the pineapple upside down cake.

Wow! Beautiful restaurant in an old synagogue! Food was amazing. Even though they were very busy, staff was attentive and fast. Bonus: Met Joe the owner and got to hear about his history in the business. I only wish I had gotten an, "I know Joe" Tshirt!

Visited Joe Bologna's this evening, and I must say, the breadsticks were truly out of this world. They were the perfect start to our meal. The selection of pizza options is extensive, and it's likely to satisfy everyone's preferences. The pizza dough was decadent. The sauce was a bit sweeter than I personally prefer, but it was still good.

The restaurant's atmosphere was cool and unique, as they've done an excellent job converting the church to a restaurant, while retaining some of its original charm. The service was top-notch, and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I highly recommend Joe Bologna's for those looking for a unique and delicious pizza experience in Lexington.

Always great food and good service. Best spaghetti I have ever eaten. The soups are homemade. And, that breadstick drowning in garlic butter? To die for! A Lexington institution for over 50 years and rightfully so.

If you've never been try to pick an atypical hour to go as parking has always been very limited. Not the biggest parking lot in the world and street parking is minimal.

Fun 50 year old Italian restaurant in the original building. Good service, good food.
