One of our favorite places to just go for a walk. Very glad there are no pets on the trails. The place has undergone a LOT of improvements over the last few years and we've really enjoyed watching the growth. Last visit was with wife and sister-in-law.

It's a nice little, isolated park near downtown Lexington. It's small enough that you can easily, leisurely walk the whole thing in a couple of hours while enjoying the sights. But simultaneously large enough to make you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

The trail along the springs is pretty, the plaques are informative and interesting, and The Boils is one of the most fascinating springs I've ever seen. There's a pond teeming with small wildlife. Dragonflies, bluegill, and turtles which you can observe from a deck that curves around it. And huge bur oak, over 250 years old.

The visitor center appears well maintained, includes restrooms, a small museum, and helpful, friendly park employees (rangers?).

The trails are easy to traverse. A l portion of it is paved with only mild inclines so much of it's 2 miles of trails would be wheelchair accessible. It's also a great little hike for kids, however dogs are not allowed so as to not spook the wildlife.

I highly recommend a visit if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing walk in nature.

A really beautiful area tucked into an area I'd consider anything else besides that. The paths are well taken care of and the fact we saw deer and other small animals roaming around is a testament to their protection here.

Would love to see more small parks like this where we interweave with nature and keep the history alive

Lovely little space in an otherwise industrial area of Lexington. Well-kept grounds by Lex Parks department. I've used the picnic area as an alternative work from home location using my phone's hotspot.

A quiet bit of nature in the city!
Very nice trail! The artesian spring is really cool! I enjoyed the plants and trees labeling.
The parking lot is surrounded by honey locust so the air smells sweet!
They have a bathroom and water fountain in the educational building during open hours.

The spring, "Blue Hole", is a gorgeous color. There are 3 parts to the spring, with descriptive signs. Nice little walking trail. There is a neat little railroad track area covered with graffiti across from the Final Spring. There is also a wetland area with bridge. Great place to bring the kids.

This place is gorgeous! Very picturesque! One can definitely spend a couple of hours here easily. They have great informational plaques with photos throughout, and they are very readable. They also have plenty of nice benches to sit and rest to take in the beautiful scenery!

Nice workers and the nature center inside is nice, but not real big or fancy. Short paved trail but it's still really nice (they have non paved trails too, that we did not take), there's a long bridge overlooking the big pond they have and it's really nice, you can see turtles and fish out there. 😊

I would suggest going after a rainfall. It hadn't rained in a while so the water.level was down and less active per say. Nice trail. About a 30 minute walk. Would do wonders if the hauled off some of the trees that had fallen or set them more back in the fields or trees and not a long the paths. I'd say it would be a nice park if you had a couple hours to kill.

I brought my four year old to this park recently. He loved being “in the forest.” There’s a nice pond with a bridge around it and easy, well-maintained hiking trails that are perfect for a small child. He loved seeing the fish, ducks and turtles around the pond. There are also many benches where my son took frequent breaks.

We had a lovely walk. A volunteer naturalist who was a retired Botany professor talked to us about the park's features. We took lots of pictures. There were benches pretty frequently along the trail. It had rained the previous day so water was running nicely. There are restrooms at the visitors center.

Very beautiful and peaceful natural spring in Lexington, Kentucky. If you're looking for something to check out that can be as quick as 15 minutes (to maybe stretch your legs) or as long as you want, this is a place you can do that. The preserve is really well maintained.

Cute little park. The main trail was nice and accessible, a few of the other paths may be somewhat accessible depending on your abilities and mobility aides.
The education center was very informative and has a nice spot to sit and birdwatch.
Keith was there when we went and was super helpful and friendly. He went well above and beyond for us and was very knowledgeable about the park.

Beautiful park with natural springs. When I went to this park, it was decorated with a Halloween theme. I really enjoyed my time in the park .

A hidden gem that is historically and environmentally significant to Lexington. It features the course of a natural springs system, native flora and walking trails throughout the park.

Relax around the pond and enjoy the sight of turtles and sometime deer. Inside the visitor center offers hands-on stations to touch and learn about the native animals.

McConnell Springs is a place for all ages to enjoy.
