Great restaurant. Well run, food was delicious, service was great, overall wonderful experience. The restaurant really has a nice air to it.

One of their best features is the extensive beer options, with great descriptions on their menu. My husband ordered the Mushroom French Dip Burger with french fries. The burger was very juicy and cooked to order. I had the Krakow, which was made with smoked polish sausage, beer-braised onions, and gouda cheese. Very nice meal in a chill atmosphere.

Definitely will go back to try other specialties on menu.

This spot was recommended to me by Alex, another great server here. I ordered the NY strip and a brownie rockslide. The server, Jess, was very friendly and accommodating! She split the entree for two people since it was a huge portion for one. Highly recommend this place! 🔥

The smokehouse burger was fantastic, and the fries were good as well. The waiter was very helpful in giving us tasters to see what we wanted to drink. He was good about seeing our needs without checking in overly much. The drink selection is great outside of beer, which I often have trouble finding at a tap house, as someone who doesn’t like beer. Overall great experience for mom’s night out!

Enjoyed lunch! Shared the Calamari appetizer. It arrived very quickly, fresh & hot, we loved the 2 sauce drizzle & it tastes like pimento puree, plus creamy mayo squiggles! Looks great, tastes even better! My Guiness beer was amazing as it was a really hot August afternoon plus had a nice heavy glass of ice water with my meal to keep hydrated. Happy Hour starts at 3. We were there before and basically had the restaurant to ourselves. The medium rare Sirloin, buttery Mashed 🥔 Potatoes, with fresh Asparagus upgrade $1 extra 😋👌

Went for lunch and the food was amazing. Filled with flavor and tasted very fresh and filled with quality ingredients. Their beer list is also massive so you can’t go wrong and their cocktails are on point. I definitely will be back and recommend this place to everyone.

Nice little bar in downtown Richmond. Had a couple pints of beer and a couple of apps. There is also a downstairs area that has different drafts on tap than upstairs so make sure you check it out. I would visit again when I come to Richmond.

Love this place!! Great Food... Very Comfortable atmosphere!! Wait staff just perfect... Attentive enough but not Hovering over you!! I love their Black & Bleu Salad with Flank Steak!!!! My husband has not had a beer there that he did not thoroughly ENJOY!!!

My wife and I had a early dinner Christmas eve, our server Bobby was outstanding as was our meal. We truly appreciate how Bobby timed our meal, it's a huge peeve for us to be rushed when dining out. Appetizers are meant to be enjoyed before your meal lol and Bobby made sure that happened. Our dinner was hot and delicious and brought out after we finished our pretzel (btw the pretzel itself is worth the drive, we live in Cumberland) a note to management don't let Bobby get away from you he's what all your service staff should aspire to be. Thanks again Bobby for the excellent dinner and awesome service.

It was our first time eating at Capital Ale House. Julie our waitress was phenomenal. She wasn’t pushy or short. I asked for recommendation between two platters and she helped me decided. She made sure our drinks stayed topped off. Please visit and ask to be seated in Julie’s section. I had the fried chicken sandwich, side salad. We had the mussels with Gouda and bacon. Mascato wine.

Enjoyed a late lunch with a friend. The pumpkin cider was delicious. I had the smoked trout dio topped with pickled onion and capers served with a warm crusty baguette and my friend ordered jaegersnitzel. Warm German mashed potatoes and saurkraut. Huge portion so a box to go was necessary. Unfortunately they wer sold out of the walnut ra I sin strudel and the chocolate cake! A very delicious lunch.

Yum! The German alehouse food was delicious. I loved the layers of flavor and attention paid to each component of the dishes we had.
My Zurich Ragout was a bit greasy, but very flavorful. The braised pork and mushroom gravy is delicious with bits of the carrots and onions it was cooked with. The spinach compliments the flavors and brings in a bit of fresh texture and flavor.

Man this place is very under-rated. Food is always very well prepared. Service is good. Always a good spot to celebrate. The pretzels and sausages are always great. We really enjoy living near Capital Alehouse.

I thought the food was really good. The service was excellent. They weren't super busy for a Saturday night but I'll definitely return.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience at Capital Ale House. This was our first time at this location but have been to other locations several times. We love that they have a large beer selection and especially love that they serve lambics. The food is also good. The best part about Capital Ale House though is the consistent good service.

Vinny is amazing, I come every Sunday, mostly to see him because he has the best recommendations. Plus the food is amazing. They have the chicken pot pie rolls back, must try!

I loved everything about this place! The hostesses were so friendly and helpful. The service from our waiter Sage was impeccable. He made the dining experience so pleasurable. The food was absolutely out of this world! We had the Giant Bavarian Pretzel to start. It was huge and so delicious. The French Dip was amazing!

We are here almost every Friday! It has a great “Cheers” vibe! We love the staff here and have never had a bad meal!

Vinny is a phenomenal bartender and full of positive energy. Late night specials are great and the bar is spacious. Great place to relax and socialize after work!

Hubby and I went to the Capitol Ale House for Christmas Eve. We didn't have reservations so we had to sit in the bar area, which was just fine. We enjoyed the food, service, and beer selection.
