Spunky shop in a gritty part of town. No inside seating and it was way too cold to sit on the patio this morning, so unfortunately I was in and out quick and didn’t talk to the baristas cuz they looked busy. But I really liked the urban hipster look and feel (and fun branding) especially given the rough neighborhood location. And they roast their own beans so the coffee was bold.

Great coffee & service💖 would most definitely recommend! Nice little neighborhood spot, definitely give them a try if you’re in the area. I’ve also seen their cold brew in stores in the south loop! I’ve heard the pastries are also really good!!

Coffee is delicious!! Definitely has that wake you up in the morning kick. I get my bag of coffee from them all the time. Love the location I don't have to drive far for great coffee it's all in the neighborhood. Staff is always friendly & helpful.

Definitely very helpful as I was in a jam & they were able to assist me and I walked out with my bag of coffee & my refilled cup full of coffee.

They have pretty cool inexpensive merchandise from cups to baby gear & adult shirts.

No I'm not employed by Sputnik just a regular customer that loves good service from the time I enter till I leave.

Beautiful corner coffee roaster located about 18 min east of Chicago midway. Came here right off the plane in need of good coffee and a place to reply to emails. Super friendly and affordable. I got an oat milk latte and some whole beans and an apple danish. Can't wait to try the beans at home!

Great little shop! Friendly staff, delicious coffee, and pastries. Super reasonable prices at only $1 for a small coffee. They make the most perfect looking donuts I’ve ever seen too. It’s a drive from the suburbs but it’s a must-stop every time we’re in the area.

The coffee beans are the freshest you can get. Roasted in shop and dated. Definitely my go-to, perfect medium roast. They’ll grind them on the spot if you’d like. Thankfully they’re available at our local grocery store and for only $7.

We tell all our friends about this place and their coffee, and encourage them to support small business. We sincerely hope they prosper and a company and can continue making our favorite cup of Joe.

Sputnik Coffee is a Chicago institution. We’ve been enjoying their roasted coffee for the better part of 2021 through 2022. We’ve ordered coffee from them many times and have always been over delighted at its freshness and flavor. We stopped in today for the very first time and met the owners and they were nothing short of spectacular. The service was top notch. Our son had an espresso and I had a latte with whole milk and house made vanilla. It was in fact the best latte I’ve ever had. It will definitely not be our last visit to the store. Thank you so much for your high-quality product and for your incredible service and friendly camaraderie.

The coffee is fantastic. I highly recommend it. It’s more of a takeout coffee place. They do have a table by the window inside. But no seats and they usually cover the table with coffee bean bags.

Ummm…this was the best latte I’ve had in a long time in Chicago. I stopped by Saturday morning because Back of the Yards was closed and Sputnik is down the street (plus I’ve had their beans before). I got a large latte with vanilla syrup and oat milk. The first sip blew my mind with how clean it tasted (no bitterness at all). And I’m no coffee/espresso novice!! They have pastries (croissants, etc) for sale too which looked good. Very prompt service despite a small queue of people and I liked the front entrance with the knick knacks for sale. Only thing I’d wish for is seating inside. I’m hoping they have some outdoor seats when the weather is nice. Will return.

I was passing by and couldn’t resist the way how the air smells like fresh coffee bean. Coffee was not strong but delicious.

We discovered Sputnik coffee at HASH restaurant several months ago. The coffee tasted so good that my husband asked the staff for the name of it. He wanted to be able to try and have it at home. They told us about Sputnik, about the local folks who own and are the roasters; and we knew we had to check them out. It’s become somewhat of an obsession. :) We are thrilled they have a local shop so we buy our coffee from them regularly. We also love their loose leaf tea, especially the turmeric ginger and chamomile lemon. You can buy it whole bean or have it ground. They have espresso beans, as well. We really try to support local, small business and Sputnik makes it so easy! We believe it’s the best coffee in Chicago, hands down! And lastly, a shout out for the tasty bakery treats that we enjoy, too.

Sputnik has been on a list to-try. Enjoyed their house blend in shop and excited to brew at home. Happy to have a personal chat with the owner about origin and roast. Life happens. Coffee helps.

First visited there about a year and a half ago. One of the best Chicago coffee roasters around - hands down. I had the privilege of talking to the owner for a good while as I ate one of their awesome pastries. Super cool people who love coffee, are passionate about coffee and making it affordable, and passionate about having such a great spot for the local community to gather. I love that.

I used to live in the Back of the Yards area before my family moved to the suburbs about 20 years ago. It was great to go back to the neighborhood and visit. Very nostalgic.

I now have many, many friends hooked on Sputnik and THEY tell their friends and family about it now and they love it, too.

Simple and yet very good coffee shop that gets the job done. A limited coffee menu but is simple and straight to the point! Coffee at $1 is really cheap especially how prices are these days. Apparel is also available for purchase. This was a well worth trip.

Discovered this place a couple months ago as I showed up too early for my pre-travel COVID test at a nearby Walgreens. Serendipitous! Staff is super friendly. The $1 drip coffee hit the spot in the morning (bold without being bitter) and I was able to solve my coffee "problem" for my workation. Their 8 oz bags are perfect for travel (I've decided to make this place my go-to) and they'll grind the beans to your liking (I drink pour overs, black). 1 bag lasted 2 weeks, although I was able to stretch it to 3. This time, I made sure I got 2 bags for my trip.

Sputnik had been on my list for a while to try out for coffee beans, and I'm so glad I did! The gentleman (sorry I didn't get your name) was very kind and helpful! He asked if it was my first time at Sputnik, which it was, and was very helpful, informative, kind and welcoming. Everything is done in house, including roasting the beans. And let me tell you, it's some of the best coffee I've ever had. AMAZING! I bought a five pound bag of coffee beans and even shared some with my friends and family and every single one I've shared with has told me they loved the coffee!

Cozy little coffee shop. Affordable coffee and delicious pastries. Parking is off street. If you are driving here parking can be a bit tricky but possible.

They're a great cup of coffee. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. It's great to have a little place like this here.

Sputnik has very cool owners who educated me on the roasting process of coffee more than any place I've ever been. They have a passion for coffee and are all about getting it right! Plenty of places have coffee, but not enough of them treat it with the same care as Sputnik. They really love coffee!

I'm wishing these guy's the best as they deck out their shop! I can't wait to grab a coffee and spend some time in the park as we bring in the spring and summer!
