This a great place for pastries and coffee. About an hour and half drive from central valley. Must a great road trip. Try cinnamon rolls, and the lemon nest.

This is one of the gems of Amador county and city. Fantastic assortment of pastries. Selection of bread changes daily. The cranberry walnut bread is superb. Great tasty sandwiches also. Very nice people. Highly recommended. Open Thursday through Sunday.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food could not possibly be any better. World class bakery. No exaggeration whatsoever. Editing this review just to reiterate how fantastic this place is. We are so blessed to have an establishment of this caliber in our small Amador County community. This place is the pride and joy of our little area. If you live within a two hour radius of this place, it would be worth the trip by itself not to mention the award winning Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc wines in the wineries of this area.

I will drive to this quaint little bakery to get the blue cheese walnut bread. They have wonderful sandwiches and desserts. They get pretty busy on the weekends. Before you head out wine tasting do yourself a favor and have a quick bite here. Or bring a cooler and pick up cheese and meat and enjoy at a nice winery with a bottle of wine

I dump at least $40 a week here on sweet delicious awesomeness. Staff is always professional, polite, and efficient. They're bringing in more savory options, which I'm pretty happy about. They've even sold me few cups of almond flour when I was in a rush to find some. So neighborly! I do wish they had a gluten free or paleo option here and there to feed my face but not my guilty conscience, but that may just be sacrilege to ask a 5 star European-style bakery!!
Try the Lemon Nests and oatmeal cookies. They're my current weakness.

Everything is so good I don't even know where to start. The olive loaf, the blue cheese walnut loaf, nibby cookies (my life will never be the same), the quiches, the tomato and brie sandwich, and Oh My God the lemon nest. Try it all...just try it all. But wait, there's more! There's a lovely little patio out back that straddles a small creek where you can sit and eat. Treat yourself to a late spring or early summer trip and enjoy the wildflowers, birds, and the water while you have the best baked goods you've ever tasted.

Excellent baked goods. The problem was choosing from so many, so we tried these: Sweet: peach-raspberry scone, pecan sticky bun, lemon tart and nibbly cookies (chocolate chip, hazelnut, oats). All excellent, couldn't pick a favorite. Savory: quiche, Savory pie, beet salad. Good selection of iced and hot tea. Other things we didn't try: Tomato salad, olives, Salami and cheese. Great selection of Pies, cakes, tarts and other sweets. And of course coffee.

Everything here is delicious. Some of my favorite things are the savory pie, w potatoes and a bit of bacon in a buttery pie crust, also the blue cheese walnut loaf, the cranberry walnut loaf, the Basque cake, and all of the cookies. Plus, they have a good selector cheese and some charcuterie and other picnic supplies.

This is a great little bakery with lots to offer, like: Sweets, savory treats, breads, cheese, wine, cured meats, coffee, sandwiches, and many other great things. They have an amazing blue cheese and walnut sourdough loaf which is so amazing I have to freeze half of it just to keep myself from eating it all in one day. Also, the traditional sourdough bread is low enough in gluten that my gluten sensitive wife doesn't get sick from eating it; in fact, it is one of the few breads she can eat that isn't specifically labeled "gf".

I love this bakery. I sometimes selfishly wish it was less popular however. It is important to arrive early for the best selection. Andrae's proudly brews Temple Coffee out of Sacramento and it is delicious. There is nothing short of amazing in this bakery. I would recommend the dirty pumpkin chai latte for a fantastic Fall treat.

This is a true mom and pap bakery that has a country, old time feel. The people and owners are so nice, and you baked good are to die for. The best coconut macaroons and french breads I have ever had.

Traditional fresh bread and pasteries, nothing like it on a 50 mile radius. Friendly staff collect your order and bag it for you. There is no indoor seating or table service but the food is worth the trip. I would forgo any Expresso coffee, in my opinion it's horrible.

I love Andrae's! They have the best baked goods you'll find anywhere. Well worth the stop or even the drive out from Sacramento as they are better than any other bakery in town. I wish they were open during the week!

Best baked goods I've ever had. Recently moved to the area and so happy to find this place. Everything is good, the bread, the pre-made sandwiches, the pastries and cakes. Can't go wrong with anything.

FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO VISIT THIS PLACE. IT IS CLOSED. They haven’t update their online presence. After driving for 1 hour from Elk Grove because it said it was open. We found a note of the door that said they are taking a sabbatical.

Yummy a great little bakery/coffee shop with other items to pick from. Take a break here before or after you spend a day discovering some of California's history during the time of the old west.

Such a Gem! Wonderful bakery and very friendly staff. We drive up from Sacramento as often as we can to get our fix of pastries, breads and local cheeses.

This is one of the best bakeries I have ever been to. My family and a got a bit of everything to share since there are so many of us, and they wasn't a thing I tried that I didn't love.
