An amazing piece of history! The tour is long (close to 2 hours) but so, so interesting. Lots of entertainment and fun hands on challenges for kids. Highly recommended a visit and tour if you live nearby or if you are interested in the history of American gold rush.

LOVED this place! Wanted to go here after seeing an episode on GhostHunters.

The tour was EXCELLENT! We had so much fun! Andrea did an AMAZING job with giving the tour! So informative!

The highlight was the mine mascot, Penny the dog!

There is a very cool museum with little mine shafts and samples of the rocks around labeled. There are many different samples of old equipment along with lots of cool antiques from water monitors to all kinds of old machinery. There is a cool little house built into the side of the hill. The gift shop in the museum is nice and all the staff here are very friendly and I believe are all volunteers. I recommend this place to anyone that enjoys some good Ole history.

We arrived at 10am on a Sunday when they opened & we had Doug a retired mine engineer as a guide and we learned so much! He made the 90 minute tour so interesting! Highly recommend. The $15 goes entirely to the upkeep of the Non profit.

If your a history or engineering buff this is well worth a stop. We were off season so couldn’t have a tour but we were able to wander round and look and learn. The volunteers were friendly and informative and we were grateful for how welcoming they were even though it was closed.

We visited Kennedy Gold Mine for a 5th grade field trip, and everyone had a blast!! Our tour guides were entertaining, knowledgeable, patient, and just all around awesome. We learned so much and had a great time doing it. Thank you, Kennedy Gold Mine!

Went with high school class and we had a good time. The tour is just long enough that two or three lost interest from saturation. Would tour with high schoolers again.

I'd been wanting to go since we see the head frame every time we drive down the 49. This is a non-profit place staffed entirely by volunteers. At first I thought $12 was steep for a tour (general admission and poking around is free; self-guided tour brochure was $5 in the bookshop; adults were $12 and under 6 free). BUT we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who became our guide because he was more into "the technical stuff" (so are we!) and since it was not busy we basically had a private tour! On the tour you can go onto the head frame platform and into the main office (not accessible without tour). Pretty cool history and lots of information. Best part was the hands-on demonstrations that our guide gave us and the interaction our 5 year old had - pushing the ore cart, hammering a hand drill, handling pieces of the gold refining process, getting "locked" in "jail"! We will come back to hike and explore the area because we didn't have time to walk the trail. Really cool place with great people volunteering!

Great tour of a former working gold mine. So much history packed in to this experience, including a bit of "panning for gold." Not sure of the tix price, it was included on our 7 day trip of northern CA.

Really enjoyed the tour here. Our guide Doug was very knowledgeable and made the tour super interesting. It's great value too...lasts 90 mins at least.
All the staff were super friendly.

This historic site provides an excellent peek into the history of gold mining in the motherlode area. It was well worth the time investment.

Amazing piece of gold Rush history. I've gone twice, and enjoyed both learning and exploring the mine and its surroundings. It's worth a visit. The Kennedy Mine is open from mid March-October.

Very beautiful piece of Northern California history that I can't wait to revisit. Went for a paranormal investigation (caught EVPs in the rec room) but the program that's run out of there is absolutely amazing. If you book for a private investigation at night they will take care of you. If you visit during the day and have kids they will have a blast, gift shop is full of cool stuff and is priced very cool. Not far from Ione and Sutter's Creek.

Very well preserved historic place. Completely free to visit. You would have to pay for a tour only, if you want to know more about the history. A lot of information posted near artifacts, so even if you miss your can get some idea about the place. Hope it will remain this well preserved.

Was so bummed it is not open on weekdays. Was so forward to going here and taking the tour, perhaps another time. The brochure looks real nice.

We finally did the paranormal tour as a birthday surprise for a family friend in town, something we all had wanted to do for many years. We had a really good time. Our guide Kevin caught some knocking on EVP and I definitely caught orbs on camera. Though we didn't catch anything in the rec room, our whole group of 5 felt something in there with us. I will 100% be doing another investigation next year! Total worth the cost!!

The Houserockers band lived up the name! Music was fabulous. Great venue. I liked that it wasn't a huge amphitheater setting. My only recommendations would be to do away with the tickets for food (drinks is understandable). You can end up paying more money for tickets that you use.
