I want all drivers to know but especially CDL truck drivers to know that Miss Underwood know exactly what she’s doing. This 15 miles over speeding ticket would have sky rocketed my insurance premium and damaged my CDL license. It cost me $600.00 to have her handle it for me. Without Miss Underwood it would have cost me close to the same money in fines and court costs plus damage to my CDL safety rating but with paying the $600.00 to her firm she got the ticket dismissed and nothing on my CDL record. Talk about a worst to best case scenario… Got a speeding ticket between Mammoth & Los Angeles end of May. At that time, learned that my driver’s license had expired ~6 mos prior. Continued to check online to pay the ticket weekly & even called Ridgecrest (Kern) Superior Court on multiple occasions, only to hear that the ticket wasn’t in the system yet.

Fast forward to this month (October), still no record, but finally speak to someone who thought to check the misdemeanor records vs the traffic violations & boom, there it was. And now, because I didn’t appear in court, there was a warrant out for me.

At first, I was a bit skeptical. We even decided to go for a plea just so my son could get out of jail, knowing that he was innocent. Mr. Underwood did not want us to do that. My experience with Mr. Underwood and his team was incredible. I was in deep water looking at a strike, 3 violent felonies, and 3 misdemeanors of which 2 were considered violent. The nature of my case is rather simple, a verbal altercation occurred between myself and a man under the influence and next thing I know I get sucker punched. Well, it didn't end well for the assailant and that in turn made me the criminal. After being arrested and seeing my charges I lawyered up immediately. I am not a Bakersfield native, I live in a very small town so I had to find someone that would help me. Enter John Underwood. The very first time I called him I was able to speak with him directly, for about 35 minutes. Understand I was very unnerved, but after that phone call I felt like I could breath again. John and his firm have done nothing less than stellar for my DUI.
This case started 5 years from the time of writing and John wasn't even my original lawyer but due to the unfortunate circumstances with my prior lawyer I reached out to Underwood law firm and explained my very special case.

John wanted to originally take my case for free because of the extenuating circumstances but I told him I couldn't allow that. He instead came up with a payment plan so that way i could still pay him for his time. I'm more than happy with the results John got for me. I had an unintentional altercation and misunderstanding with a police officer which led to a very serious charge during a pull over. The policeman also charged me with reckless driving. Both of these charges are misdemeanors and criminal. It would have been on my record forever and ruin my good reputation and severely impact my driving record.
