We had our roof replaced by Always Roofing a couple of years ago. Recently while pulling the Christmas boxes out of the attic I discovered a water intrusion around one of the air vents. After reading some of the negative comments left by other customers in regards to Always Roofing's lack of responsiveness to these types of issues, I must say I was expecting no response, or at best no response until after the holidays. Within one hour of my leaving a voicemail Jacob, the son of the owner Rich, called me back, said he was in the area and could he come take a look. I said sure come on over and within minutes Jacob determined the source of the lea. He then crawled up on our roof and cleaned out our stopped up gutter. He did this with his bare hands and I know it's a nasty job because I've done it myself. Jacob explained the water was spilling out over that section of gutter and running into and over the vent flange and the problem should be solved. He said if it's not give him a call. And that is excellent customer service right there! No hesitation in referring this local family owned company.

Allways Roofing did a great job. The crew worked hard and finished in 3 days. They cleaned the yard at the end of each day. The craftsmanship was very good. It was obvious that the entire crew is very skilled in their work.
Communication with Rich was very good before and after. He had visited my home one year ago and left a folder with an agreement and all the facts of the materials they use and the warranty that comes with it. I called him up a year later and he was still good on the original price quote.
The neighborhood is very good and many homes have gone from wood shake to a Presidential Shake ® Shingles - CertainTeed brand. My neighborhood HOA requires this type of shingle. It is more expensive but looks great and has a good warranty.
My wife was worried about the new perennials that she had planted. Not one plant was damaged. I would recommend them to anyone. Great work at a very fair price.

Good and bad. The speed at which they do your roof is both a blessing a curse. The good part is that they get it done and are out of there in less than a week - weather permitting. The bad part is lack of communication and sloppiness during the process.

The price was right - well below the other bids for a full roof replacement. But, I felt like I gave up some customer service and care because of it.

Roof tear-off was in like a day. But, stuff was being literally flung everywhere and it stressed me. I had masses of shakes crushing shrubs and the mess pretty much stayed there the whole process. Now, in the end, they cleaned it up very well, but it bothered me to have the mess there the whole week. I wondered if some of my plants would recover.

The next day, nobody checked in with us. Another crew just showed up. We weren't sure WHO was in charge and in tearing off the roof the day before, they tore off a piece of siding on the second story and it rained overnight and we had wet floor in the downstairs office. Who do we talk to? I would have thought an on-site job foreman would have touched base with us every morning to check for issues. We cleaned up the mess, but when we called about it, nobody said, "Let me come see if we need to do inside repairs". They just cut a small piece of new siding and fixed outside. To this day, I no idea if the wall in my office is filled with mold. They didn't act like they felt responsible for the damage at all.

Through the whole process, nobody called to see if we were okay with what was happening. I thought that was a huge downside to the process.

In the end, we are happy with the roof. But, I felt like communication and customer service were left wanting.....

Update 2/3/2017
After a lot of frustration Rich (Allways roofing company owner) did take care of us. He covered the cost of the mold remediation and Dave, his full time laborer came out and took care of the cause of the moisture in our attic space. It was rough and a long process but we are thankful to have everything taken care of. I added 1 star for them having taking care in the end. While it was miserable to have to live through it we appreciate that they did right by us in the end.

Update Jan 22-2017
Baffles still have yet to be fixed and my husband went up into it attic space today and we now have mold growing and water drips all over the inside of the roof. There are literally drops of water on the boards lining the inside of our attic which had made the wood soft to the touch.

11/7/2016
We purchased a home and Allways roofing installed a new roof the month before we closed. Our move in date was September 25th. During the first heavy rain in early October, noticed discoloration on the ceiling in our master bedroom. My husband poked it and his finger went right through the soggy drywall. He climbed up into the attic space to see if he was able to locate where the leak was from, and noticed a second issue. Almost every soffit vent baffle was not in place between the rafters as they were during the home inspection. A few were stapled up sideways, and even more were completely missing. On top of that, the insulation completely covered the lower vent holes. Maybe Allways roofing wants your roof and attic to have incorrect ventilation so it develops mold and rots. Then they can replace it for you in a few years instead of decades. My husband was unable to find the leak in the attic and decided to cut away about a square foot of damaged drywall to determine where the leak was. Upon removal, there was a clear path of water running down an air pressure vent pipe with an improperly sealed roof hood. I called the # on the receipt we were given and Rich called me back first thing the next morning to send someone out to fix the leak.

The guy that came fixed the leak and we haven't noticed any water since. Rich called once to recommend we wait a week to ensure the leak was stopped before he sends out a contractor to repair it. He also said he would contact us to have someone inspect the baffles. HOWEVER. It is now over 3 weeks since Rich initially told us he would send someone to inspect the baffles, and to send a contractor to patch the damaged drywall caused by their shoddy workmanship. Rich is also non-responsive to our numerous phone calls. One call back he told us he was heading out of town and still did not make any effort to provide a date for when they would fix their mistakes. The last time I asked him to please call my husband, as when he talks to me nothing ever actually gets done, he said he would call him right away and then didn't... Every message I've left, aside from the first call I made when it initially started leaking, I've left my husbands contact info in and asked him to call my husband. My husband has also called at least 4 times and he refuses to call him back.. It seems like he's ignoring us hoping that we will eventually give up holding them accountable for a poor job.

Based on their lack of communication, lack of integrity, and unwillingness to resolve issues they caused, I would not recommend Allways roofing to anyone I know, nor would I recommend them to anyone. I will update my review if Rich does ever actually fix our ceiling and take care of the baffles which if left down will cause poor attic circulation, moisture, mold, and eventually rot.

It appears that I have a similar situation as Melissa.

I have recommended Allways Roofing to several neighbors since my installation in 2013. Unfortunately I had a roof leak in November 2018, which was repaired.

Allways believed it was actually a skylight leak. Jake outlined the damage in our master bath with a marker pen in November 2018. We had the skylights replaced in March 2019, after the winter rains and snow, with no additional damage occurring.

Allways is still trying to claim it was the skylight that was leaking. It has now been 6 months without any additional leaks.

I am very disappointed by their lack of action and communication. I hope I can upgrade my recommendation after the damage is repaired.

I will update the post if events change.

I am about 12 years into a 30 year roof and I have a roof leak. These guys were recommended to me by a trusted friend who is a contractor. I called them and asked them to come out and take a look at what needed to be done to repair my roof. I gave them specifics of the problem over the phone. I needed an accurate repair estimate before approaching my insurance company. I made this clear.

They showed up with an estimate based on a Google Earth Satellite image of my house. I was kind of surprised by this because I had made it clear that this was a repair job and I wondered if they'd listened to anything I'd said at all. He refused to climb up in my attic and take a look at the problem. He asked me to send him the photos my friend the contractor had taken when he climbed up in my attic and looked at it. He never responded to my emails and I called him multiple times a day for several days and he never picked up or returned my calls. I got the sense when he came over and handed me his estimate that he didn't want to do the job. I have no idea why, since they bill themselves as a roof repair company. It was all very unprofessional and wasted my time. Just know that if they act like this to avoid a job, they have the potential to act this way after they've already begun work on your house and taken money from you.

Response to owners response to the review above on Yelp

This business responded to my Yelp review and accused me of asking them to be dishonest and that's why he was unresponsive. The truth is that as the review states, he did not listen to what I told him when I contacted him and he did not want to take the effort to actually go into my attic and assess the problem. He showed up with a boilerplate offer and a Google Earth screenshot of my roof. I was actually very surprised that he did this and demonstrated a complete lack of comprehension of our original conversation. When he left, we had an understanding that I was looking for information before I contacted my insurance company to protect myself because I have dealt with insurers returning with low-ball offers. We had an understanding that I was to send him pictures taken by the individual who had recommended him so he wouldn't have to climb into my attic and he would respond with an adjusted estimate. He was trying to sell me an entire roof when I just needed a repair done. He does not listen and is accusing me of being dishonest without any specific evidence. This is a lie. The only reason I wrote this review in the first place is because he wasted my time. He had my business locked on my friends recommendation and he lost it do to his unwillingness to listen or do any work to give me an actual assessment of the problem.

A woke up to the sound of three men in my driveway looking inside my vehicle. I looked out the window in confusion and saw a group of men on my property. I noticed two houses down a roofing company setting up. Always Roofing.
I went outside and told the first man not to park blocking my driveway. The second guy, I asked why he was on my property. Neither spoke English.
A nice young man came over to talk to me.
I asked him why his guys were on my property looking inside my vehicle. He explained they were admiring it and I could tell he was embarrassed. I told him, don't come on my property, don't look at my cars, and don't block my driveway.
I have witnessed these guys spit in the other neighbors yard while on there lunch break.
Mind you, I'm not even a customer just a neighbor.
