Small hidden gem. I love their mango cake. It’s the perfect balance of not too moist & not overly sweet. Just right all around. Cash only, there is parking in the back of the building. The shop is small not a lot of people can go in at the same time. None the least you will be greeted by Sweet ladies that run the shop with fast friendly service. Check them out if you’re in the area or in need of a cake. You will not be disappointed!!

Requested a customized cake based on a inspo pic I found on IG and it came out looking exactly the same. I ordered a marble cake with fresh strawberries and it was so fluffy and delicious. Everything about it was perfect. Will be ordering again soon!

Been using Sweeties cakes for years and always great tasting and inexpensive.
You can even order same day. Mine was ready in an hour and I had simple request half chocolate and half vanilla and spent $40 for a 1/4 sheet.
I ordered a cake and was late next day pick up and they were very nice and understanding about it.
We love their cakes and how fast they prepare it.

I just had this cake at a friend’s kid bday party and I’m just wow’d that I have to leave a review. The cake was so spongy and just enough sweetness that it reminds me of Grandma. And then the cream with the strawberries was just the amount of sweetness. I don’t know the price but just for the texture and flavor alone I would go to this place if I didn’t have a friend always making me a bday cake. Definitely will recommend to people as the mom said it was recommended for her.

Always great cakes at a great price. $40 for 1/4 sheet decorated and made in an hour. Almond slices on the sides.
Best cake and the frosting is whipped so no heavy sugars.

Very nice cakes and not to pricey

Okay, so my first time and here was my experience: Parking is in the back, no street parking because it's all painted red and Normandie Ave is a very busy street, so be cautious and carefully pull into the narrow driveway that leads to Parking for about 8 cars and maybe 12 if they double park. Then walk back to the front of the store, facing Normandie and slide in sideways into the bakery that can only hold about 3 people maximum!!! The owner, Asian lady was very nice and busy at the same time. She started taking my order and without any excuse, she left and started doing something in the back! No problem, their culture! Finally, she returned and took my order. Because it was first time, I ordered a very small cake so I wouldn't be let down in case it didn't meet my expectations. Well, the cake was very fresh, very spongy, and filled with strawberries inside and a cool-whip type frosting on the outside, which is what we called, "Deco-Whip" back in the 80s. Just an FYI: NO BUTTERCREAM IS SERVED AT THIS BAKERY, BUT ITS OKAY!!! The cake was surprising delicious, mildly sweet and was very pretty. (((sorry, no pics due to name on cake!!!))))...
It reminds me of a couple of popular cake joints like the popular Phoenix Bakery in downtown L.A. and Kings Hawaiian Bakery's cakes. It was worth the price and I will return again one day.

I love this little bakery. Of course the strawberry with almonds on the sides of the cake is the star but I do like when I used to order ahead of time and got the pineapple. Its been a long time since I did that so I'm not sure if they still do it. They had peach strawberry the other day when I went but went classic, will try it next time. It was the day after Christmas and I was sure if they were even open. I called to check and they were about to close, she asked where I was and told me she would wait for me. I got there and she was in fact waiting for me with the gate half closed. They were super nice and I paid and left as quickly as I could. Amazing customer service and delicious cakes and cookies. They are a staple in their community and I'm happy to support them.

Today is my moms birthday and I needed to get her favorite cake. Like always they are very accommodating here. I ordered a pineapple vanilla cake with roses on it and it was ready in 30 mins. The cake is always so moist and soft and the icing is light and tasty. As always Sweeties Bakery helped make my moms birthday great and memorable. This place is reasonably priced and now I hear they deliver!

Been coming here for years and this is the only cake I request for my bday. I love that it is not too sweet because I do not like sweet cakes. Their frosting is so delicious too and not too sweet either. My favorite is vanilla cake with fresh strawberries. Omg I want some now just writing this review.

Hands down best cakes!!! I love their mango cakes! Tres leches is so moist and tasty! Chocolate cookies are my favorite too! Best part of their cakes is it’s not too sweet! Not much sugar! It’s so moist too! I always have them on my cheat days! Worth the calories! 🙌🙏🏼

I have been coming here for cakes from as long as I can remember! Every I mean every birthday and birthday party I order a cake from here! They have the softest, not so sweet cakes. I recommend this place to multiple people and they feel in love quickly.

They sell the best cakes here the bread is moist and the frosting is just perfect not too sweet plus the filling are from natural fruits. They also have cookies and personal slices of cake. They are yummy 😋

The BEST CAKES FOR OVER 4 Decades. Family owned and the more brilliantly hidden JEM !!! My Granma has been buying my Birthday Cakes here for Decades. I’m in my late 30’s so that’s a lot of deliciousness. Creamy Smooth frosting, soft moist cake, the most delicious fillings you can ask for. STRAWBERRIES ARE THE BEST, and I’m allergic to them!! Almonds slivers are hand decorated to add more texture and the flavor fullness. After 4yrs of my Granma passing, I recently went in. Okay tear time. The owner comes out, Says “Hi Baby” grabs the pink signature pink iconic OG bakery box and starts to fill it with all my Granma’s favorites... Chocolate Eclairs, Cream Puffs, Meringue Cookies, Authentic Chinese Almond cookies (Granma’s favorite, so she’d call them “toe-nail” cookies, so my cousins and I wouldn’t ask for any!), they shes asks, “baby what else did Momma send you for? I know she wants a round strawberry with purple roses, NOT PINK! I started to tear up and cry. She asks why I’m crying, and strata to cry!! Your Momma is gone, that’s why no orders for such a long long time?!? She hands me a CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE! She says, here baby don’t be sad. Granma is having better cakes, well maybe my family is the bakers in heaven too so the same Sweeties fit her. The chocolate chip cookies are TO DIE FOR!!! The bakery shop has a huge case of delectables and confectionery goodness! Then there is the mighty enormous selection for any decorative cake you can think of and they will do it! Want to bring in your own actual toys and finishes, go ahead!! The sizes of cake assortment is also great. Anyone who has tasted a Sweeties Cake knows when they are eating another one, after the FIRST BITE! I’ve heard their tres leches cake is the best EVER! Latino’s come here and pay for their Chinese cake masters to create the authentic cake. They make occasional and seasonal desserts and take special orders. There is a window time expected for all cake orders. They are always busy and have short hours of operation. The delicious consistency of phenomenal flavor is unbelievable. They are legit the best hidden JEM in the WHOLE SOUTHBAY. Covid restrictions are high! It’s a small tiny store front. Parking is small and behind the bakery. The Bakery is so small you’ve probably passed it 100x’s. Go slow and take some time to treat yourself and others to a genuine Sweetie’s Bakery Treat. You’ll be glad you stopped and tried this delicious slice of deliciousness!!

Went in to go pick up a white cake with strawberries just because the wife was craving it since we were in the area. So delicious and so light tasting, you don't feel guilty eating it. We had it for dessert with coffee.

We had a birthday cake made here, and it was beautiful and delicious. The staff and owner were very helpful and accomdating especially when we had to make some last minute changes. To top it off, the price is reasonable. Highly recommended.
