Captain Kidd's Fish Market & Restaurant

Great restaurant by the water. Choose your fresh seafood from the fish market to either cook at home or get them to cook it for you there. Blue point oysters were large and sweet with no brine flavour. Crabs were deliciously steamed and cracked for you. Peel n eat shrimp were roasted just right.

Love this place! From the outside it may look like a dive, but inside you will find an amazing selection of fresh seafood. There is also a restaurant with a great variety of prepared seafood dishes. There are also a few items for those not into seafood.
I had the lobster roll which came with 2 sides (I chose fries and slaw). They have a great assortment of beers available as well. I found a great place to sit outside on the open patio in the back while I waited for my order number to be called. Love the vibe. It reminds me of some of my favorite seafood places at the beach in NC!

Kevin was super helpful helping me decide what to get. Being from New England, I KNOW good seafood. I asked for his best suggestion and he said, without hesitation, the lobster roll. He didn’t disappoint. It was seasoned well, meaty, and the bun was toasted to perfection. So glad I found this local gem!

Turns out, I was glad my phone order wasn't ready when I went to Captain Kidd's because I would have missed out on how courteous and friendly the staff is there. I got to sit down for a minute and enjoy the beautiful views they have from their restaurant and a delicious Cpt. Kidds Blonde beer. They have outside seating as well, which looked amazing. When I got up to wait for my order, employees were shuffling past and each of them looked me in the eye and shared a "Hello" or a nod & a smile of acknowledgement. What?! The gentleman who helped me, David was genuinely kind and apologetic for my order not being ready. He helped me be on my way and couldn't have been nicer. Now, imagine that the food was just as amazing as the staff. This place is top notch. I wish I had better pictures, but I guess you'll just have to take your family and see.

GLENN is the most amazing guy you’ll ever meet. I don’t write reviews often, if at all. But man, Glenn is a gem of a guy. He helped me out immensely when I was stressing out all day on fish.

I wasn’t going to buy any restaurant food when I walked in, but my experience with Glenn has changed my mind. Not only did I get fish and chips to go, I’m also now a loyal customer, after just one visit.

A beautiful location by the beach, and the most amazing ambiance inside. Well worth 5 stars, if not more.

Crab-lovers: This place is for you! Best crab shack in SoCal. Colossal selection of live crabs. You pick it, the steam it. Manager is amiable and helpful. Staff are pros with cracking crab. They also leave white paper for you to cover the table. Great view of the ocean. But you have to leave a deposit for their clamps and hammers.

I've been coming here since the 80's and love the indoor and outdoor seating. I always seem to get the oyster either fried or raw although I have tried the fish sandwiches and clam chowder. This one of my favorite spots to bring friends and relatives who enjoy the fresh fish selections and the atmosphere.

Fresh fish cooked with seasoning and style of choice. My husband and I had grilled fish swordfish and halibut. Tasty rice pilaf, Cole slaw, garlic bread. Lots of sides to select from. Definitely will be back!!

My family and I ate at Captain Kidd's for a mini family gathering. It was amazing. There was something for everyone. The outstanding service started with Ethan who was so helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. He took our order and made certain everything was just right.

People had everything from lobster, shrimp and crab to whatever looked yummy. Everyone remarked about how delicious the food was, how thoughtful the staff was, and how much fun the dining experience was.

This is the freshest seafood anyone can get. People can even look at the tanks with the crab and lobster. This was especially fun for the kids. It truly is a family dining experience. It's casual and friendly with the best food. Twila

Simple, quality food. I ordered the yellowtail plate w Cajun spices, mushroom rice pilaf, and a side salad all for $20 incl tax. The fish was of a decently sized portion and cooked perfectly, the rice was delicious, and the salad was a pleasant surprise of mixed spring greens (vs iceberg lettuce) w diced tomatoes. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

Laid back, clean and peaceful. The staff was so nice and accommodating. One of the workers brought out a live crab and a live lobster and let my kids “pet” them; they were thrilled. The price point was really good for fresh seafood as well.

Went to this wonderful restaurant today! Seafood is great! I bought a burger, they didn't give me more fries and a salad! Everything was very tasty and not expensive! There is a toilet, the toilet is clean. It's important for me. The staff is polite! I was also able to charge my electric scooter, there was a terrace and sockets outside. Thanks! I really enjoyed eating and spending time with you! I recommend everyone to visit!

This is a no frills, cooked to order seafood place that has fresh and quality seafood. There's also a kids menu. You'll most likely wait in line to order. It's well worth the wait.

Polite service when I ordered lunchdeal sandwich with cod..Llittle bit slow preparing but when I receaved it, it was worth waiting. Grilled cod was very good; crispy from the surface and soft inside. For dessert I picked half of douzen oysters and they were marvelleus; fresh, big and chewing sensation was just right. With oysters I had glass of sauvignon blanc. Wine was good enough and amount was generous. Prices: lunch sandwich ~10$ (cheap), Oysters 3.50$ each(reasonable to expensive) and wine 8$(reasonable). 4,5 stars from me.
