I was using healthgrades to look at specialists in the UCLA system. Dr. Hove had recommended I see a specialist.

A lot of the specialist reviews I read were not very flattering. That caused me to wonder what Dr. Hove's reviews looked like.

I was surprised to see that he only had one review. So I decided to write one.

Dr. Hove is the best primary care doc I have ever had in my 77 years. I started seeing him about 5 years ago and have never been disappointed with my interactions with him.

He's a good listener, a thoughtful and careful explainer, and always gives reasons for his decisions about my care.

He has referred me to specialist when appropriate.

The office in Redondo beach is a one hour bicycle ride from my home in Marina del Rey but during all the years I have been seeing Dr. Hove I never considered looking for a primary care doc that might be closer.

The Redondo Beach office is the best I have been to in the UCLA system. The place is always clean and staff members are friendly and very professional.

I never hesitate to recommend Dr. Hove to friends.

Dr. Hove is my general practitioner and works for the UCLA practice and Redondo Beach. I've honestly never had a better experience with any ongoing treatment of any kind. The office is constantly clean, the staff is respectful, appointments are always on time, and appointment time frames rarely take more than approximately 20 minutes (and somehow seem to address all concerns). Prescriptions are sent, if needed within minutes of the appointment, I've always been contacted very quickly with any lab results, and the doctor is easily reachable on the app to send messages which is so much easier than calling. They even have walk-in appointments throughout the day I believe Monday through Friday but still rarely seem to have a full office. I've also never once had any issues with insurance billing which I've experienced with multiple other practices outside of UCLA. I've also noticed Dr. Hove actually communicates with other doctors that are part of my treatment plan. It's not me or notes constantly relaying information but he's actually keeping up with the ongoing care with other doctors. Maybe I had low expectations because I've been treated at the VA for too long or maybe this is just a really great place to be seen with a really great doctor.
