I prefer exercising outdoors. Never been a fan of gyms unless it's pouring rain/dumping snow/or apocalyptic weather.. Hahaha.
The Signal Hill trails not only are a great cardio because of the hills, but also offer incredible views to the mountains and to the ocean. Just fair warning, you might spot an occasional coyote early morning hours, but its usually more unfortunate for cats out rather than people. If you do have a small dog without you on your walks/hikes, be sure and have a flashlight and make a lot of noise and the coyotes will run off.. but i should stress, its Rare to actually be confronted by one.

It's a nice trail with good views... Easy if you are a hiker. More difficult since uphill for the causal walker.

Nice little hidden away gem. Happened to visit on a really hot day so we just sat in the shade, but a great park to let little ones wander freely and safely. Nice jungle gym equipment...it appeared to be sort of "closed" with yellow tape but that didn't stop anyone from playing on it (seems a little ambitious to keep kids of play equipment at this stage in the pandemic). Amazing views of Long Beach airport and of East LA into the SGV.

A beautiful and easy trail that leads to the Hill Top Park with amazing views of the LBC and the Pacific Ocean.

The wide dirt paths are enclosed by drought efficient flowers and other plants, plaques with historical information about the oil rigs, and even a few exercise stations.
