Shade Hotel Redondo Beach

My recent stay at Shade Hotel was outstanding in every aspect. From the warm welcome by Nicole at the front desk to the impeccably clean and spacious room, the experience was exceptional. The hotel's facilities, including the fitness center and dining options, were top-notch. What truly stood out was the exceptional customer service provided by the staff, everyone went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. I highly recommend Shade for a truly extraordinary hospitality experience.

We had the most amazing stay at The Shade! The room was immaculate, the tub on the balcony was spectacular, and all staff members were so attentive and nicel! It's boutique & posh without being snobby. The location is perfect- walking distance to both Redondo and Hermosa. We didn't have time to get the bikes but saw people enjoying them. The restaurant is fabulous too! My son and I came down from Alaska to celebrate his 21st birthday and they went out of their way to make sure he felt special- means the world to this mama :)
If I'm ever in the area again I'll have to stay here, nothing else could compare!

The Shade was a very beautiful and relaxing hotel. The service at the hotel was extremely friendly(aside for the restaurant "sea level", see my reviews statement for that restaurante!

All in all the I would love to come back to this hotel in the future, maybe try out a different location. The best and my most favorite enjoyable moments was in the tub, that was located on our private balcony. The tub is outside people!!! Yeaaasssssss

I always love coming here for a quick staycation. The staff is always so sweet. Special shoutout to athena and nicole! I was greeted with champagne and cookies. The marina view was great. Definitely recommend!

TL;DR: book it.

My significant other and I have been together for almost ten years, and this is the best hotel experience we have ever had. It was my first time in California, so I was looking for a hotel near the coast to watch the sunrise/sunset, and this one fit the bill.

The booking process was seamless and went off without a hitch. We were in town from the East coast for a cruise and asked if we could get an extended stay by an hour, and they happily obliged. Even before our stay, they called to confirm our appointment and asked if there was anything they could do to accommodate us further.

After almost 8 hours of traveling, the staff was friendly and accommodating when we got in. We got our hotel key promptly and asked if we wanted any beverages before we headed to our room.

When I booked, I got the package with the wine and chocolate strawberries, and it was well, well worth the price. It was the best hotel experience we'd had, and was super, super well-priced.

There was a fantastic restaurant on site, which I hope to review separately (high regards nonetheless!!). The amenities, views, and overall experience were fantastic.

All in all, 10/10 would recommend and visit again.

We stayed one night but the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a glass of wine and offered great amenities such as bikes for exploring. I didn't even mind the loud seals in the harbor arguing throughout the night, lol. There are two restaurants within a few feet of the hotel so it was not far from the airport and a very nice experience.

This place is beautiful. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra money and get a 2nd or 3rd floor room with a view. Sitting out on the balcony, watching the sunset over the marina. So peaceful.
Rooms were nice, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.

If you are think about booking , DO IT everything was 10/10 . Gave glass of rosé and cookies upon arrival and sent a bottle up to my room. The hotel is so clean the staff of amazing and uplifting. Room service was perfect everything about this place exceeded my expectations I’m so happy with this purchase best money I’ve ever spent . Enjoyed myself so much I’m going back next week . If your booking get the deluxe king suite it’s worth the money . Gorgeous view and even some visible seals which was a plus. If I could give 10 stars I would . This place will NOT disappoint you . Cheesecake Factory is literally next door no driving needed also an amazing restaurant connected to the hotel with 10/10 service as-well so happy I chose this place .

I ate at the restaurant for breakfast. It was a great Breakfast Burrito with the salsas and sour cream. The Bloody Mary there was extraordinary. There are several Mimosa flavor options. One of the flavors is better than the others because it tastes more natural.

Beautiful well appointed and modern rooms. The management has taken extra care in making this a beautiful experience. Cookies or sparkling at check in, a detailed television channel reference, a black cloth to remove make-up, nice duvet and comfortable bed (king available), marina view available, and a heated outdoor jacuzzi pool. Good selection of nice restaurants nearby.

Great room. I loved the water view. Wedding venue was amazing. The hotel restaurant had great food. The avocado salad was the best!

Much needed getaway with my wife and pups. This hotel goes over the top with service to the guests and the pets, dog toys, free wine and a patio bathtub, how can it get any better! We will def be coming back!!!

Decided to break away for the night, last minute, and we booked this hotel. Checked in after midnight and were greeted by the sweetest woman at the front desk. I normally book airbnbs to break away and we informed her of this so she went out of her way to assure we return to the hotel. The room she placed us in was perfect and more than we planned for. She also gave us bath salts for the tub (which is on the balcony). My boyfriend and I had a perfect night, the room, shower and lights were all gorgeous. The room also came with top-shelf liquor options for purchase, displayed nicely. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast the following morning from the hotel restaurant. I forgot the name of the woman who checked us in but we are so thankful for her hospitality and kindness at such a late hour in the night. Will definitely be returning!

Love coming here! Plus it is an E-Bike Friendly Business! They have a bike rack near the waterfront. The bike rack has tons of people walking past also. Makes me feel confident that I can lock my e-bike up there and not have to worry too much at all. Coming back with my friends on my next stay!

Wow, hidden gem! We had a great time hanging at the pool and on our balcony. Gotta get back for longer stay next time. Enjoyed the restaurant and bar... neat location.

Would also be perfect not to have neighbors with a barking dog 24/7. I don’t know why such a nice places allow loud animals to the hotel… this part is disappointing

We booked this hotel last minute when we extended our stay in the LA area. I was able to get a discount code directly on their site and the cost was very reasonable for the location and facilities. We didn't get to check out all the amenities but those we saw/experienced were great. We had come from a nearby 5 star resort and to be honest, our room and in room amenities were nicer at Shade. Though we didn't use it, we appreciated the availability of the stocked mini bar. Lighting in the room was fun, the bathroom was clean and modern, and the bath was fantastic. On top of the usual bathroom stuff (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc) they had a toorhbrush/paste kit and fantastic smelling bath salts. They also greeted us with cookies, can't go wrong with that, ha ha! We were also able to check in quite early which was great since we had to check out of our other hotel at 11. The *only* not ideal part was the walk to the beach but we knew about that when booking so I definitely don't hold that against them. It wasn't super far but would be a bit of work if you were wanting to take enough stuff for a day out on the beach.

We didn't get the chance to check out the rooftop pool. We noticed at both hotels we visited they closed the pools at sunset which was new to us and inconvenient during early sundown months but wouldn't deter me from staying again. Just a head's up for future visitors.

I am in love with the Shade Hotel!! We had such a fantastic 2 night stay as well as our wedding at the hotel and it was all a dream. Every room is superbly comfortable, location is great, staff is amazing and whole overall vibe is wonderful! I can't say enough wonderful things about Shade Hotel Redondo and thank the hotel for an amazing stay.

Nothing but calm and great service here. Great service with valet from the time you arrive even when you dine at the sea level restaurant next door. This is my staycation getaway. The view of the marina is spectacular. It does get cold in the winter and it’s just perfect in the summer. For the winter months there are plenty of heaters and there is always hot water. Especially great if you want to soak in the patio tub and look at the amazing view. They have a rooftop swimming pool which is more like a giant jacuzzi with even more spectacular views. The decor is modern as is the amenities and I highly recommend.

Always love the Sea Level restaurant on the marina within the Shade Hotel. Been here multiple times and I keep coming back! Stunning location, beautiful sunsets and a sensual scene. You can go casual or dressed up. Bar is beautiful and stocked. Love that they have gluten free choices! The gluten pizza and calamari were so delish! Great drinks, too!
