Big 5 Sporting Goods

We really liked this Big 5 store in Lakewood. Parking is so easy in the large lot, it is part of a strip mall.

I was on a mission, my grandson has lost his noise cancelling headphones now 3 times and I have had to replace them 3 times. He goes to a lot of concerts and he knows, your headphones are on your head or in the car, do not just leave them lying around. So, when he did it again, I told him his mom was going to have to replace them as his behavior shows a lack of responsibility for items that he is tasked with caring for. Anyway, I saw this Big 5 on the way to the taking him to the circus so I caved and pulled over.

We went in and the cashier was very nice. She was not sure where the headphones were, so she asked a salesperson walking the store. He knew right away and showed me where they were and was able to tell me a little about the selection. I mean, they go from cheap to our you kidding me prices. I found the perfect pair made by Razor and went to the cashier. On my way there, I saw a lot of cool stuff had I been shopping.

I told the cashier I was concerned with fit so had all intention of paying for them, opening them right there and trying them on my super sensitive grandson's head. She was fine with that and was going to just let me get another pair or give me my money back if we could not find a great fit. These were perfect. She was happy, we were happy. It all worked out.

So, I do like this Big 5 very much. And as to the grandson if he loses these, he will be digging ditches to learn the value of money.

I can always find what I need here! The store is very clean and organized. There are enough employees to help the customers and they even offer help out to the car...which comes in handy when buying 2 Canopies.

This is the place to go when you need your family outing, Camping supplies, 🛼 Roll skates , All your Family out door fun , staff is very nice so go and enjoy the outdoors 🤗, My Grandson has his first Roller skates and he is enjoying them for the Holidays 😊

This place is very clean and organized. They always plenty of items for different ocassions. They have plenty different items for sporting, hunting, etc.
Prices are reasonables and if you sign up onilne, you will get awesome discounts and coupons. Take advantage of the specials!!!

Called in advance about stock availability. Was given the run around for 10 minutes by multiple employees but then spoke to Daniel, who was very quick and professional with customer service. I highly recommend asking for him if the other staff are incompetent.

It's really a hit or miss with customer service at this location. Many of the front desk females are selectively rude. However, all that changed with a young lady I met Sunday. The receipt says her name is Angelina. She appeared to have roots from the Pacific Islands. She wears glasses, has a great personality, and has strong customer service skills. Potential like that only needs the right environment to bloom.

I went in looking for a particular item (camping pillow) and the sale attendant was not only helpful but also helped me in picking out other items. Sales person Regan was very knowledgeable in what I was asking for and sho said old be applauded in her job. Keep up the good work!

They had some hiking shoes I was looking for (other locations didn't have the size I needed in stock) so that was a major, major plus! Great customer service and good selection. Clean inside. I wish I got the name of the guy that helped me because he was super helpful! Make sure to sign up for Big 5 promos since it knocked a few $ from the total. It was Very Successful I Need Some Work Shoes the Sales Person was Extremely Helpfull as Knowledgeable about their Products. Cashier was Very Positive and Nice They Always help me when Need anything have Also Gone to Another Store in PASS to Get My Correct Shoe Size. They had such a killer deal on work boots. I got lugs steel toes for only fifty buck. They usually go for about 90. 💯👍😎

I went to Big 5 in hopes of finding a good quality knife for camping and other outdoor activities! Belen helped me find the perfect one and some pepper spray for self defense. A very nice young lady who was holding down the storefront. 10/10 would come again.

Always a great place to find what I need. Whether it's work shoes, gym stuff (chalk, plate clips, weightlifting belt) or other items, they have a good selection of well, goods. I even picked up a nice pool stick that wasn't expensive once. Staff is helpful and courteous anytime I go.

It was a nice experience. They always have good deals on shoes. The person working the shoes, that was person, even though he was working alone, he gave the best service. There was a frustrated elderly man there, who had been looking all day for a good pair of shoe, for his aching foot condition, and the person helping him took the time to help him and listen to him, even as he had others waiting. My heart went to the man. In the end, he didn't achieve his goal but he was so grateful for the help he received, he thanked the salesman and went on his way.
