No reservation needed.

Items are served family style.
I love spicy food, the spice level of the dishes are perfect! I feel my sinuses clearing after a good meal here.
The numbing spice level is great too.

I always order the toothpick lamb when I come here. No bad dishes yet.

I love Ruiji Sichuan Chinese restaurant, their menu has quite the variety and many delicious foods even if you don't like spice which I think is their main personality. I always get their Sichuan popcorn chicken that leaves a numbing feeling after eating a few, but if you can handle spice you'll keep on eating it anyways, but if you can't handle spice the sesame chicken is a tangy and sweet option (reminds me of sweet and sour pork but chicken). I also love their sticky rice in brown sugar (it's heavy, sweet, and fluffy when warm but has more of a mochi texture if you have it for a later for takeout however it's delicious in anyway!) Or if you prefer something light, cold, and refreshing the cold pudding in brown sugar (Allergy: Peanuts 🥜) is also amazing, maybe a slight acquired taste though. I also reserved a private room this round which you need a minimum of $200 bill, we were a bit short (11 invited but only 7 could make it) but the staff warned us and were okay about it this time around. Ruiji has the one of the most authentic Chinese food I've ever ate, and if you're planning for a private room meal with spicy crab and lobster you would need to make reservations for the room and that seafood. I've also went with my group of National Chinese Honors Society members and tried their mapo tofu(Has their signature Sichuan spice, really good!) and their sweet and sour fish (If you're a fan of fish and feel adventurous you must try this sweet and tangy fried fish dish, their presentation is one of a kind!) Overall, if Google gave prominent reviewers one six star review for their favorite restaurant (GOOGLE THIS IS AN IDEA!), this would be the restaurant I would give that to!

Ruiji is a great visit for authentic Sichuan cuisine. They have some of the normal western dishes, but also some more authentic items you wouldn’t find at other Chinese restaurants. My friend got the General Tso and it was good, but a little on the sweet side for me. I prefer more savory and spicy when I order this dish. I got the Sichuan Popcorn Chicken. It was nice and spicy, salty, and savory with garlic and a nice amount of sichuan pepper and red chilis. I hope to try other dishes when I visit again.

Always a banger. Love the toothpick lamb, spicy pork ribs and string beans. Everything is delicious. Be careful with the beef noodle soup, it's very spicy!

Great for leftovers if you buy too much but want to try different dishes. They even pack the leftovers for you!

Great for big groups.

THIS IS THE BEST SICHUAN CUISINE RESTAURANT EVER!!!! We love Malatang so obviously we fell in love with Sichuan cuisine. There are a couple of Sichuan restaurants around the town that are quite famous. BUT we found this gem just yesterday and COULD NOT BELIEVE WE DID NOT TRY EARLIER! You can tell that this place is good just by looking at who are eating in this joint: old Chinese folks. When your old fams of your food origin is eating your food like it’s nothing, you KNOW it’s good hahaha yes, not a pretty photos but we could not wait to try and DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

Who doesn’t love a bit of mouth numbing watery-ness?

After living in Shanghai for years and being married to a Chinese man, it’s safe to say, I love Chinese food!

We discovered this gem at a previous location in Garden Grove, and we instantly fell in love. The food will make you shout and the price point will make you shout even louder. Unfortunately, that location closed down so we had been waiting for an occasion to come up to Lomita from Orange County.

We came up for our anniversary and it was worth every cent and mile.

Taste:
While I lived in Shanghai, I probably didn’t have the most authentic Sichuan cuisine, but for sake of argument, it was close enough. There is something about the 麻 (numbing) of peppercorns mixed with the heat of chilis. There are definitely dishes I like more than others, but I can’t say there was one bad choice on our table. Everything was simply amazing. Mushrooms, heat, 魔芋 (sorry, I don’t know how to say this in English), flavor, meat, and everything that came out of their kitchen was fire.

Price:
At first glance, each dish seems kind of expensive. Once they’re served, you’ll know you’ll be eating for days. We have a tendency to over-order, so that meant lunch for us and our daughter the next day. We spent around $60-$70 for our meal. For authentic Sichuan cuisine, I didn’t feel this was all that bad. Again, this gave us leftovers that we happily garbled down the next day. So we’ll worth the cost.

Recommendations:
口水鸡 - mouth watering chicken (can’t remember how they translated it on the menu)

干果菌类 - dry pot assorted mushrooms
(Anything dry pot is amazing - I also like it with frog)

水煮鱼 - boiled fish in chili oil (by far my favorite anywhere I go)

Other recommendations (didn’t have this time):

麻婆豆腐 - tofu in a pork chili sauce
干煸四季豆 - basically green beans (a big fav of mine)
牙签羊肉 - the best lamb you’ll ever have
孜然羊肉 - more lamb you’ll love but with cumin
泡椒木耳 - wood ear mushroom is rubbery but filled with collagen for beautiful skin lol - also good for vegetarians

I could go on and on, but if you’re looking to venture outside of your typical Panda Express repertoire this is the place to go!

Every time I visit family in Torrance I always have to go to Ruiji for take out. I always get hot and sour soup. Most of the time I consider theirs to be the best I have had. ( unfortunately, on this visit their soup was not quite up to par. I consider this a onetime slip up.). Their sautéed green beans are excellent. I happen to really like General Tsao chicken. I would suggest that they reduce the sweetness a bit. The sauce can be a little too close to an orange chicken sauce. Overall, I really like this place.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in the south bay. Highly suggest the fish dishes (one is pictured) and steamed dumplings.

Great MaLa experience in the southbay. Even though I may have been profiled and had the spice level downgraded a little, the food is still high quality. The people who work there are very friendly and service is great. Make sure you get a large Tsingtao to wash everything down!

Love this place. My first introduction to authentic Sichuan dishes. My go to dishes lately are the Beef, Tendon, Stomach appetizer (great with onion pancakes and eat like a taco), Spicy Mung Bean Jelly Noodles and Dan Dan Noodles. I've tried their Cumin Toothpick Lamb which was good. Can't wait to try the Dry Pot Beef Tendon. The Dry Pot Vegetables was delicious. I found the service to be professional and quick.

Ruiji is a gem in the South Bay. For lovers of Chinese food, Sichuan cuisine is considered one of the top styles of Chinese cooking, renowned for it's use of fragrant chilis and oils as well as the numbing spice of the Sichuan peppercorn. Few restaurants offer truly generous use of these ingredients as they are not always enjoyable to a Western palate, but Ruiji is definitely not one of those places. Make sure to order classic Sichuan dishes like Mapo Tofu or try something truly authentic like Twice-Cooked Pork Belly or the various adaptations of Fish in Chili Oil. For the truly adventurous, as for dishes to be prepared Sichuan hot and be prepared to feel the burn.

Pair the great good with a comfortable ambiance and good service a d that's why Ruiji deserves it's place as one of the areas best Chinese restaurants.

Amazing Sichuan food in South Bay. The cold noodle, all the fish dishes, and pan fried veggies are all great. Very friendly staffs too.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area right now. Authentic Sichuan flavors. Come here if you like strong savory flavor and some heat. Not everything has to be spicy, but the Sichuan tingle is amazing! Cold jelly noodles, beef noodle soup with hand sliced noodles, mapo tofu, and spicy eggplant are favorites.

Our favorite Northern Chinese restaurant in South Bay. With so many westernized chinese places in Torrance, this place helped us avoid moving due to the other gross options.
