Love this place, the customer service was excellent, no complaint about the shopping choices, lots of deals, lots of household stuff... it's not all hardware. They had exactly what I was looking for. A very long tool to go inside a lamp base from the bottom up to the light fixture. I needed something to hold onto the nut while I tightened the top part. They had a couple of choices at varying price ranges. This solar lighted address marker was pretty cool.

I come here for a few select items. Even if you're not a huge fan of the quality of their power tools, you can't beat their warranty. For homeowners, this place is the bomb. For contractors, I prefer to buy Milwaukee or DeWalt from the big box stores based on reliability, but that's because we use the tools for ridiculous amounts of time. Homeowners usage is much different and I think the tools, along with their warranties are a pretty good deal.

Harbor freight is a great place to find many different types of tools. They have most things you can imagine. Grinders, hand tools, auto, garden, painting, shelving, cleaning and on and on. One thing is that they are not the best quality, their wrenches and sockets have improved over the years, but other items are not so good, like electric battery drills. However, I go there a lot for things that I may not use very much. For example I got a small belt sander for a certain project, it was not good quality, but so what, it did what I needed. Then I did something else with it, and another thing as well. I found that the tool was very useful and did many things with it. Then I wanted to use it for a different project but it was not good enough. So, then I bought a much better one. You see, I was able to try it out for not much money then realized I could use it for things that I had not previously considered . Some people won't buy anything from harbor freight, because of the perceived quality. This is a mistake because if it prevents you from doing it because it's to expensive, you missed an opportunity. Harbor freight I love this, is clean it's Pat with all kinds of tools for your yard to your car and everything in between. The service is fantastically friendly and they go beyond to help you with your issue. This is the first place I go to look for my items before I hit any other store. Great customer service. But you can tell only one person is the best worker… the big guy looked lazy and the girl didn’t look too happy to be working. Only giving them a 5 stars because of the hard working employee we got!

If I'm looking for quality and longevity this is not where I go first.
I'm usually just getting something I only expect to be short lived and to get me by in a pinch. but they have seemed to up their game a bit on a few items. The new line of generators, welders, and power tools are much better quality. The $60 dollar range Bauer drill/driver with $19 lithium replacement batteries is an excellent deal and has held up well against other popular brands I have.
Most items don't last long but they are getting better.

What makes this store 5 stars for me is the customer service. The cashier lady is always friendly, helpful and always makes sure to greet every customer.
Then you have Steven. I'm not sure what Steven's job title is but that guy is on it!
He has a great attitude!
And in between helping every customer on the floor he is constantly checking back to make sure you are finding what you need.

Just my opinion but corporate would do well to give that guy his own store to manage, if he isn't already the store manager.

Good place if you need a cheap tool fast. The tools here are pretty good but they're not the greatest. I will say that they have tiers of quality tools but for most do it yourselfers the basic stuff is fine. If you find you need a specific tool more often, it's probably best to invest. Their coupons and deals are also a good way to save money.

HFT-Salinas Store has improved immensely over the past year. Stock has improved as have the various choices in store of their budget items. Prices continue to be awesome for said budget quality tools when one just cannot afford the big name labels/tags. In these most tight of times, projects just seem to tear their ugly heads around the house, work and/or wherever Murphy’s Law can strike. HFT Salinas and our surrounding HFT stores, the best I can say is, keep on, Keeping on folks!

Employees are amazing helpful and kind plus when you walk in first things you hear is welcome to harbor freight with a smile. Just that will turn a bad day into a better one. When you ask for help they stop what they are doing to help you with your needs. I have been using their tools for almost 4 years and when I need to change them (when under warranty), I love this place. You just get a new one they scan it and have a good day Sir and thank you for shopping at harbor Freight. NO receipt no problem as long as it's their tools you are good to go. Oh tools work just as good as name brand. I'm a welder and have used their tools all the time.

I love harbor freight tools . I get lost for a good hour going up and down the aisles. they have really great prices that are hard to beat. I bought a lot of great tools at Harbor freight and have been very satisfied with most of my purchases. The majority of the tools I have purchased there have worked very well and were well worth their value. I tend to buy items there that I will only be using every now and then or for a specific project. there are always lots of employees that are knowledgeable and helpful. they have a variety of pet items including humane trapping cages ( I bought 2 and use them to trap feral cats to get them spayed/neutered and returned to their same location ). other items they have include security cameras , lawn tools and equipment like rakes, hoe’s, blowers, and water-hoses, diy green houses, solar lights , flash lights, work lights, battery testers and chargers, paint supplies, ladders, dolly’s and mechanics creepers, tarps in many sizes and thicknesses, replacement tires for lawn mowers , wheel barrows and carts, home safes for guns etc, knife sharpeners, engraving tools, firewood cutters, bolt cutters, tile cutting machines, protective gear, moving supplies, hammers, screw drivers, axes, wrenches, nail guns, sanders/polishers, routers, tool bags and carts, diy auto dent repair and auto painting tools, coin sorters, ramps, generators, air compressors, welding machines and supplies, an array of latex and nitrile gloves, electrical supplies... can you tell I am a frequent shopper at Harbor Freight?

A man's candy store! I could hang in here for hours! Store is always clean, stocked, helpful and covid friendly. Which by far makes this the best Harbor Freight store around! Awesome job by store management (Frank) and the entire associate team for sure! Thank you!
