Food was fresh and delicious. Loved the authentic Mediterranean style options. Very busy with lots of locals picking up food to-go. Best experience would be to sit at outside tables on pedestrian street and people watch while enjoying a falafel.

Such a lovely authentic mediterranean restaurant in Grass Valley. They also had a day old bag of pitas and they were so good to make more pita sandwiches.

Phenomenal food and experience. Fresh pita bread is baked daily on the spot. Hands made falafel like you would expect in an authentic Mediterranean restaurant. A real gem in Grass Valley!

This place is an absolute banger! No it’s not fine dining. No they don’t have table service. But this is best lunch counter in the area and probably is a top 3 restaurant in the whole Grass Valley / Nevada City area.

Everything here is super fresh, bright, colorful, and super tasty. Israeli Mediterranean at the highest level. Tons of healthy options. It’s hard to pick favorites. But we routinely get the Paleo Bowl and Falafel Dip Plate.

It’s so wonderful to find a healthy, conscious eatery in Grass Valley! Super casual and clean place, the staff were kind and welcoming and they answered all of our questions. The food itself is 🤌🤌🤌! *chefs kiss* everything tastes fresh and is made from scratch. This crew knows what they’re doing! Highly recommend if you’re looking for an easy place to grab lunch that’s delicious and doesn’t break the bank. ☺

A real gem in Grass Valley. Recently expanded with a lot more indoor seating, plus the half dozen outdoor tables. The food is consistently exceptional, super fresh & very tasty; I’m partial to the falafel, hummus, mumhmarra, & babaganoush.

Their pita is incredible, light and fluffy, always soft and fresh. AND they have little tins of za’atar for takeaway sale, a big bonus.

Great food, loved the Vegan Bowl all the parts fit together so well. The flavor profile of the sauces was top notch, the falafel was crispy on the outside and moist inside, and the key lime pie was sweet and tart. All I can say is, I'll be back every time I visit the area.

Everything I have had is delicious and fresh. The Sabich bowl was fantastic with so many different items for variety and flavor. The fried eggplant is the ultimate comfort food. They also have gluten free and vegan options.

Very delicious hummus, soups, and standard Middle Eastern food cooked by beautiful women. Good falafel; not too salty. There are places where I always order the same thing, but here, I will be back to try most of the food on the menu.

I first experienced Alon and Tal's food at the farmers market in Nevada City and would always stop by and get a falafel pita each week. I'm glad they opened a store front to enjoy their food at! You can't go wrong with the beef/lamb Schwarma or I love their paleo bowl. All the flavors are so bright, fresh and you feel great after eating there. Definitely one of my favorite spots in all of Nevada County.

Yummy! Fresh food! Loved it. We got the paleo bowl and the vegan bowl. Yummy sauces too and very light. Everything just tasted very fresh and yummy!!

OMG!!!! I’m picky and vegan so as most vegans know and even vegetarians its hard to find a dish at a restaurant that is loaded with flavor and healthy too. My only complaint would be that I wish they had a location where I live!!!! I am here from out of town and I would eat here often if I lived here. Really bummed I wont experience this amazing food again. I had the vegan bowl and every bite had amazing and different flavors, so many flavors and the falafel balls were sooooo flavorful as well. I guess if I had to come up with anything else it would be that they offered a half bowl. The vegan bowl was massive. Great bowl to share with a friend but definitely too much for one person without stuffing yourself. Of all the restaurants I have tried in Grass Valley during my stay here this is the best! Top notch healthy and flavorful food. Something that is rare for a health conscious person like myself.

Do not bother with other falafel joints , this is the real Mediterranean falafel pita, the only ones like this gem are located in LA and the San Fernando valley, worth the drive.

My friend had a giant vegetarian bowl, and I had a half chicken swarma. The pita was substituted with a gluten free wrap at my request. It was delicious and fresh. The red fusion drink was incredible. Be sure to end your meal with an amazing cocoa treat. Can't wait to go back again.

I had the Beef and Lamb Shawarma. It was delicious and the flavors pop in your mouth. A great blend of seasonings and texture. I highly recommending eating here. I also had the dessert ; malabi with pistachio crumble with a sweet rose water syrup; it was very unique but tasty. Then the Red Infusion is a delightful hibiscus tea with a limeade. Very refreshing.

So so good! Happen to be in the area and saw MeZe on yelp. I'm very pleased with the quality and fresh taste. This is the chicken shawarma 1/2 pita and I got the vegan hot chai tea. It was delicious! Definitely recommend!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

As an Israeli and a die-hard foodie, I usually turn into a bit of a food snob when it comes to Mediterranean dishes. But this hidden gem I found in Grass Valley knocked my socks off!

Imagine walking into a place that feels like a friend's cozy kitchen in the heart of the Mediterranean. That's the vibe here. And the menu? Oh boy, it's like a love letter to food!

Now, let's talk Malabi. Normally, it's this dessert made with rice, sugar, and milk - nothing to write home about. But Chef Alon? He's done something wicked cool with it. Picture a raw, gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free Malabi that's actually GOOD. No kidding! It's almost like what I eat when I'm back east, but with a wild, healthy twist.

I scarfed down that dessert (check out the pic of the devoured Malabi!), and it was like high-fiving my taste buds. This Malabi isn't just dessert; it's like a party in your mouth. You can taste the creativity, love, and some kind of delicious magic.

I left that place with a big ol' smile, already planning my next trip back. And that Malabi? You bet I'm having it again. Heck, you could eat it every day, and your taste buds would throw you a parade.

Not many options for Mediterranean food up here. Very glad that Meze is here. Food is great. The bowls are a great, quick takeout option. I’ve had most of the menu. Never been disappointed.

I wish I could have taken a pic of my meal but baby it did not last on the plate! Chelsea was on fire on the line, the woman moves with finesse. Mac was super friendly and helped me decipher the menu. The way she described each dish honestly made it hard to pick. It all sounded so good. These ladies deserve a raise. I will be back to Meze next time I'm in town.
