I haven't been for a visit for quite some time, simply because I don't get to Yelm very often. It's such a cozy place with so many goodies I want to buy, that it makes me sad and thankful I don't live closer! Preservation for my wallet for sure.

I got the log cabin latte special and a donut and both were equally delicious. I would come back again for sure when not heading to other places to just curl up with a book and enjoy my coffee.

If you are looking for a trendy and tasty coffee location, Shiplap will not disappoint. Even the bathroom is adorable. Come prepared to shop for yourself or gather gifts for other people!

The smells travel down the block. The aroma once you open the door is enough to wake you up. Doughnuts and coffee taste great. Staff was super sweet and patient while we all chose from a variety of doughnut options. Wasn’t super busy but a steady flow of customers. Wish I would of gotten a picture. Didn’t have much time to look around since we had plans but would like to stop back and take a look. Thanks for an awesome stop on a Sunday morning.

After reading some reviews, I finally decided to stop into this little shop Tuesday morning because I was craving donuts. From some recent reviews, it seems like donuts sell out fairly quick in the morning and I knew being pregnant, I probably would cry if I couldn’t get a donut. Parking kind of sucks, but that’s not their fault, I just wish there was more lighting especially with how dark it is walking from that parking lot to their front door. As I walked in, I was instantly greeted by a gal, at first I didn’t see anyone which concerned me, but I think she was counting something because she popped up very quickly. I ordered a half dozen of donuts (basic options: glaze donut, powdered sugar donut with lemon, 2 apple fritters, a maple bar, bear claw). I also ordered a 24 oz lotus and my total came out to $25.66, a little pricey but it’s supporting a small business so not complaining too much about price. When I got home, I instantly ate one donut and it was so fresh tasting, I was scared it might taste weird, I’m not sure why, but I’m glad it tasted just as I expected! Will have to return to the shop more during the day time because they have lots of cute things in their space such as designer jeans, baby outfits and binkys, some shoes and slippers and more.

We went on a lovely walk from the park on a sunny day for coffee & cool treats. The service here was the BEST! They are the sweetest coffee gals around. And everything was so tasty. There are also so many cute treasures in this shop! It’s a place to check out for sure.

Very cool cute little place. Plenty of seating including outdoor options, the coffee was tasty, and there are a lot of options for dietary needs. It's absolutely not a place I would let my toddler loose inside because there are many very nice very breakable things. I would hughly recommend it!

My favorite place for great coffee and gluten free scones and cinnamon rolls. I love shopping for gifts and decor while my coffee is being prepared. The owners and staff are wonderful, and the space is friendly and peaceful. I live in DuPont and happily drive to Yelm for the coffee and atmosphere. It’s my favorite place to work when I need a break from my home office.

I visited twice during a short stay in town. The donuts are heavenly, albeit a bit pricey. I recommend the maple bacon bar. To drink, I ordered a suggested coffee, an americano with white mocha. Very good! There's lots of items for sale ranging from baby clothes to shirts to purses and home decor. Plenty of room to sit and chat with a friend in the homey seating areas. There is even outdoor seating.

The apple bear claw was incredible - truly outstanding. Easily, one of the best doughnuts that I’ve ever had.

Staff is really friendly & there is ample seating.

Both drip & americano were good as well.

10/10 would recommend stopping by

Updated:
Shiplap is still the same eclectic mix of coffee house, donut bar, and upscale gift shop but expanded now and has seating - both inside and outside. Also added is a meeting room, more space to shop inside (perfect for families with kids.), a fridge with quick breakfast sandwiches, and a freezer with ice cream novelties.

I applaud the drive and the ingenuity to create such a space. Now if only the parking situation could be rectified.

Original:
It is a cute, eclectic mix of coffee house, donut bar and upscale gift shop. Coffee is good, donuts are fresh. The atmosphere is decidedly farmhouse kitsch. The staff has never been anything but warm and helpful.

There are so many goodies tucked away on every surface, wall and corner. A delight for the eyes. Something new to see every which way you look.

But, BIG but, it also makes it stressful to bring my children in. Little hands need constant minding with all the eye level items inviting them to explore. And since the wares are well-made and sourced from artists, as is my understanding, pricing reflects that. Making it all the more imperative my kids look but don't touch.

I would love to see some more seating inside, but I know that floor space is at a premium. So is parking. Which is most of the reason I gave four stars. We would visit more often but there are very limited options for parking. What is available seems to be multiuse for the many businesses situated around Shiplap. Somedays, there just simply isn't a space available to park and visit.

A very cute farmhouse-inspired coffee shop full of local charm. The gift shop attached always has interesting merchandise, including beautifully crafted home decor. My son and I love to go to Shiplap in the afternoons and buy the half-priced donuts which are made by partner business, Twister Donuts. Shiplap’s staff are always bright and friendly and will go out of their way to make your day better. As long as you don’t mind the Christian music that is usually playing in the background, you will feel great walking into this cozy cafe.

Beautiful local coffee shop. Also sells gifts of various kinds.

Coffee was very good, as were the strawberry fritters. Friendly service. Has much more atmosphere than the big chains.

With my “rebel Yelm”, I cry more! More! More! I had the most marvelously velvety White Coffee Mocha, with the perfect blend of spices lingering on my tongue…this place is cute, clever, delicious, and dangerous (I am highly caffeinated, just like I ordered. ). I highly recommend this become part of your Yelm experience 😁✨♾💎
