John K. Young, DO

Dr. Young is the most down to earth, genuine, kind hearted PCP you will ever have. I’ve been going here since I was a kid. My grandparents used go to him, my parents, myself, and my future kids will too. He doesn’t beat around the bush and gets straight to the point about your health, well being, and wants the best for you. All my life I’ve battled asthma, eczema, and gout. Without him there is no way I would be able to maintain the healthy lifestyle I have today. I’ve had other primary care doctors in the past due to job changes and unfortunately only had HMO and no one is like Dr. Young.

Trust me when I say Dr. Young has your best interests always in mind and only wants to help you improve your health. He works in many hospitals in the Long Beach area as well so he not only runs his clinic but attends to others in need. He is definitely a Long Beach Legend for his service in our community.

Dr. Young is one of the best doctors I have met, honestly. He offers patience, integrity and honesty in his profession. He takes the time to listen and as well to answer your questions. Has a great personality and is very kind. He is the dr. that has helped me the most with my problem.

My brother has numerous major life threatening health issues and he was sent to a nursing facility where Dr Young follows patients there. Out of all the Drs that my brother has seen, i.e. VA doctors (he's a Veteran). Dr Young has been the best in reference to his subject matter expertise/knowledge along with engaging other medical doctors such as Neurologist, Pulmonologist and Cardiologist, and all of this was accomplished in order to ensure my brother was stable and in the best condition. My brother has been in ICU and the Respitory Ward and Dr Young has followed him throughout every aspect. I know my brother is in the best care. I know there is no cure for my brother's condition but I rest well knowing he's in the care of Dr Young. Thank you for all you do, your excellent bed side manners, knowledge and ability to care.

I've been visiting Dr. Young's office since I got to old for my pediatrician. As a person who grew up with family who work in health care and will work in health care in the future, I am proud to have seen Dr. Young practice. For decades he has served his community well, and while I was impatient in my youth over his packed offices and the occasional wait time (especially if my mother or later I signed up as 20+ on the list), it's a testament to the compassion and care he delivers to his patients, along with a dose of positive bedside manner.

Excellent at quick pain relief! He has earned my trust when I have pain. Dr. Young D.O. flawlessly melds his medical practice with a blend of traditional medicine and modern technology. This is not just an expression but fact. For example, while waiting to be seen for a chronic back ache, I observed him step out of an exam room to refer to a large poster of Chinese acupuncture points. He then stepped back into the exam room with syringe and a couple vials of medicine in hand to treated the patient. He has his own XRAY machines and a blood lab in the office so there's often no time wasted waiting for results. This is virtually a one stop everything medical center run by one doc and a team of about 5 helpful staff.

During my visit for back, neck or headache pain he massages and when necessary injects the trigger points to instantly block pain thus helping muscle spasms relax. At the end of my visit he provided advice on exercises to help prevent reoccurring injury.

He is a Hospitalist, [an impressive achievement], and teaches at 3 other hospitals. Since he works at other facilities in the mornings he usually has office hours in the afternoon and early evening. This makes it really convenient for to stop by after work. The office opens at 9am for x-rays, lab blood draws, therapy and other services.

This doctor saved my life! So all these negative remarks are BS! I have proof and I'm willing to share it! He found my double pneumonia when no one else did!!!

He saved my husbands life.

My mother has been going to to this 'Doctor' for longer than she should have and he has done NOTHING to help her either physically or mentally. He may try to convince her that he has, but nothing has changed in her physical or mental health, and in fact she's getting worse. I wouldn't recommend this quack to anyone. Go find a reputable doctor.
