I couldn't recommend taking lessons from Billy more highly. Over the years, he has taught my daughter and me individually, and I take Billy's jam class too. Billy can teach many styles, helps unlock the mystery of the fretboard, and teaches invaluable tips and tricks every lesson. Billy is not just a teacher but a performing musician with a very impressive career playing with and for many famous musicians. If you need guitar lessons, Billy is your man!

Billy is well known in the Sacramento and beyond for being a solid guitarist and entertainer. His other passion is teaching the guitar to all levels of enthusiasts. I have been fortunate to connect with his friendly style of instruction and great compassion towards his students. I recommend him to be your guitar mentor while you learn how to make music together. I’ve been playing the guitar for a long time and Billy has plenty of material to help me keep growing as a musician. He’s a master at his craft and is easy to talk to. I recommend either private lessons or his jam class. I’ve attended one jam class so far and it was fun and laid back 🎸🤘

My son has been going to see Billy for the last 8 years.
He is an excellent teacher and an excellent experienced guitar player.

He puts together a show once a year for his many students to meet and show their talents off to each other, and get an opportunity to see what it feels like to play in front of a group of people.
We've gone to see him live at many shows in the Sacramento area. That has encouraged my son to play and practice more.

Billy's very flexible, meeting at his studio in Orangevale, at his home or even by zoom meeting.

I’ve been playing guitar (by myself) for 40 plus years with little to no practice or learning discipline. I stumble around the fret board with some confidence and skill, and can entertain myself with ease. But whenever I get with a friend or two to play, my nerves and lack of playing experience takeover. That causes doubt and dissatisfaction. Not Fun!

Jam Class is exactly what I need to break through and build confidence by learning and playing with others.

In short time I can feel the nerves begin to settle and confidence build. Most importantly, I am starting to enjoy playing like I haven’t in years.

The Jam Class instructor brings his playing experience and teaching techniques to each session. Sharing simple yet critical information that helps me and all of the students become aware of communication, roles and discipline needed when playing music in a band! Only real experience can teach what is taught at Jam Class.

I have been taking lessons with Billy for almost 20 years now, and I can easily say that he is a highly skilled and highly versatile guitar teacher. Whether it's guitar basics, learning good practice habits, music theory, soloing, or understanding how to jam with others, Billy has the ability to change his lessons based on your skill level and interests. When I started, I had barely even picked up a guitar, and now I jam with others and play gigs every once in awhile. It's been great to have a guitar teacher who has been there and helped me improve all along the way. I would highly recommend Billy as a guitar teacher for any level student.

Billy is not only a very talented professional musician. He is a very patient teacher, who passes these skills along to his students. I know firsthand! Billy was my first teacher since I was 16. Learning from him let me find such a wonderful outlet that I continue. I now found Jam Class a relaxed environment to play and learn with people with the same goals as yourself. So you get the experience you need to play with other people. It is so much fun!

Billy conducts his lessons with the utmost respect & professionalism by understanding the abilities and skill levels of his students when delivering instructions. His hands-on, multi-media instruction help students learn in different ways and is available whenever they need it whether in class or out of class. Above all, Billy’s individual instructions to students in class is done in such a way that students feel comfortable conducting exercises and are not afraid of making mistakes. This is such an important attribute when it comes to teaching people in any discipline and Billy does a masterful job in making his students feel at ease and confident during instruction.

Guitar lessons with Billy has opened my eyes and ears to a new level of playing classic rock songs, blues and a variety of great guitar songs and styles. Billy’s years of playing professionally demonstrates these songs and lessons have prepared me to play in a live band with drums and bass on the 4th lesson of each month.

Jeff beck, and Bad Company. These are only a sample of what we have learned so far. I plan to soon play with the live band in a high quality and low pressure performance environment for an experience I can share with my friends and family!

Billy is the best! Very patient and relays the information well so I understand what I am supposed to be doing. Billy also makes sure I learn correctly and no bad habits! If you want to learn about and play the guitar Billy is your man.

I have been trying to play guitar off and on since High School. I have been through many instructors over the years, but no one has been able to translate my passion for music into a plan to improve my playing beyond my bedroom noodling. Billy has finally been able to channel my desire to play into marked improvement.

Beyond the music store lessons, Billy offers a weekly Jam Class. We learn a song a month in a supportive group atmosphere. The last meeting of the month you play your song with a band! So rewarding.

Billy is tremendously supportive. His positive attitude is contagious and it lifts you past those tricky parts. In my lesson, I’ll get frustrated with a difficult passage and Billy will redirect the attack, “let’s try it this way”. He has always made me feel anything is possible on the guitar.

Billy is a great guitar teacher. I especially enjoyed his jam class, it was low pressure and I've progressed a LOT in one month just playing with him and others in the class. Also, it was nice making new friends along the way. I can't recommend it enough!
