Santa Clara

Its a good looking station. Bike racks, wheelchair accessible, waiting areas. Its in a really nice area right next to the university. Easy to get to from palo alto and connects to many different services. Its so refreshing seeing trains other than Amtrak. Its a service everyone should try if they get a chance.

Great transit … helped me travel from Central Valley (lathrop ) to Sunnyvale in 2 hours .
Very clean and well maintained.

Traveling by car on 680 during peak hours is Stressful , a better approach would be to board a train and enjoy the scenic beauty the ace train offers.

Small but important and convenient station, easy connectivity to buses and ride sharing pickup/drop off point

Trains are a bit delayed, but it's a very safe place near the Police Department.

It's nice too be able to go out in a nice area and have a nice time on the town.

Best rail experience I have had in the USA. $10 to get from downtown San Francisco to San Jose is a great deal. I wish this type of service was available all over the country.

There are several historical train stations along this track. The one at Santa Clara had a historical marker which reads:

SANTA CLARA DEPOT

THE SANTA CLARA DEPOT, BUILT IN 1864, WAS AN ORIGINAL WAYSTATION ON THE SAN FRANCISCO & SAN JOSE RAILROAD LINE. INITIALLY BUILT ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE TRACKS, THE DEPOT WAS MOVED IN 1877 TO ITS PRESENT LOCATION SO IT WOULD BE ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE TRACKS AS THE CITY AND UNIVERSITY.

IT IS THE OLDEST PASSENGER DEPOT STILL IN USE IN CALIFORNIA. THE STRUCTURE WAS PLACED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES, FEBRUARY 28, 1980.

RESTORED IN 1986 BY SOUTH BAY HISTORICAL PATEROZA SOCIETY. PLACED BY THE HISTORICAL AND LANDMARKS COMMISSION 1982.

Took the Amtrak with my little to meet up with family. The stop is clean and safe. Easy to get ride share or public transit.

You can find a cafe about one minute walk of left-way.

These are pictures of the train museum near the Santa Clara University Amtrak station. It is open on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public. It's a fun place to take kids to help get them interested in model trains. It's also a great place for people to hang out and today there was a group of musicians that had gathered to play and sing together.

Pretty good station if you live near the area and want to commute north. Most of the bullet caltrains don’t stop here but some of the Limited stop trains do stop in Santa Clara. This station has good bus connection too. Buses to go towards alameda, Palo Alto etc. They also have a free shuttle bus that takes people to San Jose airport from here!

Clean and well maintained station. Well lit at night, and easy access to SJC via the free VTA shuttle. I much prefer this station over the Dirdon station in San Jose.

Convenient Station with connectivity towards SF and Sacramento routes, and southern routes.

Easy access to Starbucks as well.

The place is well maintained & beautiful designe for the caltrain access & other tickets thing..!!

Cool train station with a lot of trains
