Province Robert C CPA

Rob Province has been my accountant for many years. In this time he has consistently helped with analysis, planning and taxes for both my personal finances and several businesses. He's also consulted as an analyst for a project where outside advice was needed.

I particularly appreciate that as my CPA, he is unequivocally "on my side". Rob's candor in explaining a situation is great, especially on scenarios where there are alternative outcomes where the results may be unanticipated. He's a indispensable resource, I wouldn't be able to run my business without his help.

Absolutely horrible service and communication. I will share our story ...and you make the decision if it is worth taking a chance. My parents had their taxes done with an extension by Mr. Province. My dad called several times as they were nearing the deadline. He was assured all was well and they would be done on time. There were no calls initiated by their office. Numerous calls from dad were unreturned. In October of 2018 they finally sent the forms to sign and they were returned promptly. When my dad called he was assured that this would be electronically filed and he would receive the refund by direct deposit. In December we called and were told it just takes time. Dad was getting worried due to the poor communication so far and i told him i would follow up. I called and asked about the status. they said they would get back to me later in the day. I called 2 days later and was told ... there is a sticky on my desk.. its a priority... i will let you know as soon as i know something. I told her i had gone on the IRS website, they were not showing any return filed and I needed to know the date of the filing because on the where's my refund site it was required. She said she will get back to me because she didn't have the file with her at that time. I told her we need to know...
About a day later i got a call and they said.. we had a glitch with the
electronic filing.. so i asked... when did it get filed? And she said... it hasn't yet, and we're in mid January. in almost 3 months they didn't take the time to call.. She said she would send the return to us and we could mail it in ourselves. I was getting ready to write this review and i said . dad.. before i do.. lets look and see if there is a note saying they are sorry... NADA... my parents have been worried sick on this... furious at the fact that there are never calls back unless preceded by numerous requests on this end for information. I have NEVER encountered such poor business practices... NEVER. You would think Robert would have at least called and said he was sorry. I told them when i was made aware of their not filing the taxes that i would expect they would take care of the penalty... and the response was we will have to see.. we will wait till there is a penalty before deciding. Turns out.. with a refund situation there will not me a penalty. I am not speaking to their accounting skills but with the lack of professionalism we saw by this outfit...we are paying to have this reviewed before sending it in.. We cannot afford to trust this firm.
