Amazing throwback to the days when independently owned small restaurants brought Denver. Great! On the cheap.

Rico's pizzeria is a true gem. They have highly affordable lunch specials and generally good food

Another huge plus, is they have their own parking lot. No parking blocks away and walking to the restaurant, you can park right in their lot.

This is February 2024... Fingers crossed. Nothing changes.

I HAVE BEEN BY HERE SO MANY TIMES AND FINALLY DECIDED TO STOP IN. The sandwich was so good! I ordered the Bronx and the fresh baked roll, the bake on it..it was delicious. I also ordered a slice of cheese for my buddy and it was very good as well. I am so glad that I stopped in. Giant sub and a slice for 14 bucks is a great deal. They also have great lunch specials.

I've been enjoying Rico's for a couple of decades now and it's still just as wonderful as it was day one. Most recently, my family took food out for our weekly family night. My son and I had delicious subs on hand-made bread with tangy creamy Italian dressing and immaculate mozzarella while my wife enjoyed a veggie calzone and my daughter devoured fettuccine alfredo. Everything was just amazing. The service was friendly and fast.

I recently had an incredibly heartwarming experience with this pizzeria, thanks to the owner, Fernando. Amid a chaotic evening with a crying newborn and energetic toddlers, I mistakenly ordered pizza for the wrong day through a new app. Discovering my mistake just minutes before closing, I called the pizzeria in a panic. Fernando, sensing my stress and understanding my situation, went above and beyond. Not only did he remake my pizza fresh, but he also personally delivered it to my doorstep, despite their usual policy of app-only deliveries. This act of kindness turned a stressful night into one filled with gratitude. The pizza was delicious, as always, but it was Fernando's extraordinary empathy and service that truly made an impression. His willingness to go the extra mile for a family in need exemplifies the pizzeria's commitment to community and customer care. For anyone seeking not just great pizza but also a place that values kindness and exceptional service, this is the spot. Fernando and his team have earned my loyalty and admiration.

This place is amazing. I love love Rico’s the staff always makes you feel at home! The flavor is so good everything I have had is amazing! Authentic original if you want real food this is your spot! The lasagna was amazing and the price is unbelievable as well! Pictures next to my husband’s phone so you can compare the size of this lasagna! For only 11 bucks! It also included a yummy salad and bread which was all amazing! Thank you so much for the amazing food and lovely experience every time we visit

We stopped in for a quick lunch, the pizza slices and the meatballs were very good and the service was super quick!

Ok so this tiny Pizzeria has my heart. It really reminds me of my time in the big Apple. The food is always good and the service comes with a smile every time.
Come with your paper game up. A whole pizza with two toppings will hit you $$. But trust me it's worth it.

Sometimes when you see a place with more than four star reviews you have to wonder: do the owners/managers have their friends and family advocating for them? Then you run across a place like Rico's.

I used to be a regular customer of businesses along that stretch of South Broadway. Then my employment changed and I wasn't in that neighborhood often. Even when I was a regular I still never stopped in a Rico's (probably because we were always going to the Breakfast Queen a few doors down). Well, I recently found myself on South Broadway and hungry. I needed a place I could walk to and Rico's had better reviews than anywhere else within walking distance so I decided to give them a try.

And it was good. Everything - the whole experience, from being welcomed at the door to ordering to the food itself.

I really only wanted a slice of pizza, maybe a calzone, but my stomach was doing the ordering so I ended up with lasagna entree, side of sausage, garlic bread and a salad. For too much food, but I was a champ and ate it all anyway.

I only have two complaints, both of them minor:

1 - the sausage was a la carte and was sold to me as a nice addition to the cheese lasagna. I thought it would have been sliced and baked in, not on its own plate. And,

2 - the sauce the sausage was smothered in wasn't that great.

Otherwise, everything was fantastic, especially the atmosphere. I have a soft spot for these tiny intimate family-owned restaurants and this one was worth writing about.

Rico's

Molto Buono! Italian-American Pizza/Pasta Parlor

Location: Englewood. One block north of Hampden on the east side of Broadway,  next to an army surplus store.

Type: About 5 tables for dine-in. Take-out seems to be the most popular. Catering options and prices seem intriguing too. Third-party delivery is also available.

Ambiance: '70's vibe.

Starters: We tried the mozzarella sticks. They were super crispy and took us back to the early '80s,  especially with the fountain soda in plastic red cups (dine-in includes one free refill).

Pizza: The two of us shared a 16" Portofino pizza.  It had a garlic white sauce topped with sliced Roma tomatoes and basil. The crust was perfect: It was thin, yet well-risen and buttery. We ended up only eating half there (2 slices each was plenty),  but happily took the rest home. It was even better the next day.

The pasta options sound great too! We're defintely adding "Rico's" to our favorites list.

Is it uptown? No but it is old school, in Rico's is damn near an institution. It is 100% great food with great service. Full stop. Their calzones are the best in the metro area.

Just moved into the area and let me say this is one of the best pizza places I’ve ever went to. The pizza is amazing and the garlic knots are even better! Going to be eating here a lot!

Honestly great pizza. Im not someone who loves all pizza... I like good pizza. It really was fantastic. We had a veggie pizza and a calzone. Everyone was thrilled! Their garlic bread is on pizza dough so it's much lighter than normal and I liked it a lot.

Born and raised on long Island. Lived in Florida for ten years. Moved to Colorado two years ago. This is the best pizza, hands down!

So here I am getting Hangry, I have passed by this very small restaurant quiet Restaurant. It seems like there might be a drive up window but I am not sure. We decided to go in when you walk in your greated by 4 people in what seems to be the "prep" area and we ask for menus. The staff was super cool and prompt we decided to get 2 of their sandwiches. Roughly 8 mins. later we are handed two very large (approx 18 inches) foil wrapped sandwiches. Even though the 8 mins wait was only 8 mins I was hangry so it felt like forever... we take our order and we sit in the car ( they never offered a table, which was my biggest and only complaint) then the magic happened I opened my sandwiches it had the perfect blend of meatballs, sausage moz, and pepper/onion blend. THIS SANDWHICH WAS SENT STRAIGHT FROM HEAVEN BY GOD HIMSELF. It was perfect. The peppers and onions had just the right crispness. The cheese was melted a filled up any little cracks and crevices. I had my sauce on the side and that's just the way it should be, heavenly.

Best pizza I’ve had in years! The pizza tasted like good old fashioned pizza, nothing fancy, but oh so good!

This is the closest I have gotten to getting a NY slice of pizza in Denver. I am very picky about my pizza - if the sauce is sweet… I don’t want it. Rico’s has a great savory sauce that brings me back to the Bronx 🥹🍕

Rico’s gives major East Coast vibes - from the restaurant itself, to the pizza sauce, to the quality of their pizza dough. Staff is very friendly too!

We wanted some pizza while we were traveling and rather than get a pizza from a known chain we decided to give a local pizzeria a try. It did not disappoint. It is a small building with only a few tables inside. You get menus from the counter and give your order at the counter and then they bring you your food when it is ready. We had pizza, calzone and mozzarella sticks. All were delicious. The locals must feel the same way because it was busy the whole time we were there.

One of the best pizza joints in Colorado. Doesn't look like much but a small pizzeria from the outside but little do you know amazing food is inside. Feels like your traveling to the best pizza place in new york by having one bite. One of the best pizzas i have ever tasted. I definitely recommend this business
