Padre Serra Parish

I'm embarrassed...I am so enthused about my times here that my enthusiasm probably feels like pushing. I don't mean to push, but I start every week with praise, good, gentle music, a really uplifting, encouraging talk, welcoming, accepting people. Then during the week there there are support activities ranging from exercise, bible study, pain support, knitting, writing, youth, kids, parents, and everything else a community needs. I act out some brain damage, and people are kind and accepting. This is where I learned that I can be loved.

Blessed to have this Parish close to home, our main church is Mary Star of the Sea in Oxnard. We love to visit other churches in Ventura County too. Father Patrick is Awesome!! He is warm and kind, his Homilies are well said. This is a wonderful place to visit. We sometimes go here at 5:30pm Saturday Sunset Mass. God Bless!

Great community. Love the architecture of the place, the choir is fantastic, and Father Patrick is a very caring, charismatic pastor.

Attended for a baptism and a wedding. I love the open round concept this church offers . The baptism fountain is super cute.

Unfortunately my visit was for a funeral, but it was beautiful. Hope to come back for a happier occasion.

Just wanted to add my comments on the new arrangement of our church for mass online (4/19/20). Great job: above all I love the fact that the crucifix is visible during the mass/ consecration and the flowers at today's mass were beautiful. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in making our online mass something so special - especially Father Pat's comments on keeping peace, unity and concern for the elderly (I'm 83) .

The community here is beautiful. The parish grounds really promote gathering in community after mass, or really any time. Being a part of the choir here has been a truly nourishing experience, Dominic has a wealth of knowledge and personality well suited for directing a large group. Anyone looking for a Catholic church should definitely check it out!

Been here for over 10 years. The parishioners are very friendly and welcoming. Father Patrick is the best. His singing voice, as well as the choir, are outstanding. Did I forget to mention...no kneelers! Also the church is in the round. Must see and experience. Once you come it's very hard not to come back, again, and again. See you here.

There is no other place like Padre Serra. Father Patrick along with his Deacons and staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. Our family has received many of our faith sacraments here over the last decade. Its an honor to be a parishioner here.

Padre Serra Parish is a beautiful loving and supportive parish. Every member of my family has experienced such a strong sense of community here at this church. One truly feels you are at home right from the start.

Fantastic worship experience!!! Sound Gospel teaching!!! Wonderful music ministry!!! Beautiful buildings and surrounding gardens and Stations of the +Cross. Great fellowship after Mass.

A place of worship, praise to honor God our Creator. Jesus is the center of our lives. Here at this parish, there are many different classes for study bible, cathecism from all grade levels as you can bring your children in for Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Holy Matrimony. There are bible studies, crafts, getting together for exercise program, retreats, youth group to share faith and many other wide variety to encounter Jesus with other people, the church of Christ. A wonderful awesome parish to be part of a family.

The church is beautiful..

It is one of two large Catholic churches in Camarillo. It is the more rececue pitently built one. It is a circular church with the altar located in the center of the building , aside from the church itself it has a hall which can be used for receptions and other social events with a large fully furnished kitchen with an outdoor barbecue. It also has several smaller meeting rooms for use of the parishioners. It such on a large, well landscaped grounds st back with little distance from I'm the access road ensuring the buildings are insulated from road noise. The grounds which provide a venue for nice peacetul walks for meditation.

Made me feel so incredibly at home when I moved to Camarillo for a summer internship. Although I was a complete stranger, the young adult group welcomed me in immediately. Not only are they so friendly but they genuinely care about growing in their faith and understanding of God. In short, God is good and so is this church and community. Shoutout to the young adult group and everyone who welcomed me during my short, but sweet time here in SoCal. I can't thank them enough. 10/10 would visit again (and hopefully will 😉)
