Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital

My dog Ozzy has been going to wheat ridge animal hospital for his cancer for the past three months. Everyone has been so good to Ozzy. The medical oncology team has been so great. They all care for Ozzy and are always happy to see him. Dr.Siewert has been such a good oncologist throughout everything. He is very knowledgeable about treatments, is thorough on his checkups for him and also wants to best for Ozzy as well. Ozzys cancer came back during his treatment and I called the oncology department and they scheduled a same day appointment to see Ozzy and we’re able to treat him on the same day. When I pick up Ozzy after his chemotherapy they talk about giving him treats, chicken, and sometimes I’ve seen them take pictures of Ozzy smiling in the office. He’s still a patient in Oncology and I’m so glad they care for him.

My sweet sheltie puppy Lily was unfortunately hit by a car in September. I called and spoke to Portia who was extremely empathetic and professional on the phone, she said she’d let the ER team know Lily was on the way. When I arrived she was immediately triaged by Amanda, John, Leishay, Dr McKibben and Dr Cicierchi. They were ready for her and stabilized her extremely quickly and kept me updated throughout the whole process. I was understandably a wreck and they all were kind and empathetic and cared so much about me and Lily. She ended up being hospitalized for 4 days in the ICU and was under the care of Dr Meola, Dr Holt, and Dr Hickox. Their communication with me was spectacular- I got multiple updates a day on her progress and was able to visit Lily multiple times. Lily received such wonderful care from her doctors and technicians and assistants in the ICU. I’d like to thank Lexe, Alissa, Megan, Skylar, Amanda, Sarah, Marin, Lindsey, Brittany, Mary, Lexi, Nayeli, and Jenna for all the wonderful care you all gave Lily while she was hospitalized. They treated Lily with the love and compassion like she was their own dog. I am so grateful for the care Lily and I received and am so happy I brought her to Wheat Ridge.
Lily is thankfully on the mend and is almost back to her normal self. And I 1000% attribute it to how quickly she was triaged and how well she was cared for by the Doctors and staff at Wheat Ridge.

Our kitten got diagnosed with FIP and Dr. Moralejo and his team saved her from the brink of death multiple times while we explored our options. Everyone at this hospital is so kind, caring, and amazing at what they do. We are so so grateful for everything they did for our girl!

While you never want to have to bring your pet to the ER, it’s always good to know they will be loved and cared for at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital.

My cat ended up having a very rare neurological disease that unfortunately took him from us but we would have never know the cause without this hospital. The team did everything they could to care for my cat and they were very honest with me about the prognosis (which is always very difficult when things don’t look good).

Today, I received a card from the hospital with condolences from the team and knowing that our cat was so loved by everyone in such a short time was very comforting.

Thank you for taking such good care of my orange boy and doing everything you could for him.

I got rear ended on the freeway and my puppy (and I for that matter) were extremely shaken up. We took her right into Wheat Ridge where the triage nurse immediately came out to evaluate her then we were seen by a tech free of charge. Though I live in the mountains and we were only passing through, Wheat Ridge treated us like family and were unbelievably accommodating. I’ll never forget their kindness and will always bring my pup here for emergency care moving forward. Thank you for taking such great care of both of us!!!

Wonderful first visit with Dr. Villm. I have an 8 month old puppy I brought in for a second opinion on treatment. Dr. Villm was so knowledgeable and engaged in his care. She took the time to listen, educate and form a plan. She sent a follow-up email with his prescriptions and food recommendations before I even made it home!

The staff also were so kind and friendly and my dog was very at ease the whole visit.

The facility was clean and my appointment was on time. The parking lot was even easy to maneuver in my super-duty truck.

I hope to be bringing Rio here for years to come.

It’s always a hard thing having to say goodbye to a dearly loved pet, a best friend, really. Dr. McKibben and the team supporting him on the night I lost my sweet Shelby were supportive, confident and comforting throughout my short time there.

I’m eternally grateful and would desire to have my pups in the same hands every visit.

My experience with Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital was nothing but amazing. I have a highly vet-reactive dog and vet visits are usually nearly impossible. I needed to take my little guy in for a health checkup and to get his vaccines. Dr.Laura McKeever was extremely understanding and attentive and helped create a comprehensive plan so that Aspen could get the care he needed in a safe and effective way. I am so grateful for all of the wonderful and caring staff at Wheat Ridge!

Dr Pochman and tech Leishay in the general practice are two of the most AMAZING people! They were SO patience with my reactive dog Milli. They took the time to get to know her and all the things that make her nervous. Never once did I feel judged when asking questions on how to navigate a reactive dog. I couldn’t ask for a better team to take care of Milli and all her needs. Thank you a million times!

Great experience and helpful staff! We needed an emergency surgery to remove a bone stuck in my dogs esophagus. They called every hour with updates and game planes to remove the bone. We felt very taken care of and they saved my dogs life. Thank you!

The receptionists, techs, and vets here are extremely compassionate, helpful, and honest. They genuinely do want to help your pet be comfortable and healthy. When I went here Friday after being sent from another clinic, I got a grim diagnosis for my cat who passed away yesterday. Doctor MacKibbon was extremely compassionate and descriptive and tried very hard to help my cat despite some serious concerns and a very steep turn for the worse after being halfway through her third medication. My cat was comfortable when we left. There is a coffee machine that’s a good distraction. Everything is clean and everyone here is nice. I know you have to keep the ER open, but the rates here are extremely high, that’s my only complaint and I won’t take a star for it.

Our 6 year old dog needed TPLO surgery and our experience exceeded any and all expectations.
Dr. Prink, the weekend vet, the vet intern, and techs were great at explaining everything, answering questions, and communicating with us every step of the way. Post-op was explained perfectly by a weekend vet and with 8 weeks of following doctor’s orders, our sweet girl is BACK!
I also want to add that they were ready and willing to work with pet insurance and have staff to help navigate payment and answer any questions. It’s a very expensive surgery so knowing they are equipped to support that part of the transaction was a nice surprise.
The facility is spotless and every single staff member was kind and helpful.
From the first call and check-in, Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital provided superb care.

When faced with a really tough foxtail situation, a thousand miles from home in the middle of a road trip, the entire staff at Wheat Ridge made our experience as smooth as possible.

Our dog River spent three days at Wheat Ridge and had a major surgery to remove a foxtail lodged near his lung. Dr. Corsi, the rest of the medical staff on his case, and all of the hospital staff were knowledgeable, communicative, kind and supportive throughout a scary process, including helping us set up appointments for follow ups with the relevant specialists when we get home next week.

Sooner than we could have hoped, he is home and comfortably resting. We credit the team at Wheat Ridge for saving our precious family member’s life.

My dog (Scrappy) was seen last night at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital at 3:00a New Years Day. Dr. Jennifer Truong was my vet and I could not have been more pleased. She was thorough, knowledgeable, kind and reassuring. Her assessment was exactly correct and with the medicine she prescribed, my pup was doing better by 4:00a and is much, much better today. Thank you for your kindness, I will not forget how thoughtful you were. Happy New Year!!

We had a major concern with our super sweet blue heeler doggy. It was the middle of the night. The team at this hospital were compassionate and caring. We are lucky our little girl is ok and thankful as heck this hospital is in our area.

Really love this place! They are amazing and understanding with reactive dogs. Mine is moderately dog reactive, and they don’t make us wait in the busy lobby. Instead, they're kind enough to offer to let us in through a back door and check all of the blind corners ahead of us to make sure we're not going to run into any surprise dogs as we head straight to a room. This greatly eased the stress for me and my dog and helped us feel understood and cared for.

We came in for an ER visit due to our dog experiencing sudden neurological issues and were able to see the neurologist that same day and leave with a course of treatment.The pricing seemed transparent and fair, knowing that emergency/specialty vet care is never super cheap.

And the best part - within a few days, our dog had miraculously bounced back to being his normal energetic self! Very grateful for the kind and effective care we've received at WRAH. Additionally, the Neurology team is responsive and communicative, checking in via email and phone and making it easy to reach them with any concerns or questions. I'm so glad we turned to WRAH in this scary time.

We love wheat ridge animal hospital. It is our dog’s primary vet, which we have been nothing but pleased with! They helped us with an emergency this week. We came in 3 times within 24 hours and were kind and caring each time. People complain about communication, but their communication was fantastic thru all of it. As far as pricing I don’t think they are anymore expensive than somewhere else. If you’re looking for primary care, or an emergency vet I would highly recommend Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital.

My cat needed a specialist for a biopsy, so I was referred to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. The team there gave my baby the best possible care. I also discovered that many of my friends are ardent fans of WRAH, too, which really put my mind at ease.

My kitty got to come home with great care instructions, and we have an appointment with her regular vet Monday for follow-up care for her condition (pancreatitis and IBD). Pricing was also very reasonable, especially given the level of care my beloved animal was receiving.

Getting emergency care for one’s pet can be so tough and scary, and I am especially grateful for Doreen’s kindness as I navigated that. I’m so glad to know about this vet hospital and their wonderful staff.

Absolutely love this place! The staff here is so kind and caring and they know what they are doing. They care about you and your animals very much. I take my dogs here and one of mine has had a lot of issues with walking and such and the staff here made sure that we took all the right steps to make sure that we figure out what was going on and how to best help her. I have never worried about if she was getting the help she needed and I am very grateful for that. I highly recommend bringing your dogs here (or any animals you may have but I know personally that they are very good with dogs)!

I was in Colorado on vacation, visiting the mountains and some friends, when my dog got a hold of another dog medications.. I drove the hour+ to Denver to Wheat Ridge and they admitted Cooper immediately. Dr. Lazarus talked me through what was going on and his recommendations for moving forward. My dog ended up staying overnight for monitoring and recovery, a full 24-hour stay. Dr. Lazarus, Dr. Rapnik, and the staff were all were supportive and provided great care with excellent communication throughout. Highly recommended!
